cheese101 yay! finally someone agrees with me on that song! i've posted comments on it and said stuff about it in the chat saying how cool it would be if joe played it live for us (and put it on a DVD) but noone ever said anything about it and then you just randomly post that you think the song is amazing and joe needs to play it live....10 points for you cheese!!

Mr. Satriani

I ve been a big fan of your's like everyone here for a long long time. Your one of the greatest guitar player's that god created and also ive been a collector of Guitar magazines. GuitarSchool , Guitar For The Practiceing Musician, and Guitar World my favorite. I have qiute a few issues with you on the cover and now the next one with you is about to arrive soon.

I know 2 great men that work for this magazine. Mr. Paul and Mr. Aledort. Andy and i talked about how he was at your home doing the interview and what to expect in the issue.

What's it like haveing to do the interview's for Guitar World , and what's all involved in getting it all put together. This will be one of your biggest issue's with them and also do you ever buy them once in a while ?

Alot of us cannot wait to see this new issue about you from Guitar World. Thank you Joe from all of us for everything throughout the year's and all the lesson's and tableatures.

Keep rockin em Joe !.....Randy

Satriella, haha, yeah I guess I could give that a try....playing Hill Groove on the phone, I mean!

update: Oh I tried checking out the youtube video you posted a link to. After 15 minutes of loading the page on my crappy dial-up connection I have to confess I gave up.

MasterYoda, haha, yeah I think I also misread his tab! I honestly went more with the tab than the actual notes 'cause I happened to have a guitar handy, but looks like I screwed it up anyway. However, thanks, I appreciate your point....largely 'cause of the concise explanation......It's something I've tried to explain to a few students and it usually takes a while for them to get their head round it!
tune, hey happy birthday for yesterday! Sorry I wasn't around to send you best birthday wishes on the right day! Anyway, hope everything's good with you, it's good to see you back here!
sonnywillats, hey, welcome to t2j! So come on, tell us all the gory details; what's your favourite tune of Joe's, how long have you been a fan, what kinda stuff are you into?! :-]
ovation1, ooh yeah Mike Mangini is a pretty special player as drummers go - have you seen the video for "Hip Today" off Extreme IV? It's a great video and you can just tell it's Mike's drumming all over it, it rocks.

Virgil Donati and Gregg Bissonette are probably the two that realy get me going. Oh but then Simon Phillips' contributions to Andy Timmons' stuff is amazing, not to mention his cool work with Joe and Toto.

Oh and then there's the sheer joy of watching Jeff drumming on Live In SanFran and G3 '96 - he always looks like he's having such a good time playing with Joe! Oh I can't decide, but Virgil's got such beautiful expression, so he usually tends to hover at the top of my list!

By the way I did manage to get a look at the Eric Johnson video 'cause it was nice and short, and to be honest....well, you know me, I'd wait a lifetime to see an EJ video load. He is just awesome.....there's no way I'll ever be able to articulate all the things that amaze me about his music.

Hi guys...

I need to stop posting "I'm back..." messages, hanging around for a weekend or two, and then disappearing for a few months. I really do think I'm back this time, though...for good. :-)

I've gone through a lot of stuff recently...I'm sure you'll all hear about it in due time. But for now...I have a new job at the local newspaper (the "real" newspaper in Long Beach, not the one at school), I'm in a new apartment, and I've just started my last semester of college. Woohoo!

Anyway, I glanced through some old posts...it's good to see a lot of familiar people. I'll go through posts from the past few days and try to jump into some of the discussions if I can.

One last thing... Is anyone going to the Dream Theater gig at the Radio City Music Hall in New York on 4/1? I'm flying in for the gig...it should be awesome... :-)

...Austin...

Hey Joe ........ I know I have asked before about this but i just want to get one or two things straight...........

I asked about an LP I bought about 2/3 weeks ago and I had a reply from a guy on the Forum site called Nikos saying that you said.........

"Nikos, Yes, that is my inscription to my wife on those records. It's something that is done when the original vinyl is first cut at mastering. Best wishes, Joe"

now dose this apply for the master of each album done on LP or was there more than one of each album that has this on it.............. Put simply I have Dreaming #11 on LP and it has scratched into it "JOE LOVES RUBINA", now do i have the master copy of Dreaming #11 (One of a kind?) or are there more out there??????????

P.S Please check out my previous post's about the last Contest Give Away

Stay Safe, Dave

Okay...I read through posts from the past two days or so. It's cool that, even though I've been more or less away from the site for a year, T2J is still the same awesome place. It's also a bit weird that after being gone for a year I still have a few hundred posts more than some other regulars, but that's something else entirely...hehehe. ;-)

Is there any big Satch news I'm missing out on? I've heard the Nascar music, I know the new album should be out around 3/14, and Joe will be hitting the road with Eric Johnson. Is there anything else...?

Hey Joe, Hows it goin dude. I checked out a webcast video of you playing in CA last year. It was so cool. Ive been playing for 6 years, am 19 years old and just getting familiar with the Lydian, Miloxidyian and the pitch axis tips i found on the web off you. You inspired me to record my own version of the American National anthem even though i am Irish and live in the UK!! Hows that! I let my cousin in NJ hear it, he's a professional photographer and commentator and he said if i went to the sates he'd get me to play it at a minor league baseball game. That would be the most amazing experience of my life. I saw you on the video after you nailed it at the Mets/Giants game and you said 'That was cool!'. One question for you Joe. I practice about 2 hours a day, im a student aswell so it's hard to always find time. Is it better to sit down and learn the Dorian, Lydian, Phyrgian, Miloxidyian etc or is there a better way to go about learning the sclaes that have helped you become so succesful? Thanks buddy. Would be a dream come true to hear from you. Chris.
