Hey Joe what is going on. You grew up with my dad Patrick Sweeney and also Billy and Maurean Sweeney. My dad admires you for how much you played guitar when you were a kid. I play Bass guitar one of the greatest instruments in the world. For my Birthday I think my dad (Patrick) is going to get me a Rickenbacker bass guitar. My brother has a Rickenbacker guitar and it has the sweetest sound.(I think you should try a Rickenbacker because its a shame no one plays them any more.) My dad (Patrick) also still plays the drums and me and my brother jam with him all the time.

just a suggestion for the super colossal tour, how about a bit of acoustic - Tears In The Rain.

my dad used to play it all the time and we used his own recording at his funeral, would be brilliant to hear it live!

Things Heard During the Super Bowl That Sounded Dirty, But Weren't

5> "You said it, Al -- that muff was huge!"

4> "He's been getting into the pocket all day and forcing Big Ben out to the left, where he always gets whacked hard."

3> "Let's wait to see where the spot ends up."

2> "He really needed 10 inches, but it looks to me like he's only got about six."

and the Number 1 Things Heard During the Super Bowl That Sounded Dirty, But Weren't...

1> "If I really need to score in under a minute, I put the ball in Big Ben's hands and let him work his magic."

ovation1 - Yeah, that show looks very awesome.

I finally saw Collective Soul live last year (twice...woohoo!). They played at the Ventura Theater the first time and filmed it. The band was on fire...I wish they would have released that, but I know this show with the orchestra will blow it out of the water.

Ed Roland has so much energy on stage. I'd say he's the second most energetic frontman I've ever seen live (Aerosmith's Steven Tyler would be number one). Brent Smith, the lead singer from Shinedown, is up there as well...he'd probably be a close third.

RealMadrid - Joe will probably play several shows in the UK when he tours Europe, but that won't be until after the U.S. leg of shows.
Stevee T - Mike Portnoy is only playing three Who tribute shows: Whittier, CA on 5/27, Chicago, IL on 5/30, and New York, NY on 5/31. There's an ad on the front page of his website (http://www.mikeportnoy.com/).
evbro - You live in LA now? No way! What part? When did you move out here?

...Austin...

hey mthead *waves* ;-)

Mikey, the Hammer of the Gods looks pretty cool. Ima hafta git me dat! lol! Thanks for the link.

Lucy, thanks for the get well wishes. My daughter is coming down with a cold now too. I've also been nursing little Sully with antibiotics. Poor little guy has such a bad cold. He's sneezing and stuffy, but he's still eating and every once in a while he'll perk up and play a bit.

Mari, that long haired guy is #43 Troy Polamalu. He was kicking ass in the play off games. Don't think he had as good of a game as he would have liked, but hey, they won. lol!

oohh, Sully just came up and crawled up on my shoulder for a snuggle. Gotta cuddle the sick baby, and it's hard to type with one hand.

962/Anyone with a bit of technical expertise - Help! I'm having a bit of a problem with my effects set up!

Basically, I used to use a Digitech RP-6 with a Dunlop Wah-Wah plugged into a Marshall Valvestate Combo. Every now and again at gigs I would notice that the sound would go very bass-y and indistinct and put it down to my ears acclimitising after the first set.

However, I upgraded to pedals about 6 months ago. I now go: Peavey Wolfgang into a Little Alligator Volume-WahWah-Tuner-Boss DS-1-Marshall SV-1 Chorus-Boss DD3 Delay then Marshall Valvestate. These all sit in a cradle that powers all the effects.

The same thing was happening at rehearsal tonight and I plugged straight into the amp to check if it was the amp or the guitar. Both worked fine and I got a good, bright sound, no muddiness. When I tried the wah-wah (the only other item from my original set-up) direct in, it worked fine as well!

Has anyone any suggestions as to what this could be? I can't imagine that it is the amp or my guitar but I can't fathom it out! Aarggghh!!!
