Boy what a day. Didn't figure I would post so much today and cause so much trouble/grief.

I try to be thoughtful in my posts - try to use good grammer, spelling, ect (not always successful, but I try).

Yes - Hoosiers need to stick together - maybe not like glue, but together nonetheless.

By the way - cuthbert1776 - you coming up to ride on our toll road anytime soon? The state needs your money - actually, the powers that be who want to own the toll road want your money.

How about voice recognition software that will control your mouse for you (move left, scroll down) to save your fingers?

Or - how about a longer screen - see a page at a time?

:)

I am full of ideas (some good, some bad).

attention non-US contest winners! - i researched some and discovered the reason njbeast hasn't received his is that the folks from sony got no reply from their email requesting a phone number. apparently, they need a phone number in order to ship internationally. i will send out another email to the four people who they didn't hear from in an attempt to get that info. njbeast-- check your email and reply and we'll get you sorted. there are 3 other folks who also need to send me phone #-- if you know (or are) one of them, please email me today! they are stuart09, wolk, and DanielSwords.

just heard from sony that they are still waiting for posters. hopefully it'll be taken care of soon and i'll keep checking with 'em. the next contest we have everything already together so this won't be a problem again!

btw, a quick comment on posting lots of articles from other sites-- it's great to share topical things you want to discuss, just keep it under control. if you post a bunch all at once, it is a bit overload and it is more likely people will be annoyed and ignore 'em all. better to post one, let people respond, then the next day you can post another. use your best judgement and just think about it in terms of some new fan of joe's who comes to the site and what would make them feel welcome to talk about joe and his music with y'all.

gotta have Joe Usually, bands/artists/musicians will release two CD's, one for Japan (which usually have 1+ bonus track(s), and then the US version, which usually doesn't contain the bonus track(s). The Japanes versions, considered - Imports, usually cost a bit more than the US versions also. I usually see Japanese imports go for over $30+. An easy way to check out the Japanese extras is using something like 'Limewire' to check out the Japanese extra songs, but Limewire no reason to download entire CD's! How would you personally feel if the music you put so much time into writing, rehearsing, and the endless hours of recording and mixing and then people just download the entire thing for free? Most seem to really like having Limewire, but put yourself in the shoes of the musicians. They still are making a lot, but the amount of people downloading music for free would shock you. I'm not against Limewire, I only use it to get the Japanese bonus tracks that aren't included on US versions, I don't think $30+ for a CD is really worth it.

-Hope everyone else is all good today...I'm not, felt like crap all day, hopefully whatever I have is gone by tomorrow!

haha, you gotta dig that new CD cover....somebody got Photoshop for christmas ;-) Seriously though, it's kinda cool....kinda different, that's for certain.
alter_ego_of_joe, yeah it is definitely worth drawing out the 7 modes in a visual form.....visual patterns are the easiest to remember and easiest to read at a glance. Life is crazy but music is good, thanks!
VFR, hey hey bro! It's great to see your name up on here, of course! Don't worry dude, I know you've been all tied up with family and life stuff for the last 6 months....good things come to those who wait, I'm sure we'll get to meet up at the right time hombre!
ovation1, haha yeah that's a cool thing to quote about Paul Gilbert! I'm just listening to "Flying Dog".....Pablo's records are such an inspiration.....even though I know I could never play like him I still always give it a try anyway!
The Farting Gnome, hey thanks a lot for the update! I didn't know anything about a new Toto record....that's good to hear! Thanks again amigo, keep on rockin!
everyone/anyone, if anyone has any questions or whatever then I suggest you fire them at me via e-mail (airman_siro@yahoo.co.uk) 'cause I doubt I'll have time to properly keep track of things here for a while. Am now "lurking" ;-)

Hum - I think the webmaster was writing about me . . .

Just a thought.

But

About the lease - seems like a project that large is going awful fast through the legislature.

Also - the rate of increase - happens every few years, a decrease in the increase is put in place and one side gripes about it. Politics as usual.

A Phone conversation

"Mrs. Ward, please."

"Speaking."

"Mrs. Ward, this is Doctor Jones at the Medical Testing Laboratory. When your doctor sent your husband's biopsy to the lab yesterday, a biopsy from another Mr. Ward arrived as well, and we are now uncertain which one is your husband's. Frankly the results are either bad or terrible."

"What do you mean?" Mrs. Ward asks nervously.

"Well, one of the specimens tested positive for Alzheimer's and the other one tested positive for AIDS . We can't tell which is your husband's."

"That's dreadful! Can't you do the test again?" questioned Mrs. Ward.

"Normally we can, but Medicare will only pay for these expensive tests one time."

"Well, what am I supposed to do now?"

"The people at Medicare recommend that you drop your husband off somewhere in the middle of town. If he finds his way home, don't sleep with him."

I've taken to drinking those energy drinks in the morning. I tried them in the evenings, but by then I'm usually too hopped up on crystal meth to notice any additional energy boost.

webmaster - The update is cool...thanks. :-) Do you know if Sony is doing anything special with the preorders this time like they have in the past (poster, autographed liner notes, etc.)? The preorder page doesn't say anything yet. If not, I'll save a few bucks and just get it from Best Buy on release day.

ovation1 - Cool...thanks for the info about that gig. I'll be there if I have the day off...and if I don't forget, LOL. ;-)
Ibanez Rocks - Lower the whammy bar with your left hand, play a pinch harmonic at the 24th fret with your right hand, and raise the whammy bar with your left hand.
JS JS - Hey there! What's up? I haven't been to the site much in the past year or so, but I'm back now...

How is school going?

bluebuffalo - My Q&A was never posted in text form...it was only available on the site for a short while as a part of the webcast. Maybe I'll ask the webmaster about putting a text-only version on the website if I transcribe it for him.
Satriella - Joe hasn't done any movie-only music. He wrote the song One Big Rush specifically for Cameron Crowe's Say Anything, but that song was also eventually released on Flying In A Blue Dream.

Satch Boogie was used in Problem Child 2 and Speed of Light was used in Super Mario Bros. I can't think of any other times Joe's music has been used in movies.

962 - No, the only Andy Timmons album I have is That Was Then, This Is Now. Thanks for the other recommendation, though...I'll try to pick that one up when I get some money. ;-)

"you gotta dig that new CD cover....somebody got Photoshop for christmas"

I think it looks less Photoshopped (Can I make that a verb?) than some of his more recent releases, but I still don't like it all that much. Just about all of Joe's albums have a picture of him and maybe a guitar on the cover...but I think Time Machine is my favorite cover, because it actually works the photo of Joe into a larger theme.

peaceandguitars - I'm sorry to see you go... I hope things get better for you soon...we're here if you ever need/want to talk.
Zinc Master - "Eighty percent of the respondents consider it stealing to download music for free without the copyright holder's permission, and 92 percent say they've never done it, according to a poll by The Associated Press and Rolling Stone magazine."

"Ipsos' telephone poll of 1,000 adults"

The people who conducted this survey should be shot. Adults aren't the ones stealing music. Kids steal it, often without even understanding copyright.

The person who wrote the article should be shot as well, for not picking up on that.

"Could I simply post the hot link for the site - sure. But then, how many will actually link to it and read it?"

Probably the same number of people. Those who don't click the links would probably be the same people who just scroll past your posts.

I think it's cool that you post a lot of different things here...but I also thought I'd say that if you have several stories to share, providing several links (and maybe a headline or a the lead paragraph with each) in one post makes T2J a bit easier to read than it is with five long copied/pasted posts in a row. With me personally, I'd open each one of your links in a separate tab (I love Firefox!) and go through them one at a time that way.

gruskada - I'm still here. ;-) I was pretty away from the site for most of the last year or so, but I'm back for good now. How've you been?
Drafter 42 - Hi...welcome back. :-)

Man am I posting a lot here today or what.

Is firefox that great? I still use IE

Regarding the copyright - very few adults probably understand copyright law and some also download music as well.

I use iTunes - love it.

You are probably right - mostly teenagers / college age people are the ones downloading music illegally.

Hey Joe I am excited you have a new album coming out. Please tell me its not going to be infected with DRM, security loopholes and rootkits like the G3 Live in Tokyo CD. Thankfully sony did replace the CD for me with one that was no infected. But I have to tell you that sure did cause me a lot of heartache. A Full system restore on a work PC.

Don't let them do this to your music again please. I know piracy and things like that are out of control but most people rip CD's for legitimate uses like using an iPod or other MP3 device. Just my two cents, but I know I wasn't the only one affected/infected by this.

Hi folks, hi Joe....i have a question for you, are you a fan of home theatre systems?.....if so, have you ever contemplated recording an album in 5.1?.......now i ask you this as i have heard Jean Michel Jarre's ''AERO'' and it sounds truly amazing. He recorded it note for note in surround sound, a real first in music! i can imagine your music in 5.1 .....for example 1. drums from the front speakers 2. your guitar from the centre and right rear speakers 3. etc.etc i think your your music would truly benefit from the technology, as you could immerse the listener with your astounding music! by the way, are you a fan of Jarre's music joe?...i know you love your keyboards, he could have played on ''Engines of creation'' lol....! i was listening to your albums in Dolby Pro Logic 2 on my system...wow!! there were parts of the tracks i had never heard before. So utterly memerising, so maybe in the future you could release a DVD with Dolby Digital/DTS mix to accompany the CD or just for the tracks that call for it, of course its your choice Joe, i am just interested to hear what you think on the subject. I can not wait for the new CD, the cover and title is extemely cool!! i have a feeling this album is going to be different from anything you have done before, just by the tracklisting, and you are playing all the bass and keyboards!:O wow!! go Joe!.........even more Joe in the music!! thats got to be a good thing! ....im especially interested in hearing you play the keyboard parts....i am counting the days!..........the very best of luck with the new album and tour, i would love to see you play the UK again, if you can fit Wales in then that would be fantastic, if not i will have to travel to good ol England, to see my fave musician.........Good bye Joe.................

Zinc Master - Mozilla Firefox is awesome. It's coolest feature is its tabbed browsing. Instead of having a million different windows open, you can right-click links on a page and open them in a new tab. This makes it easy when looking at full-size versions of thumbnail pictures, looking at a list of search results and opening several sites, or sorting through other forums and opening all the topics you wish to read at once. Just click the tabs at the top or use a keyboard shortcut to jump back and forth between the different tabs. It's easy.

It's also much more secure than IE, and infinitely more customizable.

You can download Firefox here. If you still aren't convinced, go here to read a list of 101 things you can do with Mozilla (Firefox) that you can't do with IE. Then go download it. ;-)

"Regarding the copyright - very few adults probably understand copyright law and some also download music as well."

I bet adults understand it better than children. My problem with that article was that the sample group that was surveyed is a group that doesn't download music often in the first place...so using their answers to come to conclusions about downloaders is just stupid. I mean come on...they even surveyed people who don't listen to music!

That'd be like asking a bunch of Ashlee Simpson fans if they like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, and then writing an article about how instrumental rock music is dead. It's ridiculous.
