highwayman, Hrh Fish is sort of right, you have to get the artists permission. But even if Joe says "yeah, feel free to shoot as many photos as you can" you still have to get permission from the venue. It depends what you're using though really. If you take a small camera like a disposable or a digital compact or something you can just bury it in your pocket and then use it all you're like....usually people don't care.

If you walk in with a tripod and a flight case containing a couple of SLR's with a couple of different lenses and flashguns to go with 'em, you might get kicked out! haha.

Joe never seems to mind photos though, you always see people with cameras at gigs. The only time I advise not trying to sneak one in is if you're going to a show that is being filmed for DVD - when I went into Steve Vai's Aching Hunger Part II show in Holland last year, we all got frisked! Sorry....that was a long answer to a short question wasn't it?!

teach me guitar and gotta have joe, can you try and explain what level you are at? You know, tell us what stuff you do know in terms of basic guitar theory, what chords you know, scales, songs what kind of stuff you can read?

Just want to see what you think of my band, we're a bit indie, new wave and alternative - not any kind of Satch stuff, but we're proud of it.

Just saw the podcast and have been looking at the new straps. I find your art very interesting. I wonder what the historians will write about this modern art...did Satriani study under Munch or it's Munchianesque art (what a title!)

Glad for your new venture. Hopefully, a local vendor will be getting these in, so my dh can surprise me with one. Sure does beat the usual ones around. Thanks.

G'day Guys,

My name is Dejan and I'm an Australian based fan of freaky shred guitar playing for the 20 years. I have also grown up surfing in Southern Victoria around Phillip Island and my music is inspired by yes - Joe, Vai and EVH, but also the surfing lifestlye I've been lucky to experience with mates over the years. Anyhow, I'm have launched my website and CD "Dejan - Deep Blue Cathedral".

This isn't a shameless plug for my music, but I'd love to hear some genuine feed back on both my site and the music it contains.

The link is www.surfmusic.com.au

Please feel free to drop me a line. I am in the process of writing CD no. 2. Anyone that's tried it knows the difficulties involved, so i hope to get some positive feedback instead ruthless bagging!!!

stay cool,

Dejan.

Teach Me Guitar / Gotta Have Joe... Patience is very important, i too get frustrated with myself for not being where i think i should be on < this is important > the worlds most expressional instrument. Kevbrigden gave you some very good advise and you might want to take OCPS470 up on his offer..heck take any kinda help you can when you can but, again dont let yourself get too frustrated JOE SATRIANI, STEVE VAI, EVH, JIMI HENDRICKS and the likes are truly God Gifted and should be looked upon as inspiration... make sure your not comparing yourself with them as they have gone past the virtuoso into the realm of Artist and it is simply a bad idea to put that much pressure on yourself... take it at your own pace and keep practicing and have as much fun as you can !!!!!!!! lol !!! Happy Birfday Geeza. We know what you want. Back stage passes for the show.....

Teach me guitar

If you are a begginer learn the basic chords first. The first few weeks is tuff. Your fingers peel and you are usin muscles you are not used to. Learn the basic power chord first and try movin it around The fret board a bit. Basic power chord shape 1st finger 5th fret/6th string (thickest) 3rd finger 7th fret / 5th string. Watch the strings dont catch your fingers. You can move that shape any where on the fret board. Also try same shape with 1st finger on 5th string and 3rd finger on fourth string keeping a fret between the two fingers. Try makin your own tunes up movin this shape around and remeber which ones sound good together.

Once youve got your hand used to the instrument then learn the basic chords and basic scales. Check a reputable private tutor out in your area. So you dont learn any bad habbits.
