Zinc Master: Cheney had "reliable intelligence" that told him said fellow was actually a duck.

No matter what kind of a crappy day you might have, Alexandre will make ya feel better. He's the most positive person on the planet! :)

PhryDom: I'd like to, if Joe comes anywhere around. I've been to DragonCon down there a couple of times. Is Rio Bravo Bar and Grill still open on Peachtree?

Kayla: There's nothing wrong with that. When I watched the Denver G3 DVD for the very first time, I noticed a tear or two during "Voodoo Chile". Powerful stuff....like you could send the spirit of Jimi along with them. Had a big ol' grin, too!

Alexandre: The only thing I can tell you about the JSX, is that after almost a year of owning it, it is still THE tone when I play through it. I just love it. Usually by now I like an amp, but I find something that bothers me haah! As far as JS guitars, I checked one out when Matt King came to Florida for jemfest and jammed with me. They're great guitars, but for me they are too much likea vintage strat (ie small frets, round radius). I like the feel of my S470 that has a fairly flat radius, jumbo frets, and a thin neck.....so that's the setup on my custom guitar, which simply takes that setup and adds more switching options, compound radiusing on the fretboard, and better wood and components. My custom Chellee guitar is my "signature" guitar if you will. Haha!

Joe please tell me you'll be coming to Ireland to support the new album? Also, what are the chances of some left hand JS guitars? I'm so jealous of all the right handed people, it's realy hard to get a decent left hand guitar here in a regular shop, and I find choosing a guitar too personal to shop online for one

Hi all,

I recently purchased a Satriani Ibanez on impulse, due to the way it played (neck shape is awesome) and sounded. I persoanlly thought it was rather 80's looking, but screw it it plays great so whatever. I had never actually heard his music either until I bought "G3 live in Tokyo" last week, and even though the songs didnt hit my like that dude Petrucci's did, Satriani easily blows Vai and JP away when it comes to skills. Thanks Satch for pulling me out of my grunge playing crap and into being a real student of the instrument.

Stevee T, Flyman's Knuckle is the dog's bits innit?? i think it is a marvellous composition flawlessly performed.. As good as anything out there!! I told Roy the intro reminded me of a bustling seaport and preparing to sail and that then leads into the joy of bounding over the waves... Just my visual interpretation of a super cool tune... Damn I hope Steve Vai or Satch have listened to it....

From Feb. 8 of my George Carlin calendar...

There are women named Faith, Hope, Joy, and Prudence. Why not Despair, Guilt, Rage, and Grief? It seems only right. "Tom, I'd like you to meet the girl of my dreams, Tragedy." These days, Trajedi.

DelfinoPie - Do you have any Rush albums other than Counterparts and Rush In Rio? If not, you've only been exposed to one part of the band. I look at Rush as having three "eras" (the discography section of http://www.rush.com/ might help):

Era I (1974-1980) - Rush through Permanent Waves
Era II (1981-1989) - Moving Pictures through Presto
Era III (1991-present) - Roll The Bones through Vapor Trails/present day

To grossly oversimplify things, you could think of them as the "prog epic" era, the "keyboard" era, and the "rock" era. So...I'd recommend picking up an album or two from each group. If you like what you hear, buy the rest of the albums from that time period before moving on. If you don't like what you hear, move on to some of their other music and come back later. And stick with the studio albums to start with...save the live albums for last.

I'd recommend either 2112 or Permanent Waves from the first era. My favorite albums from the second era are Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows, but I think Moving Pictures would be a better introduction to the era. My top recommendation from the third era would be Counterparts, but you already have that. So go with Roll The Bones and then maybe Test For Echo.

Well, let me know what you end up getting, and whether or not you like what you hear...and I'll continue to offer suggestions.

...Austin...
