Chee, patience my dear. PATIENCE! lol!
Mikesb, good luck with your proceedure tomorrow. Just keep in mind that it's for your own good. At least you don't have to also get your boobies smashed between two sheets of glass once a year or so like we do. Now THAT'S fun. lol! NOT! And they have the nerve to say "hold your breath" - who the hell can breathe when you're hiked up on yer tip-toes dangling from your damn boob??? Just think of that tomorrow :-)

How about some comedy ?
An elderly couple was attending church one Sunday and during the middle of a long drawn out sermon the wife leaned over and whispered to her husband "I just let out a little silent fart, what should I do"
To which her husband replied:
"Change the batteries in your hearing aid"
I Love It So ! ! !

mikesb......AHHH Yes, The Flyin' Ryan Bros. Yeah, I played with a bass player that played with them a long time ago. There's actually a photo of him on there site. It had to be the late 70's. But yes, they're very good. I heard them on Chicago's XRT Radio station one night. The DJ Richard Milne hosts a local talent slot on Wed. and they were featured one night about maybe 5 yrs. ago. Angelo Battio has a link to there site from his site. How did you hear of them?

Keniko, read about em a while back on the Wishbone Ash site... Leon, the webmaster there loved the Bros and their twin harmony lead thing. I guess one of em has won a "fast fingers" competition or two over the years. Pretty impressive in a town that includes Dave Uhrich, George Bellas, of course Mr Batio and...........you!!! The album I received is great, they do an Ash tune on it and claim that all the harmony leads were recorded in "real-time".. If so, pretty damn tight and impressive.. Cuth, thanks for the graphic racetrack reference!!!!! Ouch...

HEY JOE I was reading your interview about your new song Super Colossal and you mentioned a pedal you used to give a 3 octave effect, and it sparked my attention. When I released my CD a few years back I recorded a song called Se7en (Inside My Heart), and I did a soulful one take solo where I did the 3-octave effect. I didn't use a pedal but the same effect I was able to get by tracking my solo and octave up and octave down on seperate tracks and blending them all together into one. Which brings me to my main question....back on the first G3 tour with Petrucci in Fort Worth I talked to a girl on your management/touring team and she told me she would give you my CD which has that song on there. Do you remember ever getting the CD or the song? If not maybe I can get it to you so you can listen to the solo work....I hadn't heard the song Super Colossal yet, so you can imagined I'm even more excited about hearing that effect and how they compare to each other. Keep Rockin Joe....

mikesb...... Thanks for the nod. Just came off the Batio site. EVERYONE has to see this to believe it. Batio has a the dual guitar neck soloing video up. He covers Deep Purple, Hendrix, Black Sabbath in the solo it's freakin' unbelievable. Joe Babiak is his drummer. Joe and I emailed each other back and forth and he was considering joining me but I can see why he didn't. I'm no where near the class Batio is in. I'm happy for Joe. He's now with a master and Joe deserves it.
Check it out. http://www.deanguitars.com/angelo/mab_videos/

I'm sure you've heard of Unicorn Records being Canadian. What's that label like? What kind of music are they looking for? Just curious.

SteveeT- so you spoke to Joe's Mum as well? That is cool! :)
njbeast- You met Joe 3 times and Steve twice? Very lucky indeed! So how did you get to meet Joe- seeing as it tends to be harder to do in the UK! Nice going though!
EthnH- No more Hendrix covers? Why not?
MasterYoda- what did you say to Steve Vai when you met him? I always have this fear that if I ever met Joe I'd have a great question in my head to ask, but when I got the chance what would actually get spoken by me would be "blblbllblblbllblblblblb" or some equal nonsense LOL!!!
Mari- Bet you'll be getting to some of the Joe gigs!
Zinc- £3.70 for a dvd, particularly for the Seville 92 concert is a GREAT deal. England rips you off left right and centre for the price of pretty much everything. It's got to be one of the most expensive places to live- especially the South-East- you have to pay a small fortune to live in a shed!!!
Cheese- I am very much looking forward to getting that dvd! So many fantastic guitarists! How are you these days by the way?
Michelle- that made me wince- OUCH!

Austin, yeah I had the rare pleasure of seeing Jennifer Batten perform in a clinic/demo session at a guitar show in London 3 or 4 years ago. She was really awesome to watch.....she's so different and brings such a different "guitar playing experience" to the live stage.
ovation1, dude I think it royally sucks that you and I are the only two Paul Gilbert fans here! haha. I'm listening to King Of Clubs again and he's kickin my ass so hard. "Vinyl" is such a killer track, I love it!
Also, as I said before, I've got KOC, Burning Organ, Flying Dog, Spaceship One, and Racer X: technical difficulties.....which other albums does Paul do classical pieces/arrangements on?
I really want to hear all the classical stuff he's done and put them all on a CD of their own 'cause he does it better than anyone else. So that means so far I've heard B.R.O, The Jig, G.V.R.O, Gilbert Concerto

I hope that when more tour dates are added, they are added to the end of the tour schedule and not the beginning. I'll be in New York from 3/28-4/2 for the Dream Theater gig on 4/1.
In the past Joe has usually played Los Angeles right before Denver. I hope there are a few more stops in between this time (or, at least, I hope there is a Ventura/Anaheim/San Diego/other Southern California show that I can make it to). ::crosses fingers::
Joe or Jon - I know you don't know specific dates if they aren't already posted on the site, but do you have a general sense of when the Southern California gigs will be (at the start of the tour or at the end)...?
...Austin...

962 Hey...I like Paul Gilbert a lot, also! I've actually been listening to Racer X a lot lately. I'm not a fan of Paul's solo stuff at all, but Racer X is awesome. Paul is one of the fastest, most accurate, and cleanest guitarist I've ever heard. I can't get over how he plays so cleanly at such fast speeds, it's amazing. His classical arrangements are so good, I wanted to figure out B.R.O. this week, but I've been very busy this week, hopefully I'll get to it next week, and yes, both guitar parts. Have you heard Y.R.O.? (Yngwie Rip Off) When he sweeps those arpeggios, they are 10 times cleaner than Yngwie, and even sound faster since they are so cleanly executed. I'll be in NY in two weeks, hopefully I'll finally be able to find the Snowball of Doom DVD, I haven't had any luck finding that anywhere, yet...other than online.
-You know what sucks a lot? Book reports...you know what sucks even more? You finish the book report and all the crap the teacher wants you to do for the book report, it's all typed up and checked over, looks and sounds good...put the disk in to save it...computer freezes! Yea! That's always fun! That just happened to me today! I finally got around to reading the book today, took me about an hour to read it (I speed read, somehow...), wrote the report, put the disk in to save it onto, and the computer froze up! Ahh...did I mention it's due tomorrow (friday)? I did not want to rewrite up a whole nother report...started it again, but just don't want to rewrite another one, what a huge let down, still working on it now, I could have used this time for some guitar playing!!! Well...I gotta try and finish this book report, I got a lot to do other than that, and I need to squeeze some guitar time in there somehow!
-I'll be recording Silent Man by Dream Theater with a friend tomorrow, I'll post the song up for everyone to check out. I didn't pick the song, I would have picked a better song, he just asked me to play guitar for him, not going to turn that down...

The Holy Land
A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation to Jerusalem. While they
were there, the Wife passed away.
The undertaker told the Husband "You can have her shipped home for $5,000,
or you can bury her here, in the Holy Land, for $150."
The man thought about it and told him he would just have her shipped home.
The undertaker asked, "Why would you spend $5,000 to ship your wife home,
when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would spend only
$150?"
The man replied, "Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three days
later he rose from the dead. I just can't take that chance."
