cuthbert1776 - My interview is still online? Cool...I didn't know that. I actually didn't watch that part of it when the webcast was up. Thanks for posting that link again...

962 - I like the new G3 DVD...but I just realized I have only watched it once, right when I got it. I think John's Glasgow Kiss is one of the best songs on it, but his Damage Control didn't do much for me. I wish they would've recorded a show from this tour back in 2001...it probably would have come off better.

Personally, I'd like to see the G3 stuff take a break from a while. It's getting too predictable. I'd actually also like to see a major U.S. G3 tour without Steve Vai, just so it's something different. I'd like to see Steve Morse do a tour, but he's busy with Deep Purple at the moment. Andy Timmons would be cool. It'd be good if the third player was someone completely different, like the John Butler Trio or something. I don't really think he'd be able to take part in the jam, but he'd be a good opening act that would give the tour a different mood.

About the guitar, I believe it is a prototype version of what would eventually become the JS1000. It has some features of the 100 (like the inlay you mentioned), but if I'm remembering things right I think the rest of it is closer to a 1000.

There's a picture of the guitar on the back of Joe's anthology album, and I think he also used it for the video of Starry Night at the beach that was up on this site a few years ago.

Blue Moon - Steve Vai should already know whether he won or lost, because I bet they did his award during some of the preshow stuff. Last year, I think that happened a few days before the actual event. I looked at the Grammy website and couldn't find anything, though.

...Austin...

Mr. Satriani,

My name is Linda Farlow. I am writing a paper in my music class, title "MUSIC AND MATH, HOW THEY RELATE". My husband and I are big fans of yours. We have visited a couple of your concerts in Atlanta Ga. I was wondering, if you mind, if I could ask you some personal questions of you? My paper is going to be about how people who are talented in math are talented in music, or the other way around. You are very much talented in music, but how are you in math? How was your math in your school days? There are some teachers, who are using music to help children learn their math in school and it has work very well for them? I thought I could use you as an example in my class speech, with your permission of course. With my paper I have to give an 8 to 10 minute speech on my same subject. Being how you have play a number of instruments and recorder yourself and put them together. One of our topics has been about electronics, computers, tape recorders and studios. We are talking about how someone can record an instrument and tape another instrument on top and so on. And they put together a music piece, my husband tells me you have done that on some of your music. You would be a great example for my speech and paper. If you do not wish that I use you, and don't won't to discuss your math history? Please respond, soon. Thank you, Linda

Joe- liked your music since a friend of mine let me borrow Flying in A Blue Dream. We saw you in New Orleans in October 2004 at the House of Blues, and I have to say that was the best concert I've seen, based on the musicianship you and the band displayed, the way you really appreciate the fans, and of course the music. And I have to say that while listening to the CDs I didn't really think you were playing all that at once but seeing you play live was an experience, especially how you and the band make it look easy. I don't know when you may get back down this way, or if a show in Baton Rouge could happen, but I'll be there the next time around. A Joe Satriani concert would be good for us.

Hello Joe,Can you really see me out here? Please tell me how you create so much music.I want to see inside your brain.Do you get inspired by a situation and want to write music or are you playing a riff and it reminds you of something or someone? You speak "guitarese" better than anyone,I hear what your saying but what made you say it!?~ Your faithful fan!

Keniko- Thanks! Yes, finally sorted out the program. I downloaded/bought a program called "disclabel 3 Neato edition" for Mac (not sure if I said that before) but there were all sorts of little hitches when you came to print- calibrating etc.... just when I thought I had it sorted some other pain in the arse thing happened with it... anyway! Yes I now have the better of the program, I was not going to let the damn thing beat me! Hope you are well :)

Hello, Mr. Joe Satriani, I am a guitar player who is venturing into the type of guitar style you perform. I think all of your music is brilliant, and put together amazingly. For some reason I can't use my chat, but I would like to talk to other musicians so I can share what I have learned and learn from them. It's all about the music and nobody knows it better than you. Thanks for your music and the inspiration it gives me.

One starry night when i was all alone, cryin and very down down down at the speed of light i was thinking of you. I was asking why saying good bye made memories of a new day in time. Only when i just look up i see tears in the rain. As the big bad moon is causing me to begin searching for what breaks a heart, with hands in the air and the chords of life starring at me, i wish i was in a sleep walk, i then relized with your lifestyle, you saved my life!

Clarky, I had a thought mate - I dunno what your publicity stuff is for the DC band gigs, but I was thinking, if it includes posters/flyers, send me some.

I could put notices up in the 3 guitar shops that I know in Poole, for example. No problem if it's not necessary, but I'm more than happy to help with that if I can 'cause I go down there regularly!

Austin, thanks for the answer about Joe's prototype JS. It's pretty ace, though I still prefer the Paisley one better (as used in Friends on LISF) , that's a stunner!

As for G3.....I still reckon Jennifer Batten would be worth a shot.....her synth fusion stuff a-la Tribal Rage would be really nice in a solo set, and she'd be able to contribute a nicely ballanced but different angle in a G3 jam.

OCPS470, I setup the Amp - Red Box - Hotpate - Cab earlier, with the Red Box's XLR out to my soundcard. I'm really happy with how it worked out.

I need to spend some proper time recording with it and getting familiar with how it sounds, but from what I heard it's really impressive!

Thanks again for recommending this setup to me, it's very rewarding! Keep rockin amigo!

Keniko: Its always great to watch EJ play, he is amazing!....

962: Yeah man, watching EJ play Tribute to Jerry Reed makes you realise just how amazing he is, the way he seamlessly plays the chord changes and pull-offs while keeping the melody at the same time, lol....

On your G3 observation.... I havent got the G3TYO dvd because it hasnt hit the shelves yet..It was supossed to last Dec., but they delayed it (because of the dvd quality?).... I can see where you'd feel the way you do because of the lineup.... I personally would like to see John play the stuff off SA, but he very soon becomes like a machine on the guitar..His picking drives me nuts, lol!!.... Same thing for Dr. \//\I (playing new material), but I think he, and us, are getting tired of his show.... We will see what the future brings, and I also think Andy T or Pablo would bring new life to the equation!!.... I heard there will be no G3 this year though, so maybe that is a good thing, lol....

....Later peeps....
