Hey joe, sorry i haven't been on for a while, I've just been busy. I've been studying. I wanted to tell you about classical music, which you probably have heard, but I just wanted to say how wonderful listening to classical guitar peices is. I am perticuarily crazy about a song called "leyenda". Its a wonderful peice full of highly technical technique. Try listening to Narcisso Yepes, who is a brilliant classical guitarist. Well, I think he is still alive, but I dont Know.... Anyway, stay cool, domo arigato, siyonara, diolch yn fawr iawn, hwl, Thanks

Peace P.S Please read this....

Mikesb...... Yes, I know who Eric Mantel is. I took lessons from him years ago. I stopped because of the distance. He lives way South of me and it took like an 11/2 hrs to reach him. He may not remember me but Patrick Doody (drummer for Lonnie Brooks for 10years) was on my site as my drummer knows him real well. Patrick has a link to Eric's site from his site. I also have a link to Patrick's site form mine. I met Eric Johnson at an out door fest I played at a couple of years ago. Eric and Eric...lol..... know each other real well and EJ and I started talking about EM. Mantel is a huge EJ fan and they talk with each other all the time. Actually Eric Mantel records at Patrick's studio from time to time. Mantel is very talented. He can cut the rug when he wants and then he can lay back also. I have his CD that has the violinist from Kansas on it. I forget his name and forget the title of the CD but it's true Eric Mantel all the way. I know for a while Eric was endorsing APC guitar pickups. They sounded real good and they were made local. I think it was Bensenville, Il. I haven't heard much of APC lately and I don't know if the're still around. As a matter of fact I have a signed promo from Eric endorsing these pick ups. Ever heard of APC Pickups? Someday I'll be sending you my promo for review...lol...scary .....lol.....Take Care.

Edit..... I went to Doody's site. He completely changed it around and has no more links. Strange. http://www.ericmantel.com

Keniko, that would be the album (mostly acoustic stuff I am led to believe) with David Ragsdale who repaced Robbie Steinhart as violinist in Kansas... Ragsdale was a pretty damn good guitarist too I have a Kansas video with him laying it down pretty good. You should seek out this new Eric album it really runs an incredible gamut of style.....

962 I didn't mean to say Andy played the entire show, but most of it. And yes, he was more exciting than Vai and Gilbert (I still don't think Gilbert had enough time to show much). Yea, I was also pretty upset with Vai's performance, the song was pretty boring, and he even didn't seem to like that Bogner amp he was playing through, he kept turning back to tweak the EQ's. Gilbert and those lyrics, he had me laughing. Hey, you can't blame him for those lyrics, such an easy setup he has: Ibanez guitars and Laney amps! and it sounds soooo good!...plus, his unbelievable skills!

ovation1 About the 90th anniv. show... My brother has Limewire (I think that's what it's called), and I was looking to see if I could find any Paul Gilbert clips or videos (I was hoping to find some stuff from the Snowball of Doom DVD). He searched later on while I was playing some guitar, when I was done an hour or two later, walked into my room and there was a blank CD sitting ontop of my DVD collection (which is nothing but music DVDs) put it in and it was the Ibanez 90th anniv. show. I'll have to search and see if I can find any good Gilbert videos or clips on that Limewire. I can't find Snowball of Doom (DVD) anywhere, even Amazon.com only has it used. I'll be in NY next week, maybe I'll get lucky and find it.

U should check out Paco de Lucia particularly on the Three Spirits Live in San Fransisco album. Hes with Al di Meola and John Mclaughlin. Its an all acoustic set. Believe me It will make you give up playin when you hear it!!!! Thats how astounding these guys are.

One of my claims to fame. I went to an Ozzy Osbourne meet and greet at HMV in Birmingham,UK on the Bark at the moon tour and Birmingham was the first date. No one knew what Jake.E.Lee looked like but I saw the video on the box the night before. I spotted him and spent the afternoon with him picking out Cds and that was one of the albums I picked out for him. Hes into Jazz fusion in a big way. Nice guy too. Hes really short but has big hair>

If you are learnin to read music notation try using cakewalk. I find its a superb teaching aid because the notes light up as they are playin. Great for sight reading practice. Also useful if you are not sure on how difficult passages sound before you play them.

Yoda - yeah I know what you mean about the cheesy Benson stuff.... however... when you find a real gem by him, it's really worth it....

have you heard any Emily Remler or Martin Taylor?

Jaycee - thanks for the Martin Taylor tip.. I don't think I have any commitments around that date.. I think I'll try to make it if I can

thanx bro

Mikey - don't comments in marketing blurb like "the use of improved, more efficient and cost effective parts in order to preserve its original price..... " scare you even a little bit??lmao...

how does that translate?? lol..
we'll make it out of shite but it'll sound just like the original no fukn lie and it'll be cheap as fuck too... lol....

hmmm... not a nice sales pitch.. lmao...

dck - yeah.. I'd like to goof with the G-System a little personally to see what all the fuss is about.....

based upon comments from respected budz of mine.. I am to expect a shit lot too....

so obviously I am seriously looking forward to messing with one..

962 - bro.. thanks for the offer to support the DC Band... unfortunately I've just been told that the Poole gig won't happen.... something to do with the contracts etc etc.. not stuff I get involved with... I just show up and make guitar noises......

sorry bro.... so our nearest gig to you would be Brum or London I guess..... shame.. I was looking forward to bumping into you again....

SteveeT - I've found a place near me that has the GT Pro.... and... I need to get a load of hybrid 13 gauge strings so that I can set my guitars up for the DC gigs.... so there is an excuse to bore everyone in the store for hours.... lmao...
Pitch no 8 - I didn't know about this "thin" thing on the Triaxis.. thanks for the pointer....

the main hing is.. I'm not looking to buy anything just yet.. my 2120 is still in the menders...
and my ideal solution is a working 2120.. cos it's simply awesome..

Satriella - our nearest gigs to you are Milton Keynes and London I guess...
it'd be awesome to see you at one of them..

IS THERE ANY PARTY HEADS IN SATCHLAND?

Rave exploaded onto the scene durin my youth and I have been into it when the partys were illegal. I got fed up with tryin to put bands together. Ive been experimenting with computer based Hardhouse/Hardcore music becuase computers always turn up to rehersals and play exactly what you tell them to.

Also I find this an exciting medium because no one else is doin Guitars and House. I can do anythin I want total freedom of expresion. I started jammin with DJs at partys and I am now in the process of writin an album. Not only am I playin live I am also sampling Guitar phrases and noises.

To my knowledge there are very few people doin this. The closest I have heard to what I am doin is UK festival band Senser (now split up unfortunatley) and Space age rockers Ozrics Tentacles. If anyone else is experimentin with this let me know. I am also aware that Joe briefly flirted with techno durin Engines of Creation which I love.

I remeber bein at Uproar in Milton Keynes last year. I was wearin my Ozzy tshirt and there was a tap on my shoulder. This very well spoken voice said my Dad used to play in his band. He was a keyboard player and did Mr.Crowley. Quick as a flash I realised his Dad was Lyndsay Bridgewater! His lad was also into metal and Hardcore. So I cant be the only one.

Just got tickets for the Hardcore Heaven Weekender at Pontins in Southport on 3-5th of March. Best party of the year so far. All the people are cool and friendly! If there are any partyheads on line you got to check it out.

Clarky:I,m curious about the GT pro but i,ve a feeling Digitech are goin to release another monster guitar preamp rack soon that will dust the lot.The GNX3000 has made a huge breakthrough with the pre amp side ideas....But couple that with valves & what the 2120 has with fx,s & a lil Lexicon...... adios competition! The dodge part was the pre amp section & a more robust editing wheel, which lets face it... gets serious SERIOUS abuse, lol.

A finger touch screen guitar pocessor to change parameters without the need of abrasion from pots, bro....its just round the corner
