Any one interested in my old band: A new clip was just put up of one of our unfinished songs...in the sense that we were still working out kinks.

Lemme know what ya think

DelfinoPie - Do you have any Rush albums other than Counterparts and Rush In Rio? If not, you've only been exposed to one part of the band. I look at Rush as having three "eras" (the discography section of http://www.rush.com/ might help):

Era I (1974-1980) - Rush through Permanent Waves
Era II (1981-1989) - Moving Pictures through Presto
Era III (1991-present) - Roll The Bones through Vapor Trails/present day

To grossly oversimplify things, you could think of them as the "prog epic" era, the "keyboard" era, and the "rock" era. So...I'd recommend picking up an album or two from each group. If you like what you hear, buy the rest of the albums from that time period before moving on. If you don't like what you hear, move on to some of their other music and come back later. And stick with the studio albums to start with...save the live albums for last.

I'd recommend either 2112 or Permanent Waves from the first era. My favorite albums from the second era are Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows, but I think Moving Pictures would be a better introduction to the era. My top recommendation from the third era would be Counterparts, but you already have that. So go with Roll The Bones and then maybe Test For Echo.

Well, let me know what you end up getting, and whether or not you like what you hear...and I'll continue to offer suggestions.

...Austin...

Michelle: The picture is so big I can see that they included a little pick pocket on the strap, like the rest of the Planet Waves straps. And I can *almost* read the series name on the headstock....been awhile since I've seen a picture of that particular one.

howdy folks-- one more tour date announced today-- april 9th in detroit! waiting for the onsale date info and will post as soon as it comes in.

also, starting this wednesday we'll be posting some really cool podcasts (video and audio) that i shot with joe last week at his home studio! there's 13 episodes and each one covers one song from the new album-- it includes joe playing a little bit, talking about the song, and then a ~45 second preview of the song, plus some other unreleased artwork from joe's sketchbook. new episodes will come out every mon/wed/fri until the album release date at which time they'll all be available and also incorporated into something very cool we'll be doing the end of that week. :}

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. As I've said on this day in years past, the song of the day for today is either Satch's Love Thing or the J. Geils Band's Love Stinks... ;-)

Either way, I hope everyone has a good day today.

alexandrecaetano - Hi...thanks for the message. This is my last semester of school (I graduate in May), and it actually isn't too difficult for me. I'm spending more time at my new job; I like that a lot. I actually can't wait for school to end, so I can work there full time. It'll be cool.
PhryDom - At work Sunday I listened to Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows, Hold Your Fire, Roll The Bones, Counterparts and 2112. A few days earlier I listened to Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures and Signals.

Tuesday I'll probably listen to A Farewell To Kings, Hemispheres, and maybe Test For Echo and Vapor Trails...

I'm bringing a few CDs into work each day and putting them on iTunes on one of the computers I use...it's awesome. Once I finish with Rush, I'll probably move on to Satch. :-)

michelle - Go back up a few posts and click on aussieRGman's blog link. Spiders!!! (well, okay, just one)...

SteveeT - no more jerry cans this year...

this is Clarky's year of the bayonet

Yoda - jeez it's been a while since I've listened to either if those guys... so my CD's are gathering dust somewhere in favour of Fear Factory and Opeth... lol...

so I can suggest album titles simply cos I'm too stupid to be able to remember them...

I don't think Remler did many albums, she died pretty young..
so if I recall correctly there are only two or three??
I have one and have heard another.. that they were both awesome...

I think the Taylor one I have is called The Spirit of Django or something like that...

he'll knock you flat...

Slansh - oh my god... if you're right I think I'll just have to hold on to my pennies.....

a next generation 2120 sounds very very exciting......

do you have any more info on it.. like launch dates etc??

Alexandre - my album is all recorded and mixed.... it sounds about as good as I think I can get it...

right now I'm saving up cash to go to master it....

in the mean time, I'm working with Maria to sort out my website and CD art.... so I have to write the bios and song notes etc etc...

I am writing new stuff too.....
my second album will be called Volume For and I've already writen a track for it called Space Time and Curvature Exotic...
the rough mix / demo version can be heard on my Soundclick site...

I'm hoping to master my album around late spring / early summer.... but it's all about money.....

if you not heard Space Time before, scope it out... I'd be interested to see what you think..

DCK - yeah the G-System has quite a rep..... I needs to go play...... but before I pay... I needs to see what this new Digitech thing it that Slansh is spreading vicious rumours about .. lmao..
Mikey - out of curiosity... what is your rig... amp and FX etc....

I never ever asked.... ad being a nosey bastard... I think I should.. lol..

Satriella - when is Joe next playing in London
