Traci, Michelle & AL: Ok then....Thought i pointed out his remarks for you to see it's not me. However you've obviously taken his side. Fine by me. I did nothing to instigate. Nothing happened that put in in a bad mood. I was in a great mood till I reads your post Cheese. I guess i'll always be an outsider......I just need to accept that. I was an outsider in HS & that's what made me who I am today. I know who my friends are........

Thanks.

Dear SteveeT, cheese101, Keniko, death cube k, alexandrecaetano, and ovation1

Thanks again for the warm welcome. Jon, since I know you are reading hello to you - how are you, oh webmaestro?

There are some real fans out there - 12/27/04 - I thought I was the only one who remembered the exact date - kudos...

Actually, I used to record my lessons and I still have a bunch of the tapes. When I was still in High School I used to follow the Dixie Dregs and my buddy and I became friendly with them and we would set up gear and get into the shows for free. One night at the Keystone Palo Alto I brought one of these tapes backstage, cued it to the appropriate spot and played it for Steve. He was duly impressed. I told Joe about it the next week at our lesson and he sanctioned me a little about playing a lesson tape for Steve, but I think he was happy to know that Steve said something to the effect of "your teacher can really play" - and how!

Stevee T - to answer your Q, I will be touring Europe in April opening for Gilby Clarke, and have been on hold about a US tour for a fab shredder, which would in theory have me coming through NYC. Thanks for asking...

Thanks again for the warm welcome. I will drop by from time to time to say hi. It is important to respect the point of this forum which is to let you guys interact with each other and with Joe. Thanks again for all your kind words!

Sincerely,
Doug

Cliff, Proco Rat huh? Yeah, give it a try! I recommend trying any kind of valve distortion pedal.....I know Hughes & Kettner make a "Rototube" (i think that's it's name) which sounds pretty fat, much like the Mesa/Boogie Bottle Rocket.

Why am I not surprised that it's the DS-1? I don't know, no real reason other than I've never really felt that my Boss MD2 was doing anything useful......I don't think there was much particularly wrong with it, it just sounded sh*t. But I dunno, I'm never surprised when stompboxes start causing issues!

That said, my marshall Bluesbreakers have never failed me. I don't use them as distrotion pedals now, of course, but I do still use one of them to boost the lead channel on the amp if I need some help. I do like the Marshall pedals, they're nicely built and have real character to their tone. I briefly tried a GVII once, through a knackered marshall 15w practice amp, and it sounded great!

I do reckon a valve pedal would be worth thinking about!

ovation1, hey thanks for checkin out the new tune, sensai! And thanks for the feedback and kind comments, I appreciate it!
Satriella, haha, cheers m'dear! I'm glad the new tune got the 'thumbs up', and thanks for posting the link again too! hehe, I'll definitely have to have you as my PR girl, you're doing such a fab job already :-D
For anyone interested in hearing (Unforgiven) Hammered, which I finished and uploaded yesterday, feel free to check it out here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=259685
mikesb, gosh, "Turn Away" sounds so different on the And-Thology album, and I'm guessing "Groove Or Die" is going to sound similarly unusual!

edit:

Arrrgggh my god this is such a good compilation! Blues For Carlos is killing me man, the Santana vibe is spot-on.......it would be so amazing to hear Andy play this with Carlos Santana himself as a guest!

edit:

mthead, thanks for checkin out the new tune buddy! I'm glad you're all liking it so far! Rock on!!

Mari.....

The problem wasn't with al. The problem actually started when you started yelling in caps at Ikuto and badgering him about being American Indian. He clearly wasn't interested in having that conversation, but you kept asking him questions referring to his herritage. When he didn't answer you quickly enough and as properly as you thought he should have, you kinda freaked out. Everyone but you seems to know when you're in a bad mood. Al could sense things going wrong, so he started saying funny stuff to let you know to drop it - but you got even more angry. Then, of course, the guys will go for your triggers to piss you off even more. I left when *I* started getting pissed off. I know when you have pms, and I knew you were in a bad mood, so I didn't want to start anything. Cheese tried to put it as nicely as possible to let you know that it wasn't all al. Sometimes you need a little SELF examination before you publicly slam somebody for something they're really not responsible for. You were pissed at Ikuto and took it out on al when he started trying to get you to let up on Ikuto. Turns out, the dude isn't even Native American - he's Japanese!!

The chat is fun. It's usually ALWAYS fun, and we go in there to end our day on a happy note. If your in a bad mood, either go in saying you're in a bad mood and leave when you feel you've had enough, or just don't go in at all that night. That's what I do. If you had a bad day and want to talk about it, you can always do that too and unwind a bit before bed, but don't go in just waiting for someone to say the wrong thing so you can unload on them. That's not fair. We ALL have bad days, but you have to learn that the chat is for FUN, not fighting. I don't want you to feel like an outsider. There is no "in crowd" in here. This place is for everyone. As I said many times before, if you go into a chat - any chat - with a 'tude, it's probably not going to end up pretty.

That's about all I have to say about that...

Good Morning Satchland...... What's up?

Just when you thought you've heard(read) it all....This happens:

Fla. Man Kills Roommate Over Toilet Paper By Associated Press Tue Feb 21, 5:18 AM

MOSS BLUFF, Fla. - A man accused of fatally beating his roommate with a sledgehammer and a claw hammer because there was no toilet paper in their home has been arrested.

Franklin Paul Crow, 56, was charged Monday with homicide in the death of Kenneth Matthews, 58, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Capt. Thomas Bibb said Crow initially denied his involvement, but confessed during questioning.

Crow told investigators that the men were fighting about the toilet paper over the weekend when Matthews pulled out a rifle. Crow said he then began beating Matthews with the sledgehammer and claw hammer, according to an affidavit.

Matthews was beaten so badly he had to be identified through his fingerprints, detectives said.

Crow was being held at the Marion County jail without bond. It was not immediately known whether he had an attorney.

If only someone could invent reusable toilet paper....Things like this could be avoided......lol..... I wonder if Bubba in prison has a good supply of toilet paper in his cell? I guess Franklin is going to find out.

Have A Great Day Everyone ! ! !

Keniko...what has really got me stumped is the guy on death row in CA, who had his execution stopped because he does'nt think its fair if the lethal injection causes him any pain. Now if I remember right, the guy kidnapped, tortured, raped and killed a 17 year old girl......umm...HELLO ??

Anyhow...it's all good right? lol...peace, SD

cube...I showed up late and missed everything...again. Shelley & Cheese have all the fun.
