Stevee T,

I listened to Harvest Ice, great song!

What program do you use to write out all the drum parts and bass parts? Im looking for a program that is easy to use and will work well with my Drumkit From Hell Superior Samples.

Thanks.

Delfino Pie...nice track...it let me space out on stuff....which to me is a sign of success!

Suzo...I do believe it was Joe's mom judging by what was happening surrounding the event...she looked very proud, and very sweet...I expressed how great I thought Joe was as a person & musician...she smiled, and kinda nodded..maybe it wasn't, and she was thinkin "who is this crazy guy"...lol

Suzie-2000: What is the dvd version of the Seville Concert like? Has it got the full set on it? The video that was on the BBC at the time cut a few tracks off (I'm especially looking for the live version of Get The Funk Out that was edited out).

962 - Hey, Simon! I don't have any Paul Gilbert stuff apart from the Guitar Wars dvd but that was awesome! I really like his sense of humour and his website is pretty funny too! He would be a great choice for the G3 tours.

My old guitar tutor took some of his students to a Paul Gilbert clinic a few years ago and he invited people to get up and jam. One of his students there got up and apparently held his nerve and actually gave a great account of himself on the night. I think it would all go by in a blur for me!

One question about your tip for my sound problem - when you said to put the Wolfgang after the wah and tuner, you do realise that the Wolfgang is my guitar? If so, how does this work???!

I've left my guitar in for a set up so they are going to check the wiring in case it's anything to do with that. If not I'll try the one pedal at a time test. It could be a problem with the clean channel on the amp. Do the overdrive/clean channels have seperate speakers? It sounded fine on the overdrive channels but I didn't try it for too long on the clean.

6 weeks until Gary Moore/BB KIng - woohoo! For all you Thin LIzzy/John Sykes fans, check out the 'new' Thunder and Lightning dvd from their last Irish tour, some fantastic performances!

Ailing Les Paul Misses Grammys, Tribute Concert

February 09, 2006, 9:25 AM ET

Electric guitar innovator Les Paul won two Grammy Awards last night (Feb. 8) for an all-star album marking his 90th birthday, but he was unable to pick them up in person because he is hospitalized in New Jersey with pneumonia.

Paul, whose name has adorned a brand of guitars used by rock stars since the 1950s, won his trophies in the pop instrumental performance category for the track "Caravan," and in the rock instrumental performance category for the track "69 Freedom Special," credited to Les Paul and Friends.

The tracks come from the Capitol album "Les Paul & Friends: American Made World Played," his first release since 1978's "Chester & Lester" with late Nashville icon Chet Atkins. That album marked the only other time he won a Grammy. The new CD features such guitarists as Jeff Beck, Billy Gibbons and Keith Richards accompanying Paul on classic rock and R&B songs.

Paul has been hospitalized near his New Jersey home since Friday, a spokeswoman for his label said. In a radio interview on Monday, he sounded chipper and vowed he would get better.

Ill health forced him to pull out of an all-star tribute concert in Los Angeles on Tuesday, featuring the likes of former Guns 'N Roses guitarist Slash, Aerosmith's Joe Perry, and bluesmen Buddy Guy and Hubert Sumlin, nut he appeared via satellite feed.

At 90, Paul is not the oldest winner in the Grammys' 48-year history. That honor goes to Elizabeth Cotten, who was 94 when she won the award for ethnic or traditional folk recording in 1985, according to a Grammys spokesperson.

Paul has been a dominant force in the music business since World War II. He and wife Mary Ford enjoyed a string of hits in the 1940s and '50s with such million-sellers as "Mockin' Bird Hill" and "How High the Moon."

A passionate tinkerer, he created one of the first solid-body electric guitars in 1941, and went on to pioneer multi-track recording. He played a key role in the birth of rock 'n' roll in the early 1950s when he teamed up with Gibson Guitar Corp. to help design a sleek model that bears his name. An instant success, its basic structure has barely changed over the decades.

Despite arthritis and hearing problems, Paul remains an indefatigable musician. He holds court every week at Iridium, a New York jazz club, often trading licks with youngsters who want to prove their mettle.

Stevee T & Suzie, here's a picture of Joe's mum from July 14, 2001 at the Beacon in NY. My husband and I talked to her a bit. She was very sweet and funny, and very proud of Joe and the band.

Zinc that's great (the black lab thing)... the Humane Society here do a most wonderful job (sometimes some of their rescues live at my building while waiting to be homed)... and yeah, the AJC (Atlanta Journal - Constitution) is the local paper here, and 404 is one of the local area codes here... do you happen to know if she got a home after all those calls? Speaking of where I live, I meant to post this earlier in the week, can't remember if I did...

I was so close I could touch him for 5 outa 6 shows.....WoW!! And I did when I met him after the shows......very cool stuff! EJ remembered me from the 1st time he met me up in Teaneck, NJ where Les Paul showed up.....Holy Mother Of Jesus!!!! What a night........EJ played for over 3 hrs, did like 6 or 7 encores! My thighs were touching his monitor & the stage.......then I got to meet him & get the set list autographed as if my night was Not good enough.......lmao!!
