Hi Joe,

Just heard your podcast for "Redshift Riders" It sounds very cool. I was a little puzzled by your explanation for "using redshift" What you described sounded more like the gravitational slingshot that they use to accelerate spacecraft. Redshift refers to a lengthening of measured wavelengths due to objects moving away from each other as well as the expansion of the universe-sort of like the lowering of pitch as an ambulance siren speeds away from you.

Just in case you're interesting. Looking forward to the album and seeing you in concert again.

Thanks for mentioning Thin Lizzy. It's important to remember where it all started for some of us 'mature' players. I got to meet Phil and the boys in the states when they broke out over here with the 'Fighting' album. Brian Robertson aka Robbo was but a teenager at that time yet one of the fastest and cleanest players I'd ever seen. The double-leads with Scot G. were blazing. I'm glad that Sykes continues to carry the torch even if the current Lizzy is only reminiscent of the originals, a true tribute to Phil Lynott. Diatonic is better than catatonic, but I prefer gin and tonic.

Hi Joe, I have a 15 yr. old son who's been playing the guitar for several years and is awesome. You're his idol. His Dad and I surprised him with tickets to see you in Chicago on April 5th, which I bought from ticketmaster, then found this site and saw we could have bought from here and he would have been able to meet and greet. Is that still possible or even a note from you would mean the world to a young guitar player. Thanks, MaGee

Olly - The simplest name for that chord would probably be Dm(add9)/A. So it's a D minor triad with an added ninth, in second inversion.

Austin: Thanks for your suggestions. We were planning on driving back to PA after the show. If I find a parking garage that is too far to walk from maybe I will be riding in one of those new-fangled subways :)

I will have to find out from my son, TomJr ,where we are going to be seated. He has the tickets in hand since he bought me mine for a Christmas gift. I will let you know when I find out and perhaps we can exchange a few "heys".

michelle: Thanks for your input! I sure wouldn't appreciate having my car locked away for the night in NYC :(

Stevee T Again, thanks for your suggestions. Its nice to have friends on this board. I read just about every post, except for Wolf2's heheh. i guess I am a lurker........

Hi Satchies,

Wow I am so overwhelmed....you have all been so kind about my pictures...I don't know what to say....I really don't deserve all the nice-ness you people give...

I tend to feel that the song line:
"Somewhere ahead is the back of the line"
Very much applies to me in everything...but you guys make me feel like I'm at the front of the queue!

Thank you for making me feel so special

BIG HUGS TO ALL SATRIELLA XX

Hello again,

Hey ever had that Friday feeling....Oh my word I worry about myself sometimes...Fridays I am kind of known for having a bit of a giggle fit...mostly cos when it's quiet you can hear these two girls in the other office..and they sound exactly like Beavis & Butthead when they laugh...so it always sets us off...but not today...no...I casually say "Time I had a Friday giggle fit don't you think" (not feeling in the least bit funny)...so the girl I sit next to says..."Oh yeah, you laugh at anything on a friday don't you" ...pointing to a water bottle on her desk she adds "Look at that bottle, that's funny!"...the worrying thing is that I absolutely fell apart...tears rolling down my face, stomach and jaw aching from laughing about it for a good 5-10 minutes....hmmmm anyone else get that friday feeling...or am I just crazy?

Phyrdom - yay best link ever thanks for that...hmm lots of slushy stuff....just like lightnin has to be my favourite overall, althoug crowd chant is really good too...I think we all gonna be joining in on that one!!

peaceandguitars - yay - i definately care and I do rejoice muchly to see your name again! Consider the search called off...but i am gonna keep em on stand-by just in case you disappear again OK! glad you got it together in your head...that's the hard part done with...stay happy

cuthbert1776 - thank you for being my PA man! :)

NammMan - more of the same...they cracked me up too!

Cheese101 - sorry I haven't been up at 4am much lately hehe hope you not giving Blue too hard a time...thank you for your lovely comments honey!

Guitarmeister - doodling is good...more the inner person coming out...hmmm maybe joe is really an alien...what do you think...his playing is certainly out of this world!...speaking of out of this world...hmm you like me...go quiet when things not going too well....OK I've been there honey.....but just remember everyone here luvs ya and we don't want yaz to be gone too long cos we would miss you....you also like me thinking that things have to be exactly perfect to be good enough...hmmm that can be good and bad....I know...but I am still like it! Strive for excellence rather that perfection (this helps me sometimes:

Excellence is the willingness to be wrong
Perfection is always being right
Excellence is risk
Perfection is fear
Excellence is powerful
Perfection is anger & Frustration
Excellence is accepting
Perfection is judgement
Excellence is giving
Perfection is taking
Excellence is confidence
Perfection is doubt
Excellence is flowing
Perfection is pressure
Excellence is journey
Perfection is destination
Excellence is surrender
Perfection is consuming
Excellence is trust
Perfection is selfishness

In order to strive for excellence you don't have to be perfect!

njbeast - av you still got your pics...post em for us to see?...trouble is...now I av drawn a car...my son wants me to do loads of them....I am a bit of a coward though...I will probably stick to faces...

alexandrecaetano - thank you for your comment too...hope you feeling better and the weather has improved!

Ollyno1uk - welcome back!

js1200js1000 - BUSY EH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HUGS

Clarky - OK...your getting all technical now...I'm losing it..I'm losing it...where am I...what was that you say....

Hugs Satriella xx

Haven't logged on and posted anything in here in probably a solid two years, and frankly I'm shocked I still remember my password, but... Hi. :) Still listening to a ton of Joe, it's not like I lost the faith or anything, but... Idunno, just playing a lot on my own and busy helping to get sevenstring.org off the ground and whatnot. Anyway, just wanted to send a "what's goin on" towards anyone who remembers me around these parts, and say that I'm psyched about the new CD... Cheers!
