Guitarmeister: I'm sure you've seen me whoring the JSX on here before haah! I think they're great amps! To any one that is using Joe's JSX tone as a bench mark, I would say that me with my guitar sound very diff through the JSX than Joe does with his hands/gear. Also, the JSX is very responsive to the wood of the guitar.....if you have a basswood guitar, you can run the trebble and presence up high, like Joe does on his amp settings, if you have a balanced resonant mahog body (has lots of mids and high upper mids) you have to run the presence and trebble low. Basically the JSX will react very diff based on the guitar and player. I get a very smooth sound....like Vai's legacy tone, but with more definition in the bass end. I would tell you that the JSX Crunch channel alone has tons of amps in that channel. As far as other amps...check out the fender super sonic. It's a new amp that is just being introduced. It looks like a renaming/ repackaging of the Fender Prosonic that they quit making a few years back. The prosonic had a very liquid EJ type sound to the drive if I remember, and a Twin type sound to the clean.

OCPS470 Thanks for the info. I'll check it out, even though I'm pretty set on either the JSX or Mesa Solo 50.

I finally got EJ's 'Live in Austin' DVD this weekend along with Opeth's 'Lamentations' (Live at Shepherd's Bush Empire). I really haven't watched the EJ DVD much yet, the Opeth DVD is unbelievable! The 1st set is a clean/acoustic set, 2nd set the 'real' Opeth. But, from what I've watched so far on the EJ DVD, he was on fire, luckily that was caught on tape! I'm watching/listening to the Opeth 'Lamentations' DVD right now.... I missed them last week! They played in NY! And I knew they were in NY! Even if I would have went, the show was sold out anyway, I found out about it too late. Talk to you all later.

JOE: What are the guitar settings, sounds, amps and effects for this upcoming new tour?

Are you planning to play old songs or the new material?

What do you prefer: Ear Monitors or Regular monitors (speaker)?

And lastly: Can you make a CD with all your ballads, something like: "Satriani's best Ballads".?....I'm sure all of your fans will love that.....best wishes...

GTR miester - I have the Mesa Dual rectifier. I had used a solid state for years just because I wanted the stability. But, now that I have played through a tube amp (and I only use it for power) the warmth that it brought into my tone was amazing. Plus, the bass is much tighter. Anyway my $.02. Good luck with your search.

Happily Married, if you're looking to sell both without making a loss then I wish you all the luck in the world......you'll always make a loss on a guitar unless it's something really special, like Jimi Hendrix's burned Strat or something...

Also, how come both guitars are in considerably better condition than when you bought them? What was wrong with them when you got them?

Conversion currently seems to have settled around the 1.8 US Dollars to the GB Pound.

Guitarmeister, you should try a Dual Rectifier......of the single, dual and triple, the Dual is the best in my opinion. But Boogies are sooo expensive, and I know you'd have an absolute blast with a JSX.
HrH Fish, "I was just giving you a different light to see things in"...yeah I appreciate that, but it's not necessarily fair to assume that I haven't considered modal theory in this light already! Having looked at it from different perspectives I've decided on the approach that I like best...

This is not a ticket but if it were within my power you would have a dozen. In your Pig headed, inconsiderate, feeble attempt at parking, you have taken up enough room for a 10 mule team, 3 elephants, 1 ass and a safari of prostitutes from London. You have been given this so that in future you may think of someone else apart from yourself. Anyway I dislike domineering, egotistical or stupid drivers and you probably fit into all of these catagories. I sign off wishing you an early major break-down on a deserted motorway about 2-00 am. May the fleas of a thousand dogs infest your armpits. WITH COMPLIMENTS
