Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone had any leads on any signed pix of Joe. I just opened a guitar / music studio in Maryland and thought it would be inspirational to have something like that on the wall for the kids to see.
Thanks inadvance!!

marimariSRV Thanks for your thoughts on that song. That song isn't anything crazy at all, pretty simple. I've listened to that song over and over just because that solo I laid down in it is really, really good (in my opinion). Fits the song real well and has a little bit of everything - legato, sweeping, tapping, arpeggios, and at one part a pretty fast (and very clean) 3 notes-per-string runs.
-I'll be recording some covers with a friend, I'll be doing all the guitar work. Here's what we'll be doing:
-Joe Satriani - Lifestyle
-Dream Theater - Silent Man
-Metallica - Unforgiven (I'm just doing the solo for it, I didn't really want to cover any Metallica, never really was a huge fan of them...but, they do have some good songs)
These next few are instrumentals I'll be doing everything in:
-Joe Satriani - Tears In The Rain (I'm working on adding a 2nd, and maybe 3rd guitar into the song, wait till you hear what I've added to it, it's coming along real nicely!)
-Steve Vai - Whispering A Prayer
-I might do a few other songs by Joe, Vai, Petrucci, and Gilbert...
-I'm just doing covers for now until I get totally aquanted with recording on my computer.
-Once they are done, I'll post up a link for everyone to check them out...then you can let me know what you think.
Joe Satriani COME TO NJ ON THIS TOUR! I know you are playing in NY and PA, but I'm already going to about 5 or 6 shows before you play in NY, I'll be in NY two times in the next few months...and most likely will spend a huge amount of money in the next few weeks...I need you to come somewhere close (NJ)!!!
-kmittleman THat's an awesome idea! If you pre-order Joe's newest album, you get a free autographed booklet signed by Joe! There's a start. Also, order the poster that Joe is selling on this site, when I ordered mine a year or two ago it came signed by Joe. I know I'm not the only one who got a signed poster either, someone else recently said they ordered one and it came signed.

There is a rock formation in Utah on I-84 that is called Devil's Slide. I was wondering if there is any connection to the song of the same name. If you have ever seen Devil"s Slide you will understand why it has that name. The intensity of the song fits with the wild and ruggedness of the rock formation.
Thanks for any response.
Also, Joe I want to thank you for the excellent music you have brought to the world. You are truely gifted.

Just checked out the podcast, super colossal seems like it's going to be great. The song super colossal sounds awesome. I like the octave effect, it's not the Fulltone Ultimate Octave like I was expecting it to be, I'm pretty sure I heard an octave above and below at the same time...sounds very BIG!
-Listening to Vai's 'The Ultra Zone' right now... Lucky Charms - what a crazy song, strange but awesome! Fever Dream is great, one of my (many) favorites, mainly because of the intro riff, once I 1st heard the song I had to figure out that riff, then it turned into figuring out the whole song.

webmaster - Thanks for the updates.
I can hear the audio tracks just fine, but I can't see the videos. The podcast page says Quicktime 7 is required...I went to Apple's download page, and it says QT7 is only compatible with Windows 2000 and XP (I have Windows ME; I tried the Quicktime upgrade anyway but it wouldn't work).
I've never had problems with any of the webcasts here in the past, but these videos just aren't working for me. I guess there's not a way to make the videos compatible with older versions of Quicktime (*.mov files instead of *.m4v files)?
Oh well...I can still hear the audio, as I said, and I guess I can try to watch the videos on my computer at work later on. Thanks again...I'm sure they'll work for most people, just not me with my dinosaur of a computer. ;-)
...Austin...

I have a few autographed things from Joe. One I got from his management company (send them a letter, self-addressed stamped envelope) and a few months later - in the mail arrived a nice signed photo and a pic.
I have also gotten Joe's autograph at one of my local music stores - he stopped in for an event - they took pictures and I was able to get 1 thing autographed.
I also met him after one of the shows (platnium package) and got 2 pictures with him and my ticket and pass signed.
Good luck - great idea !!

Watching the Ibanez 90th Anniv. show (again), Gilbert set is too good, too short but it's made up for with the huge riff Gilbert plays, Timmons shredding it up, and then back to Gilbert... Now, gotta speed through to the jam and watch that a few times.

My anal-retentive boss scheduled a two-hour
meeting with me to talk about the meanings of
"meticulous," "conscientious" and "focused,"
but I pretty much tuned out after the first
five minutes.
And because he wasted half my
afternoon, I now have to turn in this half-
finished report, but I think he'll understand.

glad y'all are digging the podcast action as much as we are! and yes, it is a sad thing that itunes/quicktime7 doesn't work on the super old windows machines :{ consider it some motivation to upgrade your 5-year old + computer! since the videos are specifically for the iPod&podcast they need to be in qt7 to look their best.
starting later tonight/tomorrow you'll be able to search for the podcast within itunes and apple will also be featuring it starting wednesday in their "new & notables" section.
also, here are some direct links i got that'll launch it in itunes in the meantime.
Video podcast
Audio podcast
don't forget-- new episode tomorrow and then the NAMM webcast + contest friday!
