Hi Joe, I started playing guitar about 2 and a half years ago (roughly), Starting off ovbiously i wasnt very good. I saw you, along with deep purple and thin lizzy in KC and was absolutely amazing with your skills and showmanship. This chanced teh way i wanted tyo play guitar and how much effort i put into playing. I now play over 3 hours a day after school and am one of the best guitar players in school and have incorperated the way you play into the way I do. I was overwelmed with happiness when i saw that you are coming to KC again on your super colossal tour and I will for sure be there!

I was watching the Ibanez 90th Anniv. show today...Timmons does his own thing for about 16 minutes (and also plays through the whole entire thing), Paul Gilbert played for about, maybe, 2 minutes (I wanted to see more Gilbert!), then Vai played for around 5-7 minutes, I didn't get to watch the whole thing with him yet. Then, all three guys jam...anyone else see this? I bet Gilbert came up with the lyrics for the jam, it had to be him (he sings about how Ibanez and Laney amps are the best.)
MarimariSRV I thought the Nokia Theatre show would be closer. As long as I don't spend more than I'm thinking in NY next week, I'm definitly going to see Satch at Nokia Theatre. Let me know what you think of that song so far, nothing else was done yet (lyrics, bass, or drums) we couldn't get them done due to the snow today. There will be more to come, including that one finished. They will probably be posted up on Soundclick.com, I'll post the link.
-Anyone seeing Dream Theater before April 1st, or already see them on their latest tour? Are they selling the 'Hammer of the Gods' DVD at the shows?

Dear Joe, Just a note to say THANK YOU! for all of the incredible music through the years.Congratulations on the new album,I'm sure none of us will be dissapointed.I can't wait to get it. A little bit about myself, as this is my first time posting...I'm a 40 year old ,former frustrated guitarist who as I got older and had to concentrate on making a buck, paying the bills and all else that life brings one, gradually drifted away from playing I've been lucky enough to see you live three times here in Seattle, the first time on the G3 tour w/SteveVai&Eric Johnson at the Paramount ,Once at the Moore theater and most recently at the Showbox theater last year, which was an unbelivable show by the way. When you played Flying In A Blue Dream it brought tears my eyes! I was in the grocery store the other night and saw the new Guitar World magazine with you on the cover and bought it(the first in many years) The article and CD-rom lessons were great and I am actually looking at new guitars.Anyway, thanks again for the music and inspiration.I hope you can make it back to the beutiful Pacific Northwest on this tour! Mike Kenworthy,Seattle Wa.

I got to listen to six Rush albums at work tonight...awesome. :-)
Guitarmiester - The HOTG CD/DVD were just released, and Dream Theater is currently between tour legs. So no one has an answer for that question yet.
I know the band has been selling their Ytsejam Records releases on the road, but those are Dream Theater releases. I don't know if they'd sell a side project like HOTG.
nitromike66 - Hi...welcome to the site. :-)

nice to hear you released a new album
i am a guitarist, playing on a very beautiful Ibanez RG 470CB. the sound given by the Joe satriani and Steve Vai signature pickups is just wonderful. i can get the same sound as joe's on his last albums. there is no need to own a JS SERIE to get his sound. i play on a Roland Amp with the Cosm modelisation which gives me the R rectifier sound from mesa boogie amps. i get joe 's sound and tone . its just wonderfull
i have been playing bass for many years and i became a master of the bass.then i decided to start playing guitar on a ibanez model with the edge pro bridge and signature pickups. i playu only lead and solos. i am allways practising on joe 's songs and i can play stuff like Summer song or Satch boogie or even Surfing with the alien. i am always practising on his songs in order to get enough knownledge in order to make my own music and find my own path. i am not copiing.
i am french and i live in qatar. good to hear the release of the new album, i will have new stuff to work on.
what i love about satch's music is his blues side, like in big bad moon or slown down blues. in fact his music gives me inspiration and power to practise more and more to be the best and make my own way.
as i have been playing bass , i have a instinct knowledge of the fretboard, i mean i have no idea of the name of the notes bu i know what sound i will get buy playing on any case. so i can make new stuff and learn very easily as it is like automatic.
it would be awsome if you could come at DUNESTOCK in qatar, this is like the woodstock but it is in the desert.
have a nice day
Steph ,

Plum Loco has been my call sign for about 8 or 9 years on this site and on other sites... I might not have left alot of messages on here like some other people, but I read it every day... I just might not have anything to add or talk about... nothing good anyways... just lately it seems things are just like a box of chocolates for me...
Bear has actually been my nickname that my parents gave me since I was born, nearly 34 years ago... short form for Barrie...
hope that helps!!!
Peace Out

Guitarmiester, yeah those are Paul's lyrics on the jam. "I-ba-nez, and la-ney amps are the coo-lest" haha, what a legend.
Andy doesn't play through the whole show, although it would be fine by me if he did 'cause his performance is by far the most exciting. Vai's set sucks, especially because of his apalling tone, Paul's set is short but sweet, but Andy just kills. And in the jam too!
