Hi Joe. I came across the most interesting album the other day and thought you'd be interested. Paul Oakenfold -- world-famous dj and mixer (http://www.pauloakenfold.com/bio.php?id=1) - he's done lots of stuff with U2, the soundtrack to the movie "Swordfish", grammys, etc. - started making his own albums a few years ago. One trend I've noticed -- he likes guitar riffs. A very recent album in particular, "Feed Your Mind", has rather extensive guitar tracks. Many of them are *very* Satriani-esque, and the entire album has many parallels with Engines of Creation in general style (though it obviously doesn't have any nice solos). Anyway, I think you might find it very interesting if you haven't heard it already. You two might even be interested in some collaboration (not a bad business idea, either -- he definitely brings in some $$$). I "know a guy who knows a guy" who knows him, so I'm going to try to get some of your stuff into his hands, too. Please check it out if you can - I think the two of you could make some great tracks.

Oakenfolds a bit cheesy. Check out Askasi ( I think) Heavy Metal guitars and psytrance. Thats what Im doin bud Hardhouse wiv guitars. You should also check out Lab4 @ www.lab4.com (workin with them 2nite) and also Senser.

I'd like to see Joe do a track with Lab4. They are the biggest live act on the hard dance scene at the moment. It would make their day cos Lez plays guitar and they are both big satriani fans. I've got their number Joe.......

962, thanks for the reply. I called the venue this morning and they told me that the artist lets them know if pics are allowed to be taken. I was told to call back closer to the show date to find out. I have a small digital camera, so it should not be a problem. Will have to wait a bit to find out for sure. Either way I can't wait to see Joe and Eric in Houston. I bought the gold package and got seat 3 row 3. Take care

Hello again all -

Just want to see what you think of my band, we're a bit indie, new wave and alternative - not any kind of Satch stuff, but we're proud of it.

Cheeeers guys

P.S - this is the second time I've posted this message, and I will continue to do so until I get feedback :-)

Good Morning Satchland...... How Are U ?

I just finished watching Joe' section of the Guitar World's April issue CD ROM( Finally got to Dominicks last night )Wow ! ! ! It's GREAT ! ! ! This is what I've been waiting for for a long time. I've asked Joe in the past that he should come out with an instructional DVD on his techniques. Joe would say his schedule prevents him from doing just that. You can imagine the schedule he keeps. Anyway, this is the next best thing and I abSOULutly LOVE IT ! ! ! With the Pod Cast on Super Colossal and GW April issue.....I'm in heaven( wait a minute I'm on Earth....lol.....) I think it's a great idea Joe doing these interactive QT movies. This brings us closer to him and that's always a good thing.

Joe..... Thanks again. I would like to expand on this idea a little. How about if you work with Guitar World and come out with your own magazine say every 6 months. You could have Peavey, Ibanez, Electro-Harminix sponser you. The mag would be about your techniques and your ideas on everything related to your songs and music. It would be interactive like the April CD Rom. You could pick a song you'd disect for us with each issue. You could talk about your approch to music therory and what scales you use for that particular song and why it works. I'm not talking about a 100 page mag. Something short like the April CD Rom. You could offer a subscribtion but only offer it to individuals that have a subsribtion to Guitar World so there not cut out. They would most likely subsribe to the Guitar World just to recieve your mag. Just like I'm sure many have because of your April issue. I think Electronic Musician magazine does this with Pro Tools. I think millions could benefit by this. So what do you think? Just a thought. Take Care. See you in Chicago on April 5th.

HEY ! ! ! Satchland....What do you think of my idea? Am I crazy?

Have A GReat Day Everyone ! ! !

Heres another one...

Differences between UK and US..

If Desperate Houswives was made in the UK it would done differently. The UK version would have a crack mother selling her babys pampers so she can get a fix. Another one would be bin diving for tonights tea. It would also be based in a rough council estate rather than a nice posh suburb road...

In the UK the higher you live the poorer you are (council blocks) UK equivilent of project neighbourhoods in the US or trailer parks

In the US the higher you live the richer you are

Satriella Hey.... I've been alittle busy lately, finally recording some stuff. Haven't gotten much done yet, only got the rhythm guitar parts down for one of my lighter songs and did the solo for it. I didn't get to work on any of my other originals yet, the persons house I've been recording at, he's very impressed with my guitar playing and has been bugging me to add to his songs, either put a solo in it or just do all the guitar parts. Once I get more recording done, I'll post up a link for everyone to check out. If you want to hear the one song I've gotten all the guitar parts down to (but nothing else yet), leave me your email address and I'll send you the song (mp3).

Joe Satriani The album is sounding AWESOME so far! Can't wait till it comes out! COME TO NJ!

-How horrible! I walk out of school and it was so nice out, all sunny and everything, talking to a friend about how nice it's been the past few days and she goes on about how great the day is going so far (+ the great weather)...sitting here typing this, look out the window and no sun?! Storm clouds rolling in...wait...just started raining!

Satriella..... Thanks for the email link to your sketches. They are very, very nice. Check out my son Sean's art site. You two share a common thread. I can't draw s..t. Let me know what you think. Hugs

Edit....The link is not working. I don't know what's wrong. It's the right URL. You'll have to type in Sean's address manually. Thanks.

962- I totally agree- that really is crap about the Sony Store. What a shame they are so narrow-minded. For goodness sakes it wouldn't be too tough to ship CDs overseas would it... Will have to wait and see about the UK platinum packages, I wonder how long it will be til it gets announced....

Satriella- wow you are a very talented artist- do you work from prints, photos etc? I particularly loved your Adam Ant one- the very first 7inch single I ever bought was "Prince Charming"- I still love his music!

NSPike- Keep your hair on! I listened to your music earlier in the day, didn't get a chance to post though til now. Excellent stuff, your band sounds very tight. Are you gigging with your material? I liked the one "Trust me on this." Good luck with it! :)

Dejan- Just been listening to your tracks- I loved the track "Waxer," quite different to the other ones, very versatile styles you have there! Welcome to the site by the way :)
