Theres an amazing Brazilian guitarist named Kiko Loureiro. I was on holiday in Salvador Brazil last week and checking out some satriani, vai and malmsteen cds, then the lady there showed me some his (kiko's) songs. He'd be awesome for another G3 tour. Also Mika Tyyska would be awesome to see on stage with Joe and steve, tho i guess he's not really and music cd selling artist. Though he has the coolest guitar shredding website on the planet! check it out at http://www.guitarshredshow.com/

MariMariSRV. Steve vai didnt play Over the Rainbow or Beethoven's 5th. If you go to his official website in the faq section he explains it and gives the actual artists' names. peace out

OCPS470: Hey Chris! Sorry for not replying to your last email. I got 25 messages in 1 day last week...I think that's my record! It's tough for me to keep up sometimes. I'll be in the Orlando area for my sis's wedding but i'll be there for 2 days...flying in Sat night 4/8 after driving back from seeing JOe in Greensburg on Fri night. Wedding Sunday (?) chill Monday and fly home on Tuesday 4/11. Should be a blast!! I'm also going to the Boca Raton show. Are you going?! I hope so, it would be so cool to see you!! If not I'll be returning to Fla another time I'm sure.........we will meet eventually. I'm looking forward to it!

Do The Stu: Good Point but you need to remember this is not an EWJS or ITLIS? tour.....it's JOe and EJ touring together! 2 headliners.....JOe called it a G-2 when he stopped in the chat. EJ's schedule has to be taken into consideration as well. They are touring the states for April then heading to Europe. That is not much time to cover the country by bus......EJ and JOe tour by bus mostly from what I know. Don't want them to burn them selves out trying to cover every State, there's only 30 days in a month! ;-)) EJ has 2 South America (Brazil) dates on his tour schedule already in June (?). They may have already been booked prior to his tour with JOe, not sure. It's possible he may do a West Coast EWJS after he returns home from Europe....I hope so! I'd love to fly out for a few shows of Just JOe. I also know that the Clapton "CrossRoads Festival" is supposed to be happening this year (it was in June last time) and EJ was asked to return so was VAi. They each talked to me about it....I want to be there this time! Never know if it'll happen again....... I don't think that the West Coast or other areas (Philly) should give up hope yet, it just maybe in the fall which is a lovely time of year here for JOe to visit. *Hint* *Hint* Congrat's on your graduation Austin!! I'll make sure I talk to JOe & EJ about it when I see them in April. Trust me, I'll be looking out for everyone here. ;-))

Okay, this is prolly gonna label me as a big nerd but......

I really do love the song Moonlight Serenade...especially when it's done by Glenn Miller....

....when I was a teenager, my aunts and uncles and cousins used to all come visit us here in Oregon....they'd come from Washington and California and we'd have a big ole family reunion just about every year. Of course, us kids did our best to find all kinds of ways to get into trouble the entire time...after all, we only saw each other once a year, so we had stuff to make up for!!

....but at night, when things would settle, talk always turned to more adult things and us kids liked to sit and listen and pretend we were grown up too...and always, someone would put on a record and the dancing would begin!! Heck, they could really jitterbug and fling themselves around.....it was hysterical for us to watch the "oldsters" shakin their booties....lol...

...but they would always end the night with this song...ladies' heads on their husbands shoulders....such sweet memories of such simple and good times.....

This song came on tonight while I was at my parent's house for dinner....and I caught their look they gave each other across the table and just smiled....and yes, teared up too.....

So yeah.....and now back to our regularly-scheduled Joe-program!!

Hey Joe, Have you ever considered creating a MySpace page? I think that would be a great idea. I just noticed that Steve Vai has an official Steve Vai page on MySpace. There are a bunch of poser/imposters on there right now claiming to be you, but we all know, there is only one Satch. Anyway, just a thought. BTW, I had the honor of seeing you perform at the House of Blues in Chicago a while back. I had to drive 2 1/2 hours to get there, but it was all worth it. Thank you!

Hi Friends - OK crazy Sandy is gone and Satriella is back!

Phew I got some catching up to do!

peaceandguitars - how ya doing....don't think I av seen you post lately...so c'mon we need to know your OK every now and again...the place is not the same without you

Keniko - Thanks for the cheer up message...and wow yours son's (Sean) work is amazing! i mean really amazing....you can tell he was taught properly to draw...I just do it for fun..self taught..as you can tell hehe...hey and the added bonus that now I know what you look like :) Anyway I hope you tell him how fantastic he is at drawing from me! And if he can give me any tips...well, sure need em!

ovation1 - Ahhh thanks for your lovely message bout my artwork...people are always sharing their guitarwork here, can't do that so drawing is the only, ahem, "talent" I have...but it is very therapeutic when your down...so I guess it does have some use hehe

Suzie2000 - Thank you to you too twice...yes I have to work from a picture...usually out of a magazine or something...so I'm more of a forger than an artist hehe. Yes I loved Adam Ant's music too...all the drums I think...especially Ant Music...it was just different to other stuff...anything with loads of drums or loads of guitar is usually great.. I guess that is why I drew him cos I was into his stuff at the time.

HrhFish - That was a lovely message from you...the bit about lots of friends on here...when you are really down....I don't know I guess all the good stuff seems to get blocked out of your head...do ya know what I mean...you just feel bad about everything! But hey yep...I know I got it good...especially all my good friends on here...thank you...I will try to find a picture of Sid James to do...may be hard to come by though...pictures off the net tend to be too grainy...but I will have a look...and if I find one I will do it specially for you :)....yes I love doing older faces like your uncle..no not that your uncle has an old face...that's not what I meant hehe...that's why Paul Newman is the best picture...took the longest cos there is so much detail in the face!

guitarpicker - thank you! Are you new here.....if you are welcome aboard :)

The Forgotten Boy - Hey good to see you posting again....so Joe's a Prophet eh! What's his prediction for the future....do yaz think! Good to see ya got your priorities straight though...that's what I need to do! oooo and thank you for making my picture your wallpaper...I'm very honoured and touched....

Tuvster - It was great talking to you the other day...sorry I didn't end up coming back...but thanks for your help anyway...and though I couldn't hear what you sounded like on your guitar...I'm sure I will one day :) You looked pretty good at guitar on the webcam!!

NSPike - Yeah.....Liking your sound...always did like SKA(ish) type of music good to hear it coming back. Thanks for the link

marimarisrv - oooo that was close.....glad you didn't get a ticket...phew!

to be continued...

Talking of Phew...must...stop...for...breather!!!!

OK

guitarmeister - Thanks for the update on your music...your a very busy guy....look forward to the link...hmmm yet another one to add to my favourites...I will have to sort that out soom or it will be off the screen....Beethoven's 5th and Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Somewhere over the rainbow is so good, if you haven't heard Steve Vai's version, I suggest you check it out....hmmmm that's strange no I haven't heard him do either of these....where are they?

Clarky - Oh good...glad it's not gonna change...I hate it when things change..when they are good already I mean....but hey if you think you can improve it...who am I to argue, considering I know nothing about guitars...except how good they sound ...hehe...lol

mthead101 - Aww thank you....I really think Joe is actually my worst picture...I am a stickler for getting my drawings absolutely right...and that one isn't his face is too wide and not long enough...but I will give him another go later...I am doing Samuel L Jackson at the moment...oh and it usually takes me about 8 hours to do a portrait...hard to tell cos I usually do a bit at a time...and come and go...but yeah...I drew Elijah Woods on Saturday...actually that took more like 5 hours...but there is not much detail in his face...Paul Newman took around 10 hours...although the funny thing about him is I started him when I was 15...then I got fed up half way through and didn't pick it up again for 10 years!...now that is slow work! lol

bahduh - thanks for asking mate....yep as you can see from the above...I am feeling a lot better...can't shut me up now.........again!

Dejan - Hey like the look of your website...looks really cool and the Music is great too...just listening to Discovery now....fantastic stuff!

Ok did I miss anyone..oh yes forgot to say...

962 - Before Dejan I was on your soundclick as usual...and your songs have done really well...Silver Rain is no 52 Airhead 56, Powerhouse 55....that's really good considering there are thousands on there...be proud of yourself mate!...Hope you are OK by the way :)

hey...I don't remember seeing Zinc for a day at least...are you OK too?

Powerslave - sorry to abandon you like that the other day!

Plum Loco, JS1200js1000,cheese101, Blue Moon, Gotta Have Joe....Oh there are just too many to mention now...

All of you guys...thanks for being so great!

And remind me not to be away so long next time hehehehehehehehe....or you will get another post like this! I think that is warning enough...lol

Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig Hugs to all Satriella xxxxxxxxx

OCPS470, oh of course man, don't get me wrong, I think Dave LaRue's a fabulous bass player! I love hearing his mark stamped all over Steve Morse's stuff......it'll just be interesting to see how tight he's stretched, playing for both dudes!

ovation1, hahaha, oh man I'm crackin up.....I can just see Joe rolling up to some rickety old ranch on a Harley, you know the sort of place, out in the middle of nowhere some wood-and-tin shack type structure going on in the middle of an area which used to be fenced off. And there's Pat Badger chasing 200 Ostriches round a field :-p hehehe
climber, try not to think of modes as being written for a purpose. They just "are". A major scale has 7 different notes in it.....if you play a 1-octave scale you play 8 notes with the last one being the same as the first one. You can start that scale on any one of the 7 notes, so Position 1 (Ionian) starts from the root note, Position 2 (Dorian) starts from the 2nd and so on. In this context it means that all 7 modes are just components of the same scale.

ie. if you play a B Dorian over an A Major chord your scale will still sound like an A Major scale, and the same if you play C# Phrygian over an A Major chord.

However, each of these modes has a unique sound and structure in it's own right. So if you keep your C# Phrygian and change your chord to a C Minor you've suddenly got a completely different sound.

Sorry, that's about the best explanation I can come up with in a hurry....I usually spend weeks teaching people this stuff! haha. Hope it helps anyway :-]

Satriella, awww, thanks for the "PUBLIC NOTICE", that was really sweet! Also thanks for the feedback on my soundclick stats....I've never really thought about it, but 52 out of tens of thousands is pretty good I guess! :-D

Hugs
