DEATHCUBE / 962: Thanks for the advice... we do have a good electro-acoustic classical guitar, by Tony Johnson (estimated value £3000) which we luckily bought for £1000. Lovely guitar with huge variety of tones... also we have a much cheaper Granados electro-acoustic classical, which has been very loyal to us, has a real sweet tone. Also that one has a Fishman pick-up. Something about the Euphoria guitar is reeling me in though! Will try and find somewhere local that stocks it before buying though obviously.

Thanks again for the advice though I do appreciate it. :)

seeing as how we are all satch fans, i thought this is place to ask a gear question. On his (joes) dunlop 959Q wah, where does he set the knobs to get his killer wah tone?

OllyNo1, Chris (OCPS470) pointed me in th direction of a THD Hotplate to help deal with the volume issue with a valve amp. I have to say it's the coolest bit of kit I've invested in. It takes the load off the amp signal before it goes to the cab, so you get all the great cranked-valve-amp tone, but at an easy-listening level that won't bother the neighbours. It's superb!

Yeah I went to see Vai in London last summer.....you didn't go? Hmm, it was allright, but not the best show of his I've been to. Did you see Paul Gilbert's clinic at Canford School? That was one of the best shows I've been to, he was absolutely jaw-dropping.

mthead, aww thanks dude, I'm really glad to hear you're diggin on my tunes! haha :-D Thanks for your support buddy!
sdantoni, that's a good question actually, I'd be really interested to see what Joe thinks of H&K stuff.....I personally think they rock, one day I will lay my hands on a Tri-Amp, and then you'll aaalllll get to hear about it! haha
OCPS470, cool man, I didn't realise Taylor did cater for the $300 market! I bet they do sound nice, their $3000 offerings are divine!
Suzie, no problemo chica! Yeah I do understand how you're feeling.....I always find myself drawn to the Ibanez section in my local shop, despite there being a good 20 grand's worth of PRS's hanging on the wall a few metres away! hehe.

If you do find a Euphoria, please give us the low-down on what it's like!

edit:

note to All UK motorists, I keep meaning to share this with you. Basically, there's this thing called the "Pipeline card" being set up to get discount on fuel.

The idea is that if "Pipeline" has enough members it can get registered as a UK industry or something and all it's members get a card to carry with them, which will get them a discount on fuel at the garage.

I'm sorry, I can't remember all the proper details, but it's all here to read at http://www.pipelinecard.org

I found out about it a few months ago in EVO magazine and it was in there again this month, and I'm sure they wouldn't publish support for it if it wasn't legit, so it's worth checking out!

ooops ...sorry for the uppercase lettering earlier..i forgot to turn them off !!!! mikesb.......My fathers name is Steve Jones He was with Lonestar from 1978 to 1980. My Dad was doing a gig in cardiff on the 29th of december with Burke Shelley from Budgie and Kenny Driscoll ..Paul Chapman joined them that night for a bit of a jam. My Dad replaced Paul Chapman and Tony Smith in Lonestar and according to Kenny, my Dad was and still is, the best guitarist he has ever played with. "wow" This is a very nice compliment coming from kenny, so i am very proud of my dad as you can imagine. I just wish i could play that well but who knows with all my new "satriani gear "and some great teachers i might make it yet !!!!! Anyway...Hi Joe i have just been looking at these really nice platinum tickets you have available..or should i say HAD available because the venue i wanted have no more platinum packages available do you think you can do something about this???? I need 2, bit of a cheek to ask..i know... but maybe you can do something. Take Care Melanie

962: Yeah...taylor made amodel a few years back called the Big Baby, which had a smaller sized (almost classical shaped) body. It had very little laquer on the wood body and neck, so it just zinged! haha! It also had zero in the way of fancy apointments, so all of the build cost goes to materials. It's a great sounding guitar, and I'm sure it would record really well because it's balanced tonally and undersized. My buddy Peter Taylor that built my guitar is a huge fan of Taylor's inovative acoustic construction design.

FIREMAN: Plese watch out for your wife on this one point: You can become mortally sick from the anti-biotics if'in' your careful or not. I just had surgery back when katrina started and the anti-biotics gave me colostridium. Ask for the anti-dote to it(Flagil) and she'll be okay. It is something to watch for-the doctors know about this- it's concidered an acceptable side-effect from the anti-biotis! AMEN JON WEBMASTER: I'm confused on what happened to my computer the other day while on the JS site. Right in the middle of listening to the podcast;;;the format changed to realplayer. I no longer can listen to the podcasts!!!!!! any suggestions for me?????? I will log on tomorrow to see if'in' you can help. Thanks in advance. High T2Jers!

Webmaster Jon, hope this is okay....the producer of "Take Note" came into the chat tonight...Sherrie...and she said she's been trying to get ahold of you....we talked about emailing u and posting here....she thought it would be great if I posted to share this...

...she would like folks to know about their site...

go here

They did an interview with Joe...the show is a lil over a half an hour...and they have a link at the site to sell the dvd of the interview.

She wants folks who are interested to know that there is a discount code u can use to get $2 off the dvd...it's TNJOE245

She said Joe was really great in the interview and generous with his answers to questions....covers all kinds of stuff including his chromies, his dog....the industry, etc...

I ordered my copy LAST night before the discount...sigh....oh well, I'll still enjoy!! Hope others can too...

And PS, the ordering site is down this evening for maintenance, but should be back up in a few hours!
