The coolest thing about Joe is that his songs all sound like their titles; Starry Night, Driving At Night, War, etc. The song Friends evokes the feeling of friendship--the song itself becomes our friend.
Thank you, Joe! Your music gives people hope!

Hey Joe
Well 2006 a new year and new tunes so far the little taste for all on your website sound great like alway's!! Hey Last year 2005 My daughter Amanda and I, Arnulfo Salinas we both had a opportunity to meet Eric Johnson in Lincoln Nebraska. Amanda work's at the Marriot Fairfield Inn and she called me on the night of July 3rd around 11:30p.m. and she was excited I could tell from her voice on the phone and she said to me, Dad to know a Eric somebody from Austin and I said who Eric Johnson she said yea he is here and I told him you want to meet him.Well we both met the light guy and merchandise guy and we talked for about a hour about music and life in general and Texas.Well still no sign of Eric he was at Walmart shopping go figure I guess we as the norm never would think of seeing someone one like you all at Walmart. We were getting ready to leave the Marriot and I told Amanda that I wanted to meet him so I was upset that he was'nt around and then all of a sudden there he was out side just hanging around and I was so overwhelmed to meet him he was the real deal and so nice to me and Amanda.Amanda got a autographed c.d. from him and I got a autographed poster and a guitar pick and then we took picture's of us all it was so cool to finally meet someone like him and I live for the day that I have the chance to meet you.I seen you 3 time's in Austin first with Steve Vai and John Patrucci and then the next year it was with Steve Vai and Dream Theater then the last time was Halloween night a night with Joe Satriani at the Art's Center in Austin at the University.I drove 4 states to see each time and there is no limit when it comes to go see Master Yoda!! See I play guitar and have for so many year's I learn from all of you,Joe, Steve,Eric and many other's so this is why it was so overwhelming to meet Eric.I had the opportunity to speak with him one on one it was so cool!! Anyway's I have his poster and guitar pick in a case with the photo's of me and Amanda and him so hopefully I will have the oportunity to meet you also your my teacher and I love your music so it is very cool when I get to meet someone like yourself. Now on the site on your clip you say your on tour this year with Eric Wow that is going to be COOL!! We are there and maybe in Austin keep writing excellant music and I will alway's learn your stuff # 1 Fan!!!!

Hey cactus that is cool!!! I met Joe one time in Kalamazoo Michigan when he did his crystal planet tour and he is a really nice guy. It is kinda funny when you meet them and find out they are just normal people like you and I only with an extraordinary gift. Joe, come to Guam please!!! One thing I have noticed about Joe over the years reading his exerpts and interviews and that is his extensive vocabulary. Joe, you are a smart guy and a guy of thought. I can tell that. Anyway, I thought that was cool. Good jamming to all.

Amen!
Joe has always been the best. For as many years as I've been on his website, he's always found time to acknowledge his fans when they need it the most. Joe has a huge heart, and is truely an amazing human being. He's been there for so many of us at our lowest moments. I only hope he knows the amount of light he brings to his fans - in good times and bad. That's the cool part of all things Joe. We're there for him when he needs us, be it an earthquake in S.F., a broken toe, or pneumonia, and he finds a way to be there for us when we need him - no matter where we live on this planet. He's simply the best! Good vibes are always flowin'.

I love good music, this is a great one

Hello Mr Sat,
I take this time to once again thank you for all that your music and guitar playing has done for me. I am a forever changing guitar player, as I am sure you are, and yet I still learn from watching you. Scales, riffs, bars, blues, harmonics, appregios, and the beautiful thing you do with your whammy, are a new door to me everytime I see it happen through you. Thank you for your music.

FireMan and Wanda: Best of luck and wishes for a speedy recovery! :)
Also, big kudos to Jon for all the updates as of late. That must be a LOT of work....I feel like the floodgates have opened!
The April 2006 issue of Guitar Player has an article about the recording sessions for Super Colossal. Not as copious as the article in Guitar World, but still well worth checking out.
And I found this http://www.backbeatbooks.com/images/products/0879308680_lg.jpg while snooping around online.

Suzie, I once asked the professional opinion of the guys at my 'local' shop on the Ibanez Euphoria guitars and they basically said what DCK said before.....there's much better electro-acoustics for the same money. The response, basically, was "they'll sell well to Vai fans but not much else".
I wouldn't say don't try one out - you might as well, but try out some Turners, Crafters, Takamines, Yamahas, Ovations while you're at it.
If you're spending roughly that sum on any of those listed above then this is what you should expect:
Turner, not well-known yet but excellent guitars for the money. Easy to play, well built, they sound very nice indeed, and are styled in a fairly traditional way so they look nice enough too.
Crafter, they look really nice, and they're easy to play. They perhaps don't sound quite as good but still have some decent character and are worth playing just to see.
Takamine and Yamaha are both pretty similar, in that they're easy to play, you get a decent package of electronics for not a lot of money, and they look really nice. They have no soul though, no character. I mean, they sound ok but nothing more than that.
Ovations are pretty nice.....they really are the electric guitar players' acoustic. They're very easy to play, look thoroughly original and nice, and sound good. Their electronics are great too. My problem with them is the round back....I can't get used to it.
There's not many decent Washburn dealers round here so I haven't tried their acoustics, but I understand they make some excellent ones.
And Taylors and Martins are the market leaders, but as far as I know they don't do anything within your price range (or mine for that matter), so by all means play one but don't be disappointed by the 4-grand price tag! hehe
mthead, AMEN, haha! thanks bro!
Webmaster, hmm, thanks for the response on the amazon query. It's weird, cause if they'd just changed the release date I'd understand but they haven't, they've just completely removed it from their catalog! Ah well, time will tell I suppose :-(

My neighbours are so inconsiderate...well, 2 guys on my corridor/dorm thing. And it happens to be the guy living next door to me and directly opposite me.
Playing music, quite loud (loud enough to hear through the walls anyway) from 2am (when I got in) till 9am...when I gave up and decided to get up.
Since theyve been up all night and I know they have a lecture at 11 I'm going to be greeting them with some Prodigy on very loud when they get back. If they want me to turn it down they can simply fuck off.

Satriella - If Joe is playing in the Uk then I would think i would definitley attend! It would be good to meet up with people from here! Has anything been confirmed about a tour including the UK?
962 - sounds like a good setup! I'm currently just using a V amp to record with. It does the job! Recenyl moved into a new flat and really have to watch the noise which is nasty! Bought a little 15w Laney but still can't put it to even 1! I miss that valve tone! I really need to try and sort out some kind of sound proofing so i can get it to a usable level!
Did anyone go to see Vai in London last year? I did the stupid thing of ordering 2 of the most expensive tickets and not going. I mailed them at Vai.com to see if they could upgrade someone elses tickets but I don't think they did! Nasty!
Edit - all in bold - ooops
