FireMan and Wanda: Best of luck and wishes for a speedy recovery! :)
Also, big kudos to Jon for all the updates as of late. That must be a LOT of work....I feel like the floodgates have opened!
The April 2006 issue of Guitar Player has an article about the recording sessions for Super Colossal. Not as copious as the article in Guitar World, but still well worth checking out.
And I found this http://www.backbeatbooks.com/images/products/0879308680_lg.jpg while snooping around online.

Suzie, I once asked the professional opinion of the guys at my 'local' shop on the Ibanez Euphoria guitars and they basically said what DCK said before.....there's much better electro-acoustics for the same money. The response, basically, was "they'll sell well to Vai fans but not much else".
I wouldn't say don't try one out - you might as well, but try out some Turners, Crafters, Takamines, Yamahas, Ovations while you're at it.
If you're spending roughly that sum on any of those listed above then this is what you should expect:
Turner, not well-known yet but excellent guitars for the money. Easy to play, well built, they sound very nice indeed, and are styled in a fairly traditional way so they look nice enough too.
Crafter, they look really nice, and they're easy to play. They perhaps don't sound quite as good but still have some decent character and are worth playing just to see.
Takamine and Yamaha are both pretty similar, in that they're easy to play, you get a decent package of electronics for not a lot of money, and they look really nice. They have no soul though, no character. I mean, they sound ok but nothing more than that.
Ovations are pretty nice.....they really are the electric guitar players' acoustic. They're very easy to play, look thoroughly original and nice, and sound good. Their electronics are great too. My problem with them is the round back....I can't get used to it.
There's not many decent Washburn dealers round here so I haven't tried their acoustics, but I understand they make some excellent ones.
And Taylors and Martins are the market leaders, but as far as I know they don't do anything within your price range (or mine for that matter), so by all means play one but don't be disappointed by the 4-grand price tag! hehe
mthead, AMEN, haha! thanks bro!
Webmaster, hmm, thanks for the response on the amazon query. It's weird, cause if they'd just changed the release date I'd understand but they haven't, they've just completely removed it from their catalog! Ah well, time will tell I suppose :-(

My neighbours are so inconsiderate...well, 2 guys on my corridor/dorm thing. And it happens to be the guy living next door to me and directly opposite me.
Playing music, quite loud (loud enough to hear through the walls anyway) from 2am (when I got in) till 9am...when I gave up and decided to get up.
Since theyve been up all night and I know they have a lecture at 11 I'm going to be greeting them with some Prodigy on very loud when they get back. If they want me to turn it down they can simply fuck off.

Satriella - If Joe is playing in the Uk then I would think i would definitley attend! It would be good to meet up with people from here! Has anything been confirmed about a tour including the UK?
962 - sounds like a good setup! I'm currently just using a V amp to record with. It does the job! Recenyl moved into a new flat and really have to watch the noise which is nasty! Bought a little 15w Laney but still can't put it to even 1! I miss that valve tone! I really need to try and sort out some kind of sound proofing so i can get it to a usable level!
Did anyone go to see Vai in London last year? I did the stupid thing of ordering 2 of the most expensive tickets and not going. I mailed them at Vai.com to see if they could upgrade someone elses tickets but I don't think they did! Nasty!
Edit - all in bold - ooops

Blackmore has been doing his lute'n'damsel thing for almost ten friggin years now!!
Check it out HERE
One good thing that came out of the demise of the last Ritchie Mark of Purple tho was our man Joe filling in on guitar. Bootleg audio and video of those shows is available out there.
A birdy told me that Blackmore will be playing more electric guitar on the next project BUT the damsel stays!!! Amen!!!
Not to the Blackmore saga but to meat LMAO

Hi Joe,
I really look forward to seeing your new record. It looks cool, I will be very happy if it will be cool :-)
I dont know if you will read this message (I think you will not :-)) but I want to try to ask you for something.
I play for last 1 year about 4-9 hours per day, and my fingers and hands hurts. I just want to know how you keep your hands healthy. Some massages or something...
I´m really sorry for my english but I´m only 16years old and I´am from Europe and my english is really poor, so sorry.
So, Good bye Joe and i hope I will see you in Europe on tour. You are great and with Steve Vai, AL di Meloa and Pat Metheny you are my favourite musician :-)
Bye and peace with guitar and music :-)

DelfinoPie-
Once you've determined the culprits have returned home,
go borrow a large garbage/ash can from another neighbour, preferably with their name or address on it. Next fill the can with water (and/or any other convenient liquid you may have on hand). If you feel the need to 'discharge anything bodily', now is the time. Carefully roll the can and lean it up onto the noisey neighbour's front door making sure that it will fall into their flat or room when the door is opened. Wait til they get just to sleep and suddenly crank about 200W of some Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengeance, jacked thru your guitar amp placed up near the common wall or ceiling. If they should come dripping to your door, simply say that you have no idea what they are talking about and that you were just enjoying your favourite song and that they should be hearing quite a lot of it in the future. Then offer them a towel which you have specially prepared for them beforehand
(see discharge segment above).
Death Cube K
You're killing me with this anagram thing! I got all excited when I got 'BAKE THE DUCK' and 'CAKE DUET TBH' but I think I finally figgered it out. Is it BUCKETHEAD? ...too cool. lmao.
Mikesb-
Thanks for sharing the Blackmore info and link! The Discography Dungeon has excrutiating detail, excellent stuff. I have a trivia question: Who was RB's stand-in on the Deep Purple album 'Come Taste The Band'? This same late great guitar artist also took over for Joe Walsh on James Gang albums 'Bang' and 'Miami' (actually 2 really good albums) before launching his own all-to-brief solo career.
Many thanks to all T2Jers for welcoming me into the fold!

Joe,
Stoked as always about the new album and I am counting the days until I can get my hands on it.
On a much sadder note, I've checked the tour dates for the new tour and St. Louis is not on it. Now I understand that dates are added on as the tour commences, but why is it that St. Louis never seems to be on anybody's list initially? Last time you were here with Dream Theater the place was packed. This goes for just about every artist it seems, but your show is one of the few I care to see. Chicago and Kansas City are always on the list.
Just feeling a bit jilted in St. Louis.
Bruce
