Satriella - I'm with you on the competition thing! I got very over excited at getting a chance to win some new toys and then saw it was only open to US Citizens! Boo!

962 - Hey, Simon! I'm actually happier with the tone that I'm getting from the amp at the moment but I'm trying to cover all my bases by having a pedal that recreates a nice meaty rock tone without fuzzing up too much and that can be pushed into RAAAWKKK mode if need be.

We've played quite a few benefit gigs over the years where there are 2 or 3 bands sharing kit on the same bill so I was trying to ensure that no matter what amp I plug into my pedals can always recreate the sound I'm after when I plug into the clean channel.

Why no surprise on the DS-1? Are they prone to faults? Nuno uses a Proco Rat, maybe I should look at one of those, mmmmm!!!

EVERYBODY!!! Here we go! Check this out!

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=449639

-Copy and paste the link. This is a recording I did a few days ago, I did all the guitar parts, check this out. This kid wanted to cover Iron Maiden's 'The Trooper' and asked me to do the guitar parts...check out how it came out! Let me know what you all think. Some parts of the solos aren't as clean as I hoped they would have been, but still is great. Vote for it to if you like it! I'd appreciate some feedback on it to. My guitar tone in the song isn't my usual tone, I couldn't lug my setup over to record, so just went through a Digitech Metal Master (mixer output to add warmth). Still, sounds pretty good.

-You don't have to check out the other stuff on the page, I'm not in any of the other songs...they are not anywhere near my style either. I had no problem covering The Trooper, not really a huge fan of Maiden, but that's an awesome song.

Leaked Guns N' Roses Tracks Give Fans Hope

NEW YORK - Guns N' Roses fans went into frenzied overdrive when three studio-quality tracks from the mythical "Chinese Democracy" album were leaked onto the Internet.

The leaks came just weeks after frontman Axl Rose ended his hermit-like lifestyle by venturing out to a Korn tour launch party in Los Angeles and to trendy nightclubs for some post-birthday bashes (his 44th) in Manhattan.

Asked at the Korn bash about "Chinese Democracy," which has been in the making for a decade, Rose told Rolling Stone.com that "people will hear music this year."

The tracks leaked Wednesday take a different direction from Rose's traditional raunchy Sunset Strip-style rock. "Better" has emo/industrial touches mixed with Rose's trademark vocals and hard rock backdrop. "There Was A Time" is a rough studio mix of a power ballad with similarities to GNR's classic "Estranged." "IRS" is closer to the sound of yesteryear, with powerful guitar solos and classic rock flavor.

Rose's manager, Merck Mercuriadis, ordered the Internet sites to remove the links, but declined to comment on them. Fans also sent one of the leaked tracks to radio stations. Mercuriadis said cease-and-desist orders were sent to the stations, but some, such as WAAF in Boston, still had "IRS" in heavy rotation Monday night.

News also surfaced Monday that several music festivals, such as the Rock in Rio-Lisboa and the NovaRock festival in Austria, had booked the band to play in May and June, respectively.

Lisa Reed, wife of keyboard player Dizzy Reed, said on her husband's web site that "all signs point to (the album) getting closer and closer," and she pleaded with fans not to leak the rest of the album.

"It's like shaking all your Christmas presents on the 23rd of December," she wrote, "and figuring out what they are."

cuthbert1776: ROTFLMAO bro, I never seen Joe move like that before, lol!!....

Guitarmiester: Damn yes, bro, the SSO dvd is worth it, lol!!.... Scarified is the only Racer X song but he plays some of his solo stuff too, and like I said, you'll love the 1 on 1 intro to each song, cause he shreds his a** off lol!!.... I would suggest not getting Eleven Thousand Notes as it is mostly live footage with pretty poor recording quality, and costs a lot for some reason.... On BRO, lol, its just amazing how clean he is, and from what I've read, he usually does that stuff in one take, lol, it's all about practice, practice, practice!.... Have fun learning \//\I and Joe also, and then the trick is to get your voice on the guitar, lol, keep it up man!....

....And on the gits.... Congrats man, the Ovations are awesome, and make sure its US made.... On the PGM, if you have the $$, get the PGM300 which has the Edge Pro bridge!.... Cant beat it man, and hey, nice work on The Tropper.... Good work on the timing/solos!!....

Keniko: Wow man, what an experience for you son, that is so awesome!!.... I'm sure he's got a wonderful career ahead of him; and I was amazed, not only by his people/figure drawings, but how some of his artwork looks like photos!!.... Give him our regards, and oh, ROCK the show!!....

Nice to meet you Doug Doppler!!.... Joe has talked about you before, lol!!....

962: Nice new tune bro, nice melodies.... I like the effects you used too, keep it up man....

alexandrecaetano: Great news on the new Blister cd for Gonçalo, I'm sure it will be great!! :-) The weather here is very strange these days, lol, nice and warm with not much rain..crazy weather, lol, but its all good.... Take care my friend, and talk to you later! :-)

Webmaster Jon: On the news.... One word: WOW!!!! :-0 :-)

....Later peeps....

Hey Joe, just wanted to say thanks for opening in Denver! I'am taking a friend that has never heard you in concert nor watched nascar. He has however met Rob Zombie and worked for a local radio station KBPI 106.7 but I dont hold that against him because he is a brother to the end.! I heard you at ST. ANDREWS HALL in Detroit on my birthday, like 6 years ago (I am guessing) I drove there alone , gave my extra ticket away, no charge, caught a T shirt from the WRIF 101.1, and the first pick you threw to the crowd bounced off my chest and I caught it! THAT WAS ONE HELL OF A B-DAY. You also had STU with you. I wish he was still touring along but a man has to do what a man has to do. My B-day is april 22 (earth day) and when I told my Bro Troy you are opening on APRIL FOOLS DAY he thought that I was kidding that you were coming to town. I have had him checking your site for months because I didnt have a computer at home. Now that I do, the first time I logged on and registered to your site again ( I couldn't remember my last password) you were going on tour again. If you read this this thank you, if not oh well my typing needed practice anyway, thats what the calusses are for. Hope to hear from you in Denver and Eric Johnson. Alright 1 last request could you ask Mr. Johnson to play MANHATTAN. Sincerely BIGLOTS

Michelle: That sounds like an experience of a lifetime. Definitely a "Night of a Lifetime" for both of you. That is" one of the moments you live your life for, moments the take your breath away"........ It brought tears to my eyes. I'm so happy for you and Erin. It was truly a special night. I'll never be able to share moments like that with a child since I have none. However I'm going to take my nephews to see 14 yo Eric Steckel the Blues Guitarist at Havana in New Hope. Brian & Scott get excited when I show them Photos & Drum Sticks (from Patrick YJM's Drummer for my BDAY). Brian seems very interested, he's 11 now. Oldest of the nephews & nieces. He was given a kids acoustic guitar for Xmas but don't think he's played. He plays Clarinet for school. Have a wonderful time at Disney!! Are you going when the kids have Spring Break? I may be there the same time as you....I'm flying down 4/8 and returning 4/10. A quickie! I should be catching 4 JOe & EJ show. I'm soo damn excited!! PA, NYC, Boston and Boca. I got my tax refund on Friday.....already spent it!! LOL

Keniko: I am truly lucky to have met some of the most incredible human beings & musicians in the world here on JOe's site. "I believe in the Power Of Music".........Eric Sardinas. It has truly been life changing for me. Thank you so much for sharing that VAI interview.... After hearing that I'm going to ask him for some direction with my photography, am I going about it the right way? I feel he will be very honest with me. He trusted me enough to let me photograph the entire show in New Castle, I trust Steve...........OMG he's got HUGE hands! I never noticed that before, wow!

Bahduh: Hey! Hope all's well. ;-))

Satriella: WOW! Excellent drawings!! I'll have to share with you a few of mine, well just Jimi is done.....Janis I started in HS. Jimi was done in HS as well, I got an award for him I gave the drawing to Brad Whitford from Aerosmith. I'd been following the band since I was 15 and we'd become friends. Long story about why I gave him my Jimi drawing....wish I never did!!

OMG!! Most IMPORTANT NEWS!! One of my patients is in the Music Industry, her Husband is a Jazz musician very well known & she was his manager. Well she mentioned she lived in Austin Texas.........I asked "Do you know who SRV is? Did you ever meet him"?!! She said. meet him? I knew him....I knew him & his brother quite well. He watched my son for the weekend & when I came home he had milk in a beer bottle with a nipple on it". She wasn't too pleased with Stevie about that........I'll tell you more about this another night. I didn't sleep last night and I'm exhausted.

Alexandre: I will keep the faith.....I saw the Blister video! Very cool stuff Alex!! ;-)) I need to watch it a few more times to see all the little detail. I love details!! You ROCK!! Kisses to you dear Alex!! ~~Sea Eyes!!

Clarky: Now what are you doing with a machete?!! I'm going to run the other way unless we are stranded on an Island in the jungle........LMAO dude. You are just being a silly Clarky! ;-)) Top Girlies don't like knives or Jerry Cans silly. :-P

Later Peeps! Peace

I hope I wasn't too much of a pain in the Ass about that.......It was soooo worth the wait Roy. Thanks for your friendship and support. "I got your back".......that's what friends do. ;-))

ovation1 I'll definitly buy the SSO DVD soon. Thanks for all the help. I was looking at reviews on Eleven Thousand Notes, it's suposed to be good, other than the quality of the DVD (which is putting me off, along with how much it costs!?! Almost $50!?!) I keep listening to BRO over and over to make sure I have every part right, I'm very close, and still working on how cleanly I play it. I'll check ebay for some PG guitars, see if I find anythingfor a good deal. Thanks for the reply on the song...one or two sloppy parts in the solo that i didn't feel like covering up. I couldn't stand the singing...I don't know about anyone else, but he sucks.

suzie sioux i think for one of these contests the goods can't be posted to the uk - the winner gets flown to the gig ;-) regarding the other offer, yeah - it sucks, not wanting to get political or anything but many contests like this are us-only, and that's just ridiculous, probably as ridiculous as a famous guitar player having a webcast *to his fans* that's only available in a (currently) little-used format... so many people here can't see the "podcasts" it's such a shame.. whatever happened to giving the people 1) what they want and 2) what they can effin see?!?! lol ok i'm ranting it's been a long day and most if this bit wasn't even aimed at you! sorry! i'll go find my happy head lol....

MARIMARISRV: Yes Steven got your cd. I have not been over for about a month. I will ask him how it's going and the cd on the first of march. GOTTAHAVEJOE:TEACHMEGUITAR: You can both buy cd's of great teachers. They give you access to web sites like gary scotts teaching page: look back in the t2j archives for the addy, and Rockhousemethod.com, where John McCarthy teaches. Please look up Tony Burnett, a teacher out of LA that has dvd teaching. Study not only left hand techniques, but righthand, two hand, but, look at how they sit/stand and hold the instrument. Hand placement is everything on the guitar. Check into plectrum techniques (pick) and settle on a string guage for you to play. Good luck on all of your guitar learning...and this is the place to sak questions. T2Jers will find you options. Joe has some tab out there for you to learn! KTF Randell Abovethenumbers.com
