Hey everyone whats going on.

Joe, I am curious as to know, will you be doing autograph sessions on your tour? I am just wondering because I would love it if you signed a copy of Super Colossal when it comes out. I look forward to seeing your show in Toronto on the 12th of April at Massey Hall. Tickets go on sale for that show in 30 mins, better get on it if I want front row tickets.

hOWYA DOING GEEZ

I was at my first Job when I left school (printer) and we initiated a lot of new staff with soft pranks common practice in most compainies. One of the best ones I played wss a corker !!

There was a really gorgeous woman that worked at the sandwich bar we used to get our meals from. This guy who started was as green as they come. Remember junior in the smokey and the bandit movie? (thers no way that boy came from my loins !! ) He was just like him.

its custom that the new guy to fetch the sandwiches. The shop also used to do cakes. One day he asks me what I want from the shop. I told him I wanted a dripping minge !! (minge is slang for a ladies intimate place if you wonderd). I described it to him like you know the ones its not on eclair but its a donut type cake shaped like a hot dog with jam an cream with sugar sprinkled on it !! I gave a convincing performance.

He arrived back with a red mark on the side of his face and said they didnt have it but for the life of me I cant understand why she slapped me !!!!!!!!

YES!!!! JUST SAW THE NEW TOUR DATES!!!! SATCH WILL BE IN NJ!!!! YES!!!! THANK YOU JOE!!!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY YOU JUST MADE ME!!!

marimarisrv Satch will be playing the Starland Ballroom!!!

mthead101 I'll let everyone know when I have stuff posted up.

Do The Stu Yea, I've got seats in the orchestra area.

Ovation1 I've told him over and over that his singing just isn't my 'style'...I guess everytime I've told him he didn't hear me? He keeps bugging me to record some other covers with him! Covers can be fun, but c'mon...covers get boring, you really need originals to show what you got. Also, when I told him that the reverb and doubling effects on the vocals sounds bad, he just said 'I use it to cover up my bad spots...' Uh, I don't think that reverb or doubling is covering anything up, just making it worse if anything!

Satriella Thanks...once I can record my own stuff I'll let everybody know. You'll notice quite a difference in style, playing, tone, and sound quality.

I'm rather liking that the Baltimore show date also falls on one of my days off. ;-). A long 15 year drought, and now 2 shows with a couple of weeks of each other!

WIsh I could go to the show in Upper Darby, but I doubt I'd be able to.

Reshift Riders is still swimming around in me little ol' brain......can't wait to hear it live.

HrhFish: No offense man, but your info is all upside down and backwards. I'm all for not over complicating things, but it's important to know exactly what you're doing so that you don't have to fish around trying to find what you want. Sure, if you goof around long enough you'll hit upon something that sounds good over a chord progression, but if you really KNOW what you're doing, you can skip all of that wasted time and know your options immediately. It's also important to know what you're doing to be able to communicate with another musician. Telling some one I'm playing a C major scale, and telling some one I'm playing Flydian mode are 2 diff things.....sure they're both contain the notes of a C scale, but saying Flydian tells someone I'm playing a C scale, but F is the tonal center that I'm targeting. I think it's very important to know what you're doing at all times.

Rodney was great how about theese:

"I drink too much. The last time I gave a urine sample it had an olive in it."

"I have good looking kids. Thank goodness my wife cheats on me."

"I remember the time I was kidnapped and they sent a piece of my finger to my father. He said he wanted more proof.

Ovation1 Just found out that they will be soon selling the Racer X DVD's on their site. I'm pretty sure Snowball of Doom will be on there, but it will be $39+shipping! I was hoping they'd also sell some of Paul Gilbert's DVD's, I'm pretty sure they aren't going to though. If I don't find Spaceship One DVD tomorrow, I'll order it from the site you posted up.

Satriella Wow...nice pictures. I can't draw that great, I'm more in Satch's area, wierd doodles and stuff like that.

No offence taken dude. Yeah it is important to be able to tell other players what you are playing but my remark was aimed at teaching. A mode is buit on the diatonic scale. Its how the semi tone and tone intervals are rearanged that produces the modal variations as you well know. Its also important to learn the time signature that tell you what key or what mode. I do agree with what youve said.

I learned the theory as I was classicaly trained. Im a little rusty now as I play by ear and feel. Once I have found something I like I then analise it to see what I am doing. That excersise I mentioned gives you the modal variations with only phsyically learning 7 inversions. When I teach people modes if they dont quite get the theory I let them get the practical first. Once they here how a mode changes the tonality of the piece then I tell them its because you flatten this note or sharpen that note.

The pattern of finger cycles on the fretboard are the same as the 7 Ionian Major inversions just rearranged differently. The Minor scale is a Modal variation (Aeolian mode). You must know the minor relative rule. If you play C/F/G proggression with a C minor pentatonic on the eigth fret its C minor. Play the same proggression but drop the scale to the 5th fret you are playing C major (musically) but physically you are playing an A minor scale. The same rule applies to the seven note scales.

Thin Lizzy used to do this a lot....

I know my stuff bud. I spent years re writting scales for my students it was something I noticed and it helped me teach . Couple of my guyshave gone on to do their bachelor of arts in music and one of em is a session player. Read between the lines of what I am saying a little more. No offence bud but again I know what I mean.

WWWWOOOOOAAARRGH !!!

LOVE GOOD HEALTHY DEBATES

michelle: How lucky for you that Satch is coming to the Tower!! TomJr and I already bought tickets for Greensburg and I don't think I could get off work to see Satch in Philly. Hope you get good seats!

Anyone: Looking for some advice. I am going to see Dream Theater April 1st at Radio City Music Hall. Problem is I have never been to the big apple :( Any pointers for me?? Where to park for the show, any route better than another, etc.

Thanks in advance,

Tom

Rob310...lol....ah....GW...thanks for the clarification....

tmx...welcome!

TomSr. ...my best advice is to get there early, drive in a circle round Radio City till you find a parking garage within decent walking distance....or, how about Amtrak, or training it...then take a subway from Penn Station to Radio City...but then your at the mercy of a train schedule & subways....once you get out late at night...might not be the best option...

Stevee T: Thanks for your suggestions. You figure that they have to have some parking garages around a venue like that.
