Tulsa chops - Gonna have to disagree with you on the S470. I have the S470DXQM, an RG 560 and a Strat. Of the three the 470 is the lightest, even with the mahogany body. There just isn't the mass. The Strat is Alder, and the RG, of course, is bass wood. As far as playing I did throwout the stock pickups for a Tone Zone and an Air Norton. That guitar sings now. I also set it up down a half step and play 10-46 strings for a little more tone. I run these into an old ADA MP1 - Yamaha FX 500- Mesa Dual rectifier - 4X12 Mesa cab. Just more background the RG has a Fred (bridge)and a Protrac (Neck), the Strat havs some kinda Duncan in the bridge and the stock soap box in the neck.

Hey, Joe!

Wasap. I'm from Zim, and am a total fan of your music. Needless to say, your influence has really spread throughout the world, huh. Unfortunately, it,s impossible to find your music here in Zimbabwe since they only bring in the mainstream stuff, but I have got Surfing With The Alien. It.s great. I just wanted to ask, how do you go about composing your work, is it simply from an inspired riff, or do you spend like hours messing around on the guitar until you get something and keep slogging from there?

Thanx for your time

Tendai

tulsachops, no they're ibz/dimarzio pickups in the SA2120, so they're still Ibanez factory crap, but they're about as good as Ibanez factory crap gets! haha.

I'll be putting a PAF Joe in the neck and a Norton in the bridge and then it'll kick my ass. Yeah it's a mahogany body with a quilted maple top, and the neck is maple and bubinga (i think) with a (very dark) bound rosewood fretboard.

I'll upload photos some time soon when I have the time (these things take a while on dial-up!)

yay, my t2j2 CD's have shipped!
Suzie, errrr....profound!? Now you've got me, I really have no idea!

Joe...very different tune for you....really like it! Love the synth/keys...and the feel to the song "Meaning of Love"

always420here...welcome...

death cube k...thank you...1st lesson with Rob Balducci was very cool...he's a great guy & player...we jammed over a simple chord structure to start...he'd play rhythm, I'd play lead...vice versa...talked about different cool guitar stuff & people (Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, etc....)...next week we'll concentrate on more specifics... Doug Doppler was very nice enough to send me some lesson related info...that is proving to yield breakthrough results...very excited here... (thanks so much Doug)

Hey Joe, how the hell do you do that squeal on your guitar with the whammy bar? I've tried to follow it when you do it in G3 live in denver. Especially in Satch Boogie. IT sounds really cool but i cant figure out how to do it. It would be awesome if you could explain.

Thanks Joe

A man appeared before St. Peter at the pearly gates.

Have you ever done anything of particular merit?" St. Peter asked.

Well, I can think of one thing," the man offered. "Once, on a trip to the Black Hills out in South Dakota, I came upon a gang of high-testosterone bikers, who were threatening a young woman. I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen.

So, I approached the largest and most heavily-tattooed biker and smacked him on the head, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring and threw it on the ground." I yelled, "Now, back off biker boy or you'll answer to me!"

St. Peter was impressed. "When did this happen?"

Just a couple minutes ago."

He's a friend of Joe's and if any of you have the last issue with Joe, he did the interview. He gives great lesson's also. Just though id add this if you wanted to check him out. Im afraid to say his name because his site is being heavily spammed right now. If any are interested if you don't know who i mean , PM me.

Wish everyone the best . Have a good weekend.

Mikey - the 2 rehearsal thing is David's way of saying "you guys are good enough.. sort yourselves out"

jeez... I wish I had his confidence.. lmao

Slansh - interesting point about the mono thing... in the 2120 there is a setting in that can be selected either globally or per patch for mono / stereo...

this must have something to do with the way the stereo effects work and clean up the muddiness you're describing...

shame you can't try a GT PRO... they're very nice

Addam - roflmfao.......
SteveeT - very cool track... I can piss away hours goofing around with effects like that.. lol..
I've just gone and got a power conditioner....

jeez... the improvement to my tone has been miraculous...

I bought it simply to cure an earth loop problem I have...
but the spin-offs have been simply amazing..
