I have noticed on the tour schedule with Eric Johnson the closest you come to Louisville, Kentucky is Chicago, IL. I hope to see you come to Louisville sometime. I want to take my husband ( a big fan of both ) to see you guys. There are some great places to hold the concert here in Louisville and a great fan base of jazz and blues. I think you would have huge success here! Thanks for considering....

tulsachops...Yes..I think Fenders do have one of the best clean channels on the market. Roland is'nt very far behind either. They make a 2 X 12 combo thats hard to beat. And honestly I've never played a Marshall that I liked...sounds like it's stuffed with cottonballs or something. Peace, SD

Yeah!! The '65 Twin Rev is a classic... I wish mine was a vintage tubie, my bro had an original Deluxe Reverb that was pretty sweet too. Rock on.

ovation1, "Can you say Mahog = SUSTAIN!! "......hell yeah bro, especially when the the neck is set and bonded into the guitar's body.....this thing resonates like, I dunno, a gong or something! haha. Ok maybe not that much, but you get the idea!
I'm loving my setup now.....my SA1260 is mahogany with a humbucker in the bridge and 2 hum-cancelling 'singles' in middle and neck positions, while the SA2120 is mahogany with a pair of full-size humbuckers, wired to a 5-way switch. What a great pair, and they both have the same body shape and same bridge too. The continuity from one guitar to another is superb.
OCPS470, yeah I've played a dual rec a few times now. Interesting observations there, very much how I felt about it. It does indeed, work very nicely when it's cranked, but as a general theme, it responds best to lots of picking. It's not so well suited to primarily legato players because the right hand attack often isn't enough to drive it properly.
I've found it pretty nice for rhythm playing because of the way it reacts when you really attack the strings, but overall I find it all sounds a little compressed and yeah, lots of gain but sustain doesn't really happen until you make it LOUD.
Having said that, I tried the SA2120 through both a Dual Rec and a Marshall DSL100 (JCM2000) in the shop and it sounded fab through both.....hmmm, gotta love all that mahogany! :-p
tulsachops, thanks but I'm all sorted on the guitar front. Thick and heavy isn't how I'd describe the S470, but still, it wasn't a patch on the SA2120 that I've replaced it with. This SA is far nicer than my old Jem and definitely matches all the JS's I've played recently.
Blue Moon, Milla Jovovich in the all-together....you can't go wrong! I saw RE too, would like to see the sequal.

CLARKY; You are lucky dude. When I was the lead triangle player in PFM we had to tour and then had a 20 minute shakedown of the set three weeks after the tour finished!! And you try telling that to the kids today and they won't believe you. Jeez, you don't know how lucky you are! Song of the day: FEED THE ENEMY by Magazine.......

international release dates -- just got some updated news that says the album comes out in the UK on 3/24 and some other countries on 3/21. the main discography page is updated with this info and i'll let you know other news as it develops on that front.
other exciting news... we've got a video for super colossal coming at you this weekend! it features joe stomping through a digital city, 20 stories tall :}
also heard that there's probably around 15 more dates that will be coming in the US tour, just to give you an idea of what's still to be confirmed and announced.

Maybe my problem with the S470 I tried was (at least partly) due to the PSND pickups. And compared to some of the alder or basswood body models, the S was literally heavy. I believe the SA2120 comes outfitted with DiMarzios, no? Did you get a maple quilty? Absolutely beautiful guitar! If you like it better than a JEM it must be hot.

FabLawyer of SBM: Ahh, Arpeggios...from hell. I love that main riff.
And I was just talking about what a video for the song would look like with a friend of mine earlier in the day, and that was exactly it. But of course coming from the podcast that's not that fantastic of a prediction. Still, really can't wait to see it.
On another note, I've also just watched that Big Bad Moon video. Ahahahaha. I couldn't help but post it.
