Satriella - I'm just a crazed fan, I guess (at least I see I'm not alone though, Gotta Have Joe! :-)). I was inspired by reading the book on every Beatles song, "A Hard Day's Write". After reading that book, I enjoyed listening to the Beatles songs even more than I already did. I wanted to be able to do the same type of thing for Joe.
Joe's got such awesome song names, and it's just so cool to find out what Joe ws thinking when he came up with some of them (like Luminous Flesh Giants - (quoted from Joe from a chat transcript) "That's in a similar vein to Flying In A Blue Dream or Surfing With The Alien. It's a combination of Dreams and half-hearted humorous day dreams about aliens, giants and monsters. I use that as a mental theme to get my musical point across.")
BTW, does anyone know Dutch? I did a Babelfish translation of this page, and still couldn't make heads or tails of it. I think one of the things they are saying is that Belly Dancer took 10 years to write?
Just found this resource: Google Book search: "satriani"
Joe Satriani is mentioned in a SQL Server book! Cool. I've yet to comb through most of it, though.
About posting the whole thing here - that would take up a LOT of room! How about every post I make from here on out (until I run out of info!), I'll try to include a tidbit I found? That might be cool - then, if you know more about a song, post it and where you heard it, and if I can verify it, I'll credit you on my Web site (Joe, Jon, and a few select others don't need to tell me where they heard it. I'll just take your word :-)).

Beautiful story cuth. Geez, I'm gonna run outta tissues. *sniff* My Grammy got to meet my daughter. She was 3 months old when Grammy died. She held her on her lap, but she wasn't strong enough to hold her in her arms. I'm so blessed that I got to share my first pregnancy with her, and she was around to meet my daughter. She even helped me pick her name. I had two names for a girl. One was Melissa. Grammy didn't like that one because it reminded her of Joan River's daughter. lmao! She liked the name Erin because it was a nice Irish name. I gave her the middle name Caitlin, which means Catherine - the name of my Grammy, and my husband's Grandmom. I love my daughter's name because it means so much to me. She also didn't want me to use the name Zachery Taylor if it was a boy. She didn't like that President, even though the name had nothing to do with him. lol! That old bird was a real pip! I still used the name Taylor for my son's middle name, just to give Grammy a poke on the other side. lol!

Hey Joe, (Where you goin with that guitar in your hand?)
Ive just recently introduced my 15 year old son to your music.
He's been playing guitar for a couple of years now, but his level is like he's been playing for about 4 or 5 years. Got a natural on my hands here. He was completely blown away after I showed him the G3 DVD with you, Steve and Yngwie (Who?) Anyhow, he insisted on needing an Ibanez guitar after that. I happened on a JS 100 at a pawn shop and bought it for him right then and there. Needless to say, the kid was elated, and now the guitar has become part of his DNA.
We wanted to know what your input was as far as the spec's of this guitar, and if there are any upgrades you can reccomend if there are any needed at all. It sounds amazing already, and the condition of the guitar is excellent. Keep rockin man, and we will see you in Kansas City next month !!

Hi Joe!
I'm kind of new in this, but it shure would be great to hear from you sometimes (is there really a chance to hear from you personally?).
It wuold be my dream come true to experience your live gig sometimes. I'm a huge fan of yours, not much of a player (but I do try).
Planning a trip to Europe this year?
I come from Croatia, a small country in Europe (near Austria, Germany, Italy), I've been dreaming for ages to see you and hear you play live, but never acctually had a chance to do so.
If you decide to send me an email, don't hesitate, I would gladly answer to any of your questions.
Kind Regards. mdrenov

mthead101 - Thank you again for your kind words, you really have had more than most to complain about or be sad about but you remain upbeat...thank you for being you....SLAM-A-TOCIOUS Hug fella...Oh and yeah give portraits a go...you never know I may do you next....so beware!
cuthbert1776 - Aww what can I say...very touching...I take it that it was quite recent as it still makes you cry...sorry hunny!
gruskada - Yay what a great idea, I'm sure you (and me - hehe) will get lots of information from everyone on here...they are a very helpful and knowledgable bunch...though much of the information may have lost its source by now...if you know what I mean...you read something or hear Joe tell something at a meet and greet...but knowing where you heard it years later can be difficult!
But it would be great to get a T2J book together...like the two CD's that have been done....hmmm go for it mate!
ummm babelfish as in Hitch-hikers guide to the galaxy?
962 - Answer to guitar world Q is ?????? brrrrr chilly
Take care all

Joe,
Ever thought of doing a proper biography....go on tell me there is already a book out there! But it would be great...you definately have a lifetimes worth of stuff to go in there...just covering the story behind all the songs you've done would probably cover 2 books without the people you've taught and the gigs you've played and your philosophies on music and anything else! It would be a best-seller that's for sure...cos there are so many people in the world that
LOVE YOU AND YOUR MUSIC!
Hugs Satriella xx

Zinc Master.. Anytime my friend..anytime!!! Yes i've most definately had my share of lifes wondermentand i'm still awed by the irony we call life.. true my loss was profound but, even though mom and dad are gone i feel truly blessed and so very proud to have had such beautiful people i can call mom and dad ( angels on my shoulders). The irony we call life the epitomy being that were all born to die.. so remember its what we do in our life thats truly important..so at the chance of sounding redundant.. be strong for yourself and those around you thats what it means to be a man.. thats whats important and of that we can be proud... hold your head up high my friend.!! MT
Cuthbert 1776... Good God you story sounds so much like what i went thru with my mom... at the time i was pissed off at God for taking away the most beautiful person to ever grace the planet with her foot steps. I was 22 and upon reflection just selfish wanting to keep her with me when it was time ( Gods will ) for her to go with him where she could not be hurt anymore by anyone and stay with God in his house where she deserved to be. Through his grace she was able to move her right hand.. when i held it she looked at me as if to say ' its alright.. dont worry... good bye..i love you ' though it killed me at the time i latter relised only through Gods grace was she able to hold on long enough to say good bye and for that i will always be grateful !! Satriella - "though much of the information may have lost its source by now" - yeah, I'm running into that a lot. There's a lot of good info, though, and I don't see a reason why people would lie, so I think I'll take the info and make a note next to it, something like, "told to T2J member 'Satriella' at a meet and greet" or something like that.
Ok, now I'm forced to post more song info! From an old bio here at Satriani.com (http://www.satriani.com/2000/about/bio/): "Champagne?" is a solo treatment of suspended chords as popularized by Keith Richards.
I love that piece - almost killed my speakers by turning it up too much!
I've got some more info on it - just can't find it now. Ugh. That was a weak one, so here's another weak one to go along with it - Hill Groove was conceived from Jamming along with a Lauren Hill song (from my memory of the SBM listening party) (only weak because I think most people know this already). Anyway, anyone know which Lauren Hill song it was?

Satriella - You can open two windows in your browser. One on the post page and one on the board and toggle between the two. Also, if you are going to have a long post, write in MS Word and then paste it into the post window. This way if you are over the character limit your post won't end up in cyber-space purgatory.
Got a few inches of snow today. Of course, the people up here get all freaked out and so things a re shutting down over 3-3 inches of snow. Freakin losers.
Castle - Haven't forgot about your response. I just haven't had time to do some of the research that I wanted to do on Hillsboro. I don't know anything about the coastal towns other than they are suppsed to be nice with a bit more moderate climate. I'll gather some stuff soon.
