js1200js1000, hey man, thanks a lot for checking out Silver Rain! And thanks for your kind remarks, I'm really glad you liked it! I don't have any CD's recorded, no......I'm slowly working on putting tracks together by myself (those are the ones that I put up on my soundclick) and then at some point I'll choose the ones I like best and I'll record them properly with real musicians....then I'll have a CD! :-) thanks for your interest bro!
Oh and happy 400!
rob310, you changed your name back!?
alter_ego_of_joe, sweet, thanks for checking out my new tune! :-D Yeah absolutely, those are pinch harmonics in there! haha, that was my Norton bridge pickup deciding that it wanted to contribute something more than just notes! hehe.
Anyway yeah, pinch harmonics. You have to hold the pick right by it's picking tip, and as you pick the string you let the side of your thumb-tip very lightly brush the string. You have to be incredibly light with the contact from your thumb and it takes ages of just trying it and trying it and then you'll start to get harmonics coming out.
I think I also let the tip of my first finger lightly brush the string before the pick strikes.....this makes for an action kind of like you're pinching the string between thumb and first finger. I hope that makes sense, it's kind of tricky to explain without demonstrating!
Satriella, I'm just trying to check out the Zonda drawing but it's taking FOREVER. Arggghh I am so p*ss*d off with my dial-up connection.
ooh update....it loaded! Cool, you did the back view.....hey check that email again and I see if I attached the front view photo, I'm sure I did!
The new picture of Joe is ace!

Suzie - I know what you mean, but I really don't like sated gigs as a general rule. The fact that everyone's siting down raly hampers the atmosphere, IMO. There seems to be an entirely different dynamic to seated gigs which I don't really njoy as much as full on standing, rock-out gigs. But at least you don't come away from the gig saying "ooh, God, my back is killing me..."!!! lol
Satriella - lol... There's a pub just across the road from the venue called The Trout - it's kinda half in and half out of Hammersmith tube station - which is probably the best place to meet.

Hi man
Maybe you have a second for me. When you do pull-off's, do you slightly brush the higher adjacent string (with the finger that pulls off) or should one try to pull off passing over the higher adjacent string. Thanks for your help. Love your music.
With best regards

Will "premium packages" be available for the House of Blues Orlando? Venue states "standing" admission only! I love ya Joe, but I'm not spending the cash to only "HEAR" your concert again. We couldn't see the stage when you played there before, and we were very uncomfortable from standing for so long before Joe's set.
We're eager to buy the album and go to the show.

Mornin everyone. Had a great rehearsal yesterday. The group is really comin together. We have started to record rehearsals to evaluate songs at the end of the day. Man what a wake up call. The tape don't lie!! Consequently Babys On Fire-Sammy Hagar got the axe yesterday. Just wasn't sounding good. However Boys are Back in Town-Thin Lizzy sounded off the hook. Man I love having twin leads spots. Anyway back to work. Good vibes out to Wanda, Zinc, and Delfino.
Late.

F1,1st ALONSO, man that was a great race, lap 6 Alonso took the decision to do another lap because of get this a .25 of a second pause with the car in front while shumi was in pitstop, the team coupled that with an amazing pit stop of 7.5 which just gave him that edge.I had my doubts about Alonso last year because Renault had the upper hand over Ferrari due to Ferrari,s bad luck with the car & Bridgestone.Got t hand it t Alonso, the mans so on it.

962 - Oh yeah so ya did, but you can see too much of the inside, so I didn't fancy doing it...I am all for the simple life...although I could pretend I can't see the inside if you really want me to draw it again...but then that would be lying and I don't do that either...actually I don't think I could take the wheels again..no..no..no they nearly put me off doing cars for life, but I am real happy with the new picture of Joe
(photobucket.com search Satriella or http://community.webshots.com/photo/547806136/2887221670084221824pwGaDU for anyone else who wants to see)..
.I may do another one today with him holding a guitar...but I am scared of that..the strings strangely enough seem like a nightmare to do...we will see...may do hendrix first.
Master Yoda - Cheers...even I might be able to find that one...hmmm will you be holding a rose between your teeth or a pint in yer hand...how will I recognize ya...hehehe
Hugs Satriella xx

Yo MOJOE I am soo glad your coming to Cardiff, wales. I've never been to any of your gigs..or any gig for that matter.
Anyway a few quickie questions:
1. Why haven't I heard you play "If I Could Fly" live?
2. Do you watch cartoons? if you do, try and watch Invader Zim and Family Guy
3. When did you get the idea for doing Super Collosal?
4. Have you ever heard of Jason Becker?

Powerslave214 - thanks. I still never heard of a tone poem, but thanks to you, I was now able to get Google results :-)
FYI, here's a decent explanation of a tone poem, if anyone else doesn't know what it is.
aliensurfing - if you're talking about "Super Colossal" the song, Joe explains it in the first installment of the Podcast:
"The idea for this one was to imagine myself 50 or 100 feet tall, walking through downtown with my giant guitar playing some really big riff, which is why I use this little thing called a POG here, which gives me a couple of octaves."
I'm sure he'll explain in more detail on the listening party.

mthead101- No, I don't. I 've haven't had the opportunity to record stuff in a long time. I had about a 12 year gap in my playing. But, since I don't have the stuff needed to record and play out and all that good stuff... I found friends that did!! So, hopefully in the next 3-4 months I should have some stuff up.

mthead101- Yea I know the feeling. I have been trying to get this last band off the ground for almost 2 years now. I feel like the Wright Bros sometimes, We get just enough momentum to start lifting off the ground ... and then a wing breaks and it's back to the drawing board.
I've noticed a remakable improvement in my playing though in the last 2 years. I think it's from being older, a bit more disciplined and more focused. I'm finding it easier to play stuff that I had problems with before. Plus, now I have more cash to put into equiptment. More when I finally graduate and start pullin a check which will be nice. So that is a bonus, too.
