GuitarRuck i think i read somewhere that U2's bono said, i'm not sure, that any CD could be sold for 6 or 7 dollars very easily, if the labels wanted it... who knows, even 8 or 9 would work for me!!!

Oh, well... Let's continue my story...

Today I went to a record store and bought two albums (Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains and a finnish band called LAPKO). Anyway, I have a customer card to that store, so I get a free CD after 10 purchases.

So, what did I do? I got the ten full and grabbed new Satriani. That's how I didn't pay to Sony, but the record store surely has, so I supported Joe on my own way. I really wanted this CD and I got it. Now I'm ripping it to listen to it (I don't have a CD player and I have all my music on my computer, which I use as a jukebox).

Anyway, sorry to start such a war, once again, I don't think CDs are overpriced, it includes so much more than just the artist and the record company...

Cheers!

DotNoir nice...
that was a good one, really...
i also rip all my CDs not because i don't have a CD player but because i listen to them so much and i take them on trips to so many different places i actually wear them off!!!

my "live in san francisco" disc 2 is so scratched is not even funny!!! so now i always do backup copies and safekeep the "originals" so when i totally ruin a copy i just shred it and burn a new one... that's why i hate the new discs with the anty piracy crap, they won't even let me listen to the mp3s on the computer!!!

Now listening to Joe Satriani - Just Like Lightnin' [#02 @ Super Colossal (2006)]

Wow, I'm glad I got this CD :)

And cosmic_ape, I usually also burn a CD for my car player, since I don't really trust it, it has scratches some of my cds in the past :/ Now I have a nice collection of ~300 CDs in the shelf gathering dust :)

But I want to own the CD. If I like some music I want to support it, getting hard with my promises, but I can manage :P

You know what gentlemen. There is a simple solution to all this price of CD's BS. Just make more money! I buy and download all the CD's I like, regardless. I carry a Sony Visa Card so I get points to buy more Sony products! I invest in my own investments. If you cant beat em take advantage of them. I charge everything to my Sony Card, I love it! I have 4 copies of his latest CD. One for my Sony Walkman, one for my car, one to play too in my music room and one for my office, oh and one for my wife because she loves it. By listening to the cd continuously I'm now able to play 8 cuts! To me this is a great investment. Next 2 cds up to bat are Leslie West's "Got Blooze" and the latest Robin Trower CD/DVD. First ever.

e-mailed Matt B. What a great guy, I am going to miss him. Just in case you bassists might be interested he plays a Boosa 5 string with Mark amp. Thats it! Satriella thinks I'm on something but I'm just fired-up for the Fender Festival in one week. Laters, GRRRRRRRRRROWLED OUT

Hey Joe, there is a pianist in our country named Fazil Say, he gives 130 concerts a year around the world he covers Beethoven , Mozart , Bach , Chopin ,Strauss etc. They asked him what does he think about guitar music especially asked him about you and Yngwie Johan Malmsteen, and asked about Jimi Hendrix, his answer was "tell me about real music no electric guitar trash".... How can a musician, one of the best pianists in the world could ever say something like that ? Now does it mean we are not musicians? Which i think your harmony and music knowledge is even larger than everyone or maybe your creation inspiration...i can't really listen to anything but you.... Who cares what other ppl think.. You are my world anyway..i love u

Speaking of Commerce and how poor Joe is barely cutting it in the cruel music biz.........HAHA....I have lots of moula to spend on Joe and want to buy some gear but the only darn thing I can buy is a poster? Now I am pretty sure the profit margins on a t-shirt, coffe mug and keychain are much better than those mean ol' overpriced Cd's from that Monster Sony. Does a Hanes t-shirt really cost$35? Nope maybe a $1 or $2 wholesale, so that is why artists, teams, and evryone sells swag. HIGH profit margins. Imagine going to your favorite sporting event and no swag.....Now I am a buyer ready to buy and I want my Joe swag now, I am an American and I want it nowwwwwwwwww, go figure. I don't want to wait until Vegas. Seriously Joe can you get on whomever is in charge of your Merchandise and light a small fire under there ars. Your losing mucho money. It is sad. I have lots of money, want to pay top dollar and cannot. I of course have no silk screening experience and cannot download or steal a t-shirt so can you remedy this controllable situation? I would love to give free advertising for you too without asking for any kickback:) of course, happily converting any non Joe believer's over to Satchland........please help. Thank you.

ForgottenTimeMachine - it's quite tragic that someone apparently so talented musically can be so snobbish. He's one of the ranks that I call "educated musical snobs" - as in he's a person who thinks he is a real musician because he's put in time and effort to learn one instrument and has been taught by teachers, yet remains very narrow minded and closed off to other types of music. I play guitar, I like rock music, and I don't profess to be particularly incredible on my instrument of choice, but I also enjoy and appreciate acts such as Nine Inch Nails - industrial, Frou Frou - electro pop, Public Enemy - hip hop, Bach and Beethoven among other classical composers, etc.. I just find it ridiculous that people can claim to be so good yet be so narrow minded.

This is without a doubt one of the nicest good luck forwards I have received. Hope it works for you -- and me!

There's some mighty fine advice in these words, even if you're not superstitious. This has been sent To you for good luck from the Anthony Robbins organization. It has been sent around the world ten times so Far.

A copy of this message must leave your hands in 6 MINUTES. Otherwise you will get a very unpleasant surprise. This is true, even if you are not superstitious, agnostic, or otherwise faith impaired.

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

FOUR. When you say, "I love you," mean it.

FIVE. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.

SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.

EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.

NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.

TEN.. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.

TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.

THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"

FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

FIFTEEN. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.

SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson

SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.

EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.

TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.

Now, here's the FUN part!

Copy and send this to at least 5 people and your life will improve. 1-4 people: Your life will improve slightly. 5-9 people: Your life will improve to your liking. 9-14 people: You will have at least 5 surprises in the next 3 weeks

15 and above: Your life will improve drastically and everything you ever dreamed of will begin to take shape.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart. Do not keep this message

Chat peeps, sorry I bailed out last night without saying goodnight. Once again, my darling kitten was at it again. He stepped on the on/off button on the power strip under my desk and shut the whole thing down. Lawd gimme strenff to deal wiff dis lil boy! lol! A few hours before that, he made an attempt to jump up on my dresser. He didn't jump hard enough to get his back feet up, but his front feet (claws) did happen to grab hold of the dresser cover and he pulled the entire works down on his empty lil' head! What a mess! Earrings and jewelry everywhere, perfume spilled, everything was everywhere. lol! He certainly picked the right name when he picked Sully (after Sully Erna of Godsmack). This boy is outta control! lol! I should have put names in the pile like Spuds or Muffin. Maybe he would have been a bit more sedate. Now what the poor kitty hears the most is SullyGitDown! lol! Oi, my noives!! lol!

JOE, WOULD YOU PLEASE LIST A DATE NEAR KLAMATH FALLS, OREGON!!! ALSO MAKE SURE TO MEET GOTTAHAVEJOE (kayla) AFTER (insert show of her choice here)

....You know, I find it interesting that my favorite tracks off Super Colossal are: A Cool New Way, One Robot's Dream, The Meaning of Love and Made of Tears, songs 6, 7, 8, 9.... Mr. Simon Phillips (who has been a longtime fave of mine) really brings out the vibe in those tracks, as well as Joe, IMO.... Who would agree with me??....

....This album grows on me daily, and like I said before, Joe will always carry the torch....

....Later peeps....

Rules for Driving in Chicago

The morning rush hour is from 5AM to noon. The evening rush hour is from 3PM to 10PM. Friday's rush hour starts Thursday morning.

If you actually stop at a yellow light, you will be rear ended, cussed out and possibly shot.

When you are the first one on the starting line, count to five when the light turns green before going to avoid crashing with all the drivers running the red light in cross-traffic.

If someone actually has their turn signal on, it is probably a factory defect.

Car horns are actually "Road Rage" indicators.

All old ladies with blue hair in Mercedes have the right of way. Period.

A trip across town (east to west) will take a minimum of four hours, although many north/south expressways have unposted minimum speeds of 75.

Hey Zinc Master....Rules for Driving in Vegas........NONE! Why? Because All the transients from the entire world come here to live and are practicing DWS (Driving While Stupid), just look at the state trooper who recently was driving at a speed of 115 plus mph no lights on, no emergency call, just needed to get home to study for an exam and killed 4 of the 5 people he rear ended. The one woman with twins in her belly survived as well as the unborn babies. Imagine the shock he is still a free man:(................
