Hey, this party is getting better and better. I think peoples true feeling are being broadcasted. All of yu who responded to my posting(s), thank yu very much. Maybe I should start my own site. Before I signed in it was a bit dull. I can just feel the blood coursing thru my veins. There are some of you holding back out there, I can just sense it. Remember ladies and gentlemen, if you scroll back in time it was not I who casted the first stone. Check it out. I merely expressed my thoughts and view on subjects already mentioned. This is a fact. I shall drop my continued attack on the Bush Bashers because all of us are hardheads when it comes to politics. But you must admit it created quit a stir. I will not let CUTHBERT1776 of the hook.

I do not have the time to fully educate a guitar teacher in the basics of anatomical structure, physiology, muscle memory, proprioception, etc. etc. You need to start at the basics. Research EMG studies, do you know what those are? Get into muscle, tendon, fascia, bone structure. I remember going to an instructor like you. Almost all are the same. This dude was supposedly a Bass Master. We need to work on posturing and finger positioning and all this BS! I ended up having to give him a lesson on anatomy so he would be able to more definitively answer and instruct the pupil on how best to play. You are living in the past. The question is speed. Educate me in biochemical and physiological terms just how speed is conducted. I am challenging your superior knowledge hotshot. No input from others, research all you want, I'll wait. It is not going to happen guitar teacher. I bow down before neurologists, orthopaedic surgeons, doctorates of science, but no piss ant guitar teacher has more knowledge about how to train upper extremity speed than I do. All of you guitarists, if you are not training your abdominal core, the shoulder core, and the extrinsic and intrinsic muscles of your forearm and hand, you are doing yourself a great disservice. As one of yu referenced Joes comments regarding the issue. Scientifically, as I explained before, speed and accuracy are two separate entities. The question was speed. PRE's are essential for quicker progress, and to reach your optimal potential as a guitarist. I have explained the program. Scroll back and take notes. You want to reach your full potential? Listen, CUTHBERT1776, you were rude and ignorant in the way you cut me off. I'm prescribing the supplement NEUROPATH to you. You can find it online. It helps stimulate the braincells function and bloodflow to the brain. Try it, you'll like it. Remember how I talked about Clapton, PRE's baby. GRRRRRRRROWLER OUT

this is funny >>

>>1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... I know where my watch is pal, where the heck is yours? Do I point at my pants when I ask where the toilet is?

2 People who are willing to get off their butt to search the entire room for the T.V. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.

>>3 When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". dang right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?

>>4 When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the heck would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they?

>> 5 When people say while watching a film "did you see that?". No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the floor.

>>6 People who ask "Can I ask you a question?".... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?

>>7. When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.

>>8 When people say "life is short". What the heck?? Life is the longest darn thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?

>>9 When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks "Has the bus come yet?". If the bus came would I be standing here?

GROWLER, maybe you can give me some advice with this:

i moved to the US 3 months ago, and i had too much stuff to move so i didn't take my guitars with me (the airline wanted to charge me too much for that "overweight")... my question is: what kind of exercises should i do so i don't completely lose my ability to play?
i'm saving up to get a new guitar but i don't know when that's gonna be, so... i went to a guitar shop to look at guitars and after a little warming up i unsuccessfully tried to play some stuff... i freaked out... can u help me? what should i do until i can start practicing again???/

Shane 7699, Iagree about some dvd's with some songs not featured on other dvd's. How about cryin' or tears in the rain. Luminous flesh giants would be cool too. It's too bad you have never seen Joe live, it's a hell of a show.

OCPS470-Just read your entry(s) after my last entry. I think you misunderstand what I said. Weight training does not translate into "brute force". The stronger you are, the easier it is to accomplish work. Work=Force x Distance. If you are weak in lets say the 5th digit pinky you are going to have to bear down and use more force, energy and time to accomplish that simple task. This is common sense. You see, most people who instruct assume that the student has the strength to at least engage the cord. I for one had very weak 4th and 5th digits, plus the fact that I have nerve conduction deficits in my thumb. This was very difficult to overcome. I worked on it extensively and overcame the weakness. Some students are perfectly strong in all digits, but this is rare. Joe is saying that if you have the strength and engage the cord hard, this is a problem. But do you see my point. Strength is essential for playing, period. Not bone crushing strength, but strength enough to allow the student to jump from point to point stress-free instead of having to what Joe calls hammer. I dont care what dumb ass CUTHBERT says, she must think I want to turn the guitarist into a bodybuilder. Who knows. But she does not understand because she is living in the dark ages and is ignorant of science. Nobody expects Joe to know all the science behind what he is teaching.

Final point. I dont know squat about how to install a garbage disposal. When the repairman comes over to fix it I stand back, watch, and learn. I dont shoot of my mouth and tell him he does'nt know what he is doing like some people on this website do. I dont know what you people do as a profession, but I'm not going to insult my mechanic and tell him he is doing a poor job, when I dont know what I'm talking about. This is the way of the f...ing mainland haole. Dont be one of those.

SteveeT: I got turned on to Red wine when I was in San Clemente, CA visiting family before the NAMM show 2005. We sampled a different vineyard almost every night I believe. I had THE BEST Steaks there......OMG!! Then In Oct when I was in the UK & Holland I had many fine Red Wines. They have all the great French and European Wines much cheaper than in the states....Great Wine. I did quite well in Bodybuilding but since I went back to school I slacked off and I'm outa shape. However, I've been getting my ass to the gym often. it's not everyday but it will be close soon. I fell asleep in the car for 30 mins yesterday at the gym. 4:30 is very early to start the day........work at 6 am! I've been burning the candle at both ends, that won't last long. 22 DAYs till Joe........Won't be long Stevee!! ;-))

Peace.

DCK: I just got it tonight! I just finished the 1st listen. To me the 1st CD had more diversity& was stronger. Echo is a fitting name. I've only given one listen so I won't really comment yet. The one tract that really stood out was Spanish Zenfish, (Spanish Fly would've been a kuul name too.) ;-)) I'll give you a better review after I've had a few more listens. Great work to all those that contributed!!! Wish I could play good enough to be on there someday....

Ovation: Mikey, I agree with you on Joe's new CD but song #2 Just Like Lightning gets my Blues's moving & my body grooving.....I really like Theme for A Strange World too! I've only got a handful of listens so I need to hear more before the music can penetrate my soul to figure out the album. I really like what I've heard so far......there's a few song's I'm already starting to Love, justa matter of time & listening. ;-))

MTHead: Hey Mark!! How's things in the Great White NOrth?! lol

Alexandre: Hello my wonderful friend! Maybe next week we see Portugal dates for Joe?! Fingers crossed. The newsletter said more Europe dates next week......Hugs!! ~~Sea Eyes~~

WHERE IS SpoonManMick? You still out there Brotha?!! miss you dude!

Hey Joe...

I was wondering about the song "Ten Words" and it's relation to the 9-11 attack. Does this have anything to do with the title?

L8r... =o|-[

In ten words, Donald Rumsfeld had confirmed our very worst fears about the Bush administration's reckless approach to Iraq. Looking at the article, it is obvious that CBS knew that the last few sentences were the key part of the quotation. Printed in bold letters, under a menacing photo of Rumsfeld, were the lines: "Go massive . . . Sweep it all up. Things related and not."

Indeed cuthbert, as I'm from New Zealand I'm kind of looking in from the outside, and my perceptions of the political spectrum in the US are coloured by what we have in New Zealand. What you regard as left wing/ socialist over there would most likely be regarded as centrist here. So you're right, my grip on the political landscape of the US would be far below yours.

Growler, when are they going to come for you over in the US? The war in Iraq is about three things, and terrorism isn't one of them: oil, religion and middle eastern hegemony. A road to american domination of the world, if you will. You might have noticed (or not, NZ is pretty small) that while you over in the US and Bush's chums in the war on terror Australia and England are pissing yourselves in fear of a terrorist attack, small nations like us watch with interest and bemusement from the outside at how your nation likes to stab itself in the back and how Bush keeps the public ground under his fist by raising the spectre of terrorism. Get it straight. 9/11 was a one off, probably funded by American money given to Bin Laden when he and the US were chums. Read Hegemony and Survival by Noam Chomsky. A damn good book, it might open your eyes.
