Hey Joe, do you really read these messages? I have the JS1200 and I,ve never played a sweeter guitar. Definitely nowhere near your skill level. What does it take to be taught by you? I am self taught and I know there is so much for me to learn. Please, get back to me if you get a chance.

Saw Joe for the 1st time at the Tower in Phila on Weds. Easily one of the best concerts I've ever seen and I'm 50. 10 times the ticket price would still be a bargain. I hope to see him many more times. He rules.

boceth - Hello. Here is a set list (tentative - I did NOT put this into the palm pilot during the show, which would make for an exact list) that I came up with a couple days after the show in Cleveland at the Agora Theater on April 8th:

Eric Johnson - Summer Jam, Top Of The Mountain, My Back Pages, Trademark, Bloom, Righteous, Camel's Night Out, Columbia, Cliffs Of Dover - somewhere he played a Hendrix song that I do not have nor do I know the name of it.

Joe Satriani - Flying In A Blue Dream, The Extremist, Psycho Monkey, Cool No. 9, The Eight Steps, Speed Of Light, Always With Me Always With You, Super Colossal, Just Like Lightnin', A Cool New Way, I Believe, The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing, Surfing With The Alien, Ten Words, Mind Storm, New Blues Beach, Satch Boogie, ENCORE Crowd Chant, Summer Song

Then here is a review:

Cleveland, Agora Theater Show, April 8th will forever remain in my mind as the greatest show ever. I can honestly say I would have paid to see only Eric Johnson or only Joe Satriani, alone, either. It was a cool night, the mood was right, and rock was to get a taste of immortality! I would LOVE to have had a DVD of it! I only wish!

Eric Johnson is so good, and he is night and day different from Satch, both in style and approach. I was shocked that Johnson was LOUDER than Satch. Not any of the following play louder: not VH, not Hagar, not Whitesnake, not Scorpions, not KISS; nobody plays louder than Eric Johnson except maybe Spinal Tap.

It affects who can and how well they can hear Eric's voice. EJ, you're one of the best - USE A MACINTOSH. Connect that to your system, elimate the old amps, eliminate the hum, lower the volume and you're SET! Use Satch's parameters, but in your realm, please!

Satch, you're sound is virtually PERFECT! Everything was beyond kosher. MY SON and I were the only two in our section (balcony) who knew what the hell to do during "Crowd Chant" which ironically was in my head all day, and I was as happy to hear it as I was during "Summer Song" closing the show. You're the best SATCH! NO PUN INTENDED.

Joe Satriani is so good he doesn't take himself seriously. That's huge! Playing, slow moving, nodding.... You are just "Cool", Big C. That's in the spirit of one of my jams "Wow, Big W".....

Never change, Satch. Eric, if you read this, you rock to the Heavens too! PLEASE re-consider your get up and set up. You could emulate every tone you want with a Mac! NO HUM!

Then here is a great idea:

I sent this email earlier today. I think all who agree should also be so inclined to follow suit. tonightshow@nbc.com - tell these guys you highly recommend they insert Satch into their lineup! It was a great idea I saw posted earlier.

Zincster.. I luv Star wars and agree that some of the Star Trek movies weren't that great for sure.. but considering the ERA (cicra 1966) i just gota give credit where its due !! I too hope the movie is good.. not sure about the number system though.. i guess on a scale of 1-10 8 is pretty good.. we'll see my man !!1 lol MT

cuthbert1776.. codos on the overacting i still get a kick out of it !!! By visionary i meant that things like no desease , poverty, prejudice like having a black person. .. Woman at that..a russian..a scott..and the topper an ALIEN working to gether in presuit of betterment was - considering the ERA- truly a beautiful visionary.. as well as the Moral underlying themes and all the chumpies (MTHEAD orignal)/ gismos/gadgits/ like mini computer screnes.. communicators..tapes (much like the floppy) ETC, ETC.. again visionary.. but your point is well taken my man !! Also i've never in my life been more impressed by an acronym that encompasses thee all like the 'IDIC' Infinite diversity in infinite combinations... wow..kinda sums up the everything dont it.. and in the words of one of my favorite ham actors " Scotty beam me up.. theres no intelligent life down here " lol MT

Ovation 1.. YES indeed T2J gals Rock Hard...Mel; Chell. Cheese, K, Satriella, Lucy and all the others i might have missed... What Mikey san Said !!!!!!! lol MT

Knowledgeable Musos

Someone asked about Gov't Mule so I looked them up by genre on my pmp. They were under 'Jam bands'.

I then looked for The Black Keys and they were under 'Lo Fi/Garage'.

Anyone feel like explaining what that means?

Steve.

Good Morning Satchland.....and beautiful morn it is in Chicago....

Mari......Thanks for "What goes Around Comes Around" That was a great story. Hugs

SteveeT/Mari...... How was the Jammy's? Did Joe play with his band or was he there as a guest performer?

mikesb..... Nice video. You're right. Nothing can get in the way of determination. That kid is a blazer. Very impressive indeed. Thanks for askin' about the band. Made some headway....found a rhythm guitarist / vocalist and basssist/vocalist that's interested. Sent out cd's and will be auditioning in the next 2 weeks. We'll see how it goes. I haven't heard of the Greaseballs. It seems they've been in the Chicago area for a while. How's the CD? It's getting good reviews on there site. click here Thanks

gottahavejoe......I'm happy for ya sweetie.....Hugs to you.

Have A Great Day Everyone ! ! !
