Shredguy - I agree with Civgeek that the Fender G-DEC is a pretty cool little amp. I have one and have a lot of fun with it. I also just purchased a Line 6 Spider II 15w amp that is pretty cool too. It has four amp models plus 7 DSP effects. It has a single phones/record out jack and also has a CD input for jamming. I found a used JS100 at the same store and it sounds truly wonderful through the Line 6, wish I had the money for a 1000 or 1200. The one feature the Line 6 has over the Fender, it's about $100 cheaper!!
I was at the Seattle show last evening and both Eric and Joe were superb. The only thing I didn't like was the mix, the bass and rythm guitar were really muddled and I was only about 8 rows back. Both players were in great form.

Bahduh: No problem Mark. I can't get to Steven as much anymore because of Gas, and work. I have not been on T2J for a while because we are rolling out new software at work. It'll be a few weeks before we all learn the quwerks of the system. I also got ahold of Buzzy Linhart and talked with him about ATN's digital sales. Buzz is doing better and still suffers from cronic arthritis, but he sounded quite happy on the phone. He's informed about Steven, him knowing his(Steven's) Mom, Helen. I caught him up on doings with ATN. JOE: Buzzy Says "HI." He's still in Berkeley CA. I told Him "Hi' from you! ICEMAN 2: Joe is an inspiration and a phenomonon. (sp) Thanks for being out there so long Joe! I'm sure he thinks were a phenomonon(sp) to him as well. Just read some of the posts here. KTF

R3TR: In general Ibanez's Japanese guitars are supposed to be their top quality. From personal experience, I'll tell you that I own a Korean S470, and the construction is very very tight, and it sounds amazing. I also own an RG421 made in Japan. It is an excellenbt instruement, but I have to say that the build quality on the S470 is a tad tighter...this may just be a fluke, however. As far s strings, you can use any brand you want (I reccomend D'Addario) but unless you want to make adjustments to the instrument (trussrod and intonation adjustments) make sure that whatever brand you go with is a .009 - .042 set. I hope this helps.

Good evening fellow Satch fans! Being a person who is Turkish, i want to say something about Turkish delight.Turkish Delight, or lokum,is a confection made from starch and sugar which is often flavored with rosewater or lemon...That's all i know.

g'day joe, band ,webmaster, every one esle
Joe , do u ever wake up some days and think, man i feel like crap, for no reason at all, ? u just mope around the house , dont go no where, dont go out ? Ive pretty much isoliated myself the last few weeks,
especially since earlier this year my church music leader wouldnt let me back in the band cause i took a couple of years off (after nine years of playing) and looking after mum
I need to be back there week in week out, I told them i didnt have the time so hardly been back at alll over this year..
I feel like im going no where, my music sucks, I feel like ive been playing since i was 6 and have nothing to show for it other than a stupid blog site and crap songs..
I do my best to help out my dad , while looking after mum, but then sometimes i stuff up and dad yells at me, i mean I live on my own , im 36 now and my dad still yells at me for the slightest s*****...
sometimes i think whats the F******* point?
I just seem to be living from day to day, trying to make ends meet on my very limited income, sure i got my own house and car, but dad helpd out alot with that, Im greatful dont get me wrong but I dunno. I seem like i have no reason for beaing here, no reason to pick up my guitars and play, same crap over n over,
I got no inspiration any more.. . whats happend with my life?
am i going thru mid life crisis or something ?????
I dunno why i even come here or on the net for that matter.
just dont want to be me at this time..
you ever feel like that joe, I mean u play nearly every nite of the week while on tour, dont u get sick of it, wish u wer home watching tv with the wife, playing with the kids etc ?
I dunno whats wrong with me latley... just feel like S****

Hi joe, this is the first message im posting on this website as a brand new member. Mauritius here. Thing is, i always loved guitars, but i never really could achieve the dream of playing (i have an accoustic guitar somewhere in my garage, with only 1 string in it- i got that when i was like 3, but never learnt). However, i watched G3 live in Denver at a pal's place, then it went all over my head. Im not letting it go this time, and thinking of buying an electric guitar, but i can't find much for lefty's on the internet, except for an Ibanez GRX20L (that one suits my financial position- med school student). What's your advice to someone who's left it this late to learn guitar, about teaching myself, and about the choice of my instrument?

civgeek, OCPS470, Thanks a lot for your answers. Appreciate.
What happened to me… I keep asking questions because they keep coming…
Did anyone ever come across fake Ibanez guitar? For newbie, is there any robust method of identifying the fake?
Just interested, I mean buying in the large music store must be pretty safe.
For instance, I’ve heard that in Russia, Moscow, in small kiosk-style shops they sell piles of fake Fenders, made in China or Korea, normally easy identifiable because of suspiciously low price. However, some of them not that cheap and quite well built so not easy to distinguish unless you had at least several guitars or see something at the technology level that you know for sure Fender never does.

R3TR, no problem at all dude.
No the SA120 won't be Japanese, only the finest Ibanez guitars are made in Japan these days, but it's all good cause Hoshino has invested a lot of dollars in it's other production lines. Yeah check for damage, neck geometry and since I recently had brief ownership of the worst S470 I've ever come across, check that the frets aren't lifting! hehe.
I'm sure it'll be fine though, the SA's are nice, solid guitars. And I'd be surprised if you found a fake Ibanez SA120 - if anybody was going to make and sell a knock-off Ibanez, they'd make a Jem 'cause it's the one that everybody recognises. You see them on ebay quite frequently.
As for the strings question - I always find a new guitar sounds better after a re-string because the strings on it will have come all the way from Taiwan/Korea/Japan/whatever and tend to sound pretty nasty. My recommendation is always D'Addario, I've been using them for 3 years or so and wouldn't change.
They've got colour-coded ball-ends which is very handy, they're packed in a more environmentally-friendly way than all other brands, they always feel and sound the same and consistency is paramount. Also their fade is almost linear, ie. they go off gradually and predictably.
I find Ernie Balls are fine for a few weeks then degrade rapidly, while GHS sound beautiful for about 3 days and then they're shot. The gradual, linear degradation of D'Addario strings means the average beginner can safely keep a set for 8 or 10 weeks without needing to change them.
Zinc Master, hahahaha, thanks for the "classifieds", the last one was best, with the parachute one a close runner-up!
ICEMAN II, yeah, basically just rosewater and sugar, and I guess some gelatin or some other gelling agent to make it firm up.
Oop, just saw donnie_darko's post, add starch to the list of potential gelling agents!
donnie_darko, thanks for your input dude! Respect to you for being from the country responsible for Turkish Delight - I wish we had such a refined export as that in this country; our current top exports are football hooligans and reality TV. How embarrassing.
