I see ya down there Magnason.........your Right. The sound man was blowing it. I could hardly hear Joe's Guitar the first three songs. Bass was way to loud. It seemed to get much better as the show went on....at least from where I was sitting...........other than that blunder Joe was bitchen.

Joe, just read the message from the 14 yr old kid and I have to say, man I feel like a 14 yr old everytime I hear your music. My 17 yr old son has always dug your music since he was about 8 yrs old and most everyone who hangs around me and hears you for the first time reacts the same way. Keep on doing that Strange Beautiful thing you do with that Ibanez. Onward, Shalla-Bal awaits with open arms!!!!!!

Hey Joe I don't know if you'll get this in time, but I'm seeing you on the 19th June at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, England and was wondering if there was the faintest possibility of you being able to sign my guitar? It's one of yours - an Ibanez JS1200, and i just thought it would be the coolest thing ever to have you sign it. If it's not possible, don't worry about it, I'm sure the show will be fantastic, and good luck!

Many thanks, Josh Raven

P.S. Here's a thought for your next G3 - what about playing with some of your old pupils e.g. Kirk Hammett, Charlie Hunter, etc? Or what about Herman Lee from Dragonforce-he plays a lot of stuff along the same lines as you. Thanks.

Joe, my wife and I were able to meet you in San Diego last week. My wife was the one that was hit in the face by your guitar pick. She was the one who used to work for Relativity Records in New York. Remember? Nice shot by the way. Any way, I just wanted to say that your shows are great, but meeting you really was a highlight in my life. The best part of meeting you was walking away thinking how down to earth, soft spoken, and genuine of an individual you are. I cannot speak for everyone in the room, but my wife and I came away thinking "wow! he would really be cool to just hang around with". Your presence on stage is that of a Superstar, but your presence in real life is that you are a good human being. Thanks for experience. That was priceless! P.S. I am going to keep posting this until you respond. I am not a stalking fan, just a very grateful one. Post #1

Hey Satch fans! This is my first post to the forum, although I've been following the board for a while in anticipation of tomorrows show in Portland!! I must say, I'm very impressed with the members here. I've seen many humorous posts, a lot of good advice, some obvious long term friendships and a common appreciation of Joe Satriani; both his music and himself as a person. It's rare to find one so accessible to his fans. He even replies to members of this forum!!! From what I've seen, you people are as down to earth, considerate and friendly as Joe.

Kenito - I own both a JS1000 (actually 2) and a Carvin SC90 (single cut, les paul style). The necks somewhat different but equally playable. The back side of the JS neck has a wonder, natural feel to it. I believe it is a compound radius neck that is equally playable up and down the fretboard. The frets and fretboard are well made and the neck can be set up with nearly no relief (very flat). Real quality work. 22 frets. The Carvin neck is thinner and the fretboard is wider. As with the JS, the Carvin frets and fretboard (ebony) are very well manufactured. Carvin guarantees a string height of 1/16" across the fretboard. 24 frets on the Carvin. The only issues I have ever had with Carvin equipment have been electronic. I had a bad crossover in a PA speaker and the pickup switch on my SC90 was noisey. Carvin immediatly sent me replacement parts for both items. (Had to replace the replacement switch with a gibson switch to eliminate the noise!) Out of the two guitars, I would choose the JS1000 but only because of it's versitility (coil splitting, treble enhancing cap, floyd rose).

Joe - Thanks for being such a great hero to all of your fans. Your songwriting, your guitar playing and your persona are an inspiration to us all.

Tulsa/Gotta - Joe has done so much for all of us...what could I possibly do for him??? Maybe I'll take him a delicious bass!!!

Guitars Rule!!!!!

Iv'e got to say, im pretty ticked off right now. Its 7:46pm meaning its only a couple hours until Joe goes on at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, and I don't get to go because im not old enough. You know, it really sucks when you want to see one of your heroes of the guitar but something as silly as your age prevents you from doing so. I don't see why Joe couldn't have had the show at the Orpheum or Queen E because they are both pretty nice places and i bet you could make more money off there, and the sound is really good at the Orpheum. I really hope he comes back or something, because blasting your Super Colossal on iTunes is probably nothing compared to seeing him live. Oh well, thats my 2-cents i guess.

Zenman: Damn staright bro, same with me for Mr. Gilmour, as I know Joe must feel the same way....

962: Awesome news bro on getting Andy T and Pablo at the same time, lol!!.... Andy's is on my list, and as far as fave Pablo cd.... Alligator Farm is up there and I agree with the silly/whacky, lol, there are alot of songs on there, and Six Billion People is one of my faves!.... I would have to say Burning Organ or Space Ship One for their sheer intensity, but then again Flying Dog and King Of Clubs is so close, lol, sh*t, I cant decide, lol!!....

Artanis I: lol bro, get some sleep!!.... And thanks for passing on the news about the miners.... I was amazed to find out how long they were down there and how they kept them alive!.... Kudos!....

CroNumber9: CONGRATS!! :-) :-)

Stevee T: Thanks for all things David Hasselhoff! Rotflmao!....

aussieRGman: Hang in there bro, we all have our days.... It's all part of life, and that is how we grow, by getting over the downs.... Always remember that there are a lot of other people in this world that are a lot less fortunate than us, and it will help keep your perspective on things we cannot control.... Hold your chin up and conquer, never give up!.... Keep us posted man....

Ovation1, hehe, yeah it's a bit of a tricky one isn't it? Just when I think I've decided on my favourite Paul Gilbert album I remember another one that I love SOOO much. haha. Also, agreed on 6 billion people!

Andy's new record is immense, and it was great to get it and Alligator Farm on the same day; I'll hopefully be recieving Super Colossal today or tomorrow....this is what they call "a good week"!

Satriella, haha, 96.2% is a good number! Thank you very much! Also yeah, I figured I'd have ample time to get familiar with SC before the show next month, I can't wait to hear it.
Zinc Master/anyone else interested, I heard a little more info on those Sony PS3 launch figures last night.....it sounds like Sony are really floundering, it's quite amazing. I never would have expected it at the time PS2 came out, but they are screwing themselves this time round.

So much so that most game studios have not signed Sony-exclusive contracts and will be making their games multi-platform; Final Fantasy XI will be an all-platform title as will GTA4. GTA4 has always come out on Playstation 6 months before everything else. Muahahaha, I'm loving it, it's about time Sony's empire was cut down to size.
