EVERYONE INTERESTED!!!
finally i uploaded a song on soundclicks!!! after almost a week i got a day off to do this!!!
a little info on this track:
ok, so basically this track is an instrumental version of a latin sort of folk song with a flamenco progression... it's like public domain so i took the liberty of messing with it... i used to play this track with a friend of mine back in college (like a year ago! i'm not that old!), and the arrangement is inspired in the "guitar trio" formed by John McLaughlin, Al di Meola and Paco de Lucia... We used to play a couple of the songs they recorded (really advanced stuff!!! took like forever to figure out each song!!!) so we ended up with a little acoustic instrumental repertoire... We came up with using this song's main melody, harmonize it and make a few variations here and there (the main theme basically) and have a couple improvised solos...
so, in this version i play all guitars, the rhythm is in the center channel, the original melody goes on the left one, and the harmony goes on the right one... I also played one solo on each channel (each guitar has a different setting, so it'd sound like two different guys, or at least that was my intention), after reading Joe's approach to soloing, i decided to not write anything but just improvise them all! after five or six takes i thought i came up with something decent, lol...
I'd advice you guys to use some headphones to improve the 'experience', just like the original "guitar trio" recordings, i split the guitars on channels (as i wrote above), to recreate the vibe a little bit... i used a free software to record, i thought it was gonna be really crappy but it actually amazes me how good it sounds... basically i recorded it to show a little of what i like to do, to have some feedback and to learn how to use the damn software, lol...
i hadn't played guitar in a few months, so go easy on me guys, have a little mercy... i hope i'll get the time to post some electric stuff later (i might have to actually write something new for that!)
so here's the link:

Hey joe thank you for such a good show at the paramount in seattle. That was the sixth time I have seen you over the years and I think that this was the best show that you have ever put on. I felt as though I was lost in a dream of musical bliss hoping I would never wake up. Thank you so much for making the greatest music on the planet and don't ever stop. I hope and pray that you will be back to seattle for an evening with joe perhaps at the show box. Congrats on an amazing new album and I wish you and the band all the best

Hello chums, I'm back.
A while ago there were a few posts about Ten Words and what they may be. Well I came up with something while I was away and had a few minutes to spare and would like to share with you. I'm going to post it on it's own though and apologise in advance if this ends up as a double post.
Keep rocking
Steve.

TEN WORDS
Ive been a thinking lately
That I am so much in love with you
We been through it together baby
And weve seen our problems through
Now is the time for me to speak out
Ive got ten words for you
Just wanna spend the rest of my life with you
Just wanna spend the rest of my life with - you
I know its been a long time coming
And youve been real patient too
I may be hard to live with sometimes
But Id give my life for you
Now is the time for me to say it
Ive got ten words for you
Just wanna spend the rest of my life with - you
(Instrumental)
Ive been a thinking lately
That I am so much in love with you
We been through it together baby
And weve seen our problems through
Now is the time for me to speak out
Ive got ten words for you
Just wanna spend the rest of my life with you

I received this one today . . .
Rumination of the Day
I ran out of soap in the shower this
morning, so I washed myself with shampoo.
It works well enough, but I have to say
I find the whole pubic-hair-alive-with-
bounce-and-body thing a little unsettling.
Hoping all have a great weekend.
Ok. Enough. Stop thinking about shampoo.

Hi Joe, it was great to meet you backstage here in Vancouver on May10th/2006. The show was brilliant however I wanted to ask you a few more questions but we ran out of time. I was the guy that asked you about your solo in Crushing Day and questions about improvisation. We also talked briefly about Hendrix.
Music to me is more than just a hobby and I have to say that your music has been with me growing up and in a way, it goes a long way in defining me as a person. I wanted to tell you that but I wanted to ask questions on improvisation and song writing so I didn't get a chance.
Is there love in space? has a very huge emotional effect on me because my wife and I are expecting our first little one in August and we got some potentially bad news and had to go to an all day hospital appointment. Anyways, I couldn't stop listening to Is there love in space? for 2 days prior to the appointment. This song (especially the solo) is so emotional and moving. On the way down to the hospital, a wave of emotion just washed over me and you know, I told my wife that everything is gonna be alright. Sure enough, we got great news and it looks like things will be OK afterall.
Not that the song had anything to do with it, however, the feeling of positive hope came directly from your amazing music. Next year, my wife is gonna come to the show and we will see you backstage again!!
Thanks Joe for your amazing, unbelievable, beautiful, inspirational music.
Cheers,
Lucky Bhangav.

Hey Joe,
My brother and I saw you at the Wiltern in LA 06MAY06 and you totally rocked!! We were Platinum ticket holders, saw the show, held the guitar--got the picture taken, but missed out on the meet & greet portion, so I just wanted to say, "great show and I can't wait to see the next one sometime soon!"

I saw you in Santa Rosa, CA in 1990. I was sitting in the front row center with my ex-boyfriend Eric Meyer. He had long wavy black hair, and I had long curly blonde hair.....I so remember your face, and it was the most incredible experience listening to your guitar music. Do you remember me?.....probably not.......

Why are you soooo sad Cheese101? I'm new here and I don't know what's going on. But I do know that it's 7:56 pm on Friday....so Joe Satriani must be getting ready to perform in Reno...I noticed that, and that tomarrow is the last day of his tour in SF at the Warfield....I'm about two hours from there. I just joined here yesterday...I saw him in 1990, I don't believe it....I think it was a private show...I don't really remember, but I remember the show, and him of course....hmm...someone was mentioning Joe Satriani the other day....oh I remember now, it was about a version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow...someone had a file of it that he had performed? ...so I thought of him and came over here.
