Satriella You get VERY excited, don't you?? It must have been a very strange time for your friends when you first popped your cherry. Is it all you wrote for a year or so?

Hey Joe, love your work. I've seen a few 'Joe Satriani Myspace sites', and was just wondering if you had an official one. If so, what is it? I don't want to just go adding people who are pretending to be you, or wish they were you.

Satriella, you know I still don't get it.....I mean, I don't have a problem with you (or anyone else) not liking a tune of mine, indeed, I'm happy to hear what people don't like if they can give a decent explanation.

But I don't get how you can say a certain tune isn't "me", as if you know all the facets of my character and personality, and can say what is me!

Like I've said before, you've only heard some of what I've done. You haven't heard, for example, the "electronic" stuff that I've done with one of my good mates, and you haven't heard the metal I've played with another one of my good mates either!

I've done other stuff as well, there's a whole big load of variety going on, and you've only heard one side of it. Also to be honest, I personally am quite happy with "Kyoto Dream" as a tune, and I'm happy with how accurately it resembles the sound and vibe I had in my head.

There is quite a lot about it which is "me" and which says a lot about the characteristics of my playing.....but maybe I'm the only one hearing it?

If anybody else would like to interject and share their comments, please feel free!

Stevee T: Kuul bro, hope you get to make the show!.... Mikey K is amazing!!.... And amen bro on the top 10 guitar songs!!.... Joe has got that list nailed no question!!....

bahduh: Good to hear from you bro, I'll check mail after this, and I'll be watching the first match at 2200 here tonite! :-) All the best to you and yours....

Satriella: :-)

962: hey man, no prob, that's what Satch friends are for, lol, I've not got a chance to play with the GP files, but it looks pretty legit.... Oh, and that was interesting news about Bryan, he is an amazing playa!!.... Mike Keneally along with Dr. \//\I seem to trade turns with the Metropole Orchestra, lol, although Mikey was the first one to play with them....

Zenfish: i hear ya on Joe' own style to the bluesy side like Hendrix, etc.... The Fulltone (I personally think it doesnt sound like Jimi) allows him to get the sound he wants, but I agree in that he gives it his own touch.... Good point on Joe and SRV passing Jimi in two different ways.... Joe sounds nothing like Jimi, but used the influence to lock himself in the woodshed to create his own melodic monster.... And btw, if you get Time Machine, you will hear Joe sound exactly like Jimi on a few tunes!!.... Same exact tone and style, and it is interesting to see and hear how Joe created his own style, which is why I believe Joe can play anything.... He is scary in that way, lol....

But I hear ya about the tortured soul if Joe plays the blues.... Like the old greats have stated in the past: You cant play the blues, unless you've lived the blues, lol, great wisdom there!....

illuminata: AWESOME!!!! :-) Glad I could pass on the word, and please let us know how great the show was!! :-)

mthead101: Good to see ya, stay kuul bro!....

ALLEY, we miss you!! Hey, when you get to Rome...take it off!!!

Have fun honey!!

Hi peeps ~ happy Sunday!

Simon, just listened to Kyoto Dream. I'm not a big fan of drum machines, but I like the tune. Your playing is great, and I like the way you keep bringing those 6 key notes into it. It is kinda dreamy, so the title fits well. Good Job...now let's get some of that thrashy stuff recorded so's I can give it a listen ;-)

JS, After watching G3-Tokyo, I was amazed on the way you express your mood in "Searching" WOW! I watched the sound check, but, I didn't quite understand what you and Steve where talking about one of the pedals you both seem to use (something about feedback?) on the song Searching, I was wanting to know, what is that pedal? Octive, Harminizer, Whammy pedal?? I just have to know Brother! (plus I want one) I noticed Steve uses the same one in "Biulding The Church" it is just the sound I've been looking for in a pedal. I play a Peavey laden rack with ProFexII AddVerbII, Tube Sweetiner, Bad Horsie, 31 EQ, 900wt Carvin, and just added a line 6 DL-4 delay to all that, I would love to be able to lelevate the pitches like you did in "Searching" sorry to be so lengthy Brother! Best To You, Greg PS Thanks to your webmaster for the hard work!

Hi Ovation, Stevee T....everyone out there in Satchland,

Thanks Ovation!!! Went to the show!!...Mike is brilliant!!...Bryan was great too!! Sorry if my review is that of a novice...but it is real and true. The music was so clean, crystal clear...his ability was amazing!!....and having Bryan with him was a perfect fit. Mike is so gifted it is almost daunting for a new comer like me to watch....They both enjoyed playing together...spoke to the audience..they asked for requests...the crowd knew all his material...and they had great looking guitars lol...They have a new CD...The room (Coda) is really nice, very cozy and welcoming...the crowd, all fans of Mike...and many Zappa fans and Vai fans....in fact Mike asked who was going to the Zappa does Zappa concert this month...(Btw..I tried to get tickets but sold out)...Steve Vai will be performing too!!!!!!! That's at the Beacon in NYC...

Well...that's it...thanks all for contributing to my "education"....this is a special time in my life....("walked" away from a terrible car accident with a different "lens" on living)... this is my own personal Renaissance..learning the guitar, dancing, writing..and truly living!!.....and all of you are adding jewels to a treasure.. which is now my life...Have a magnificent Sunday!!!

Oh, and Joe...as I am listening to more and more of your music...I am just so incredibly impressed!!!!....simply stunningly beautiful...your music reaches the hearts, minds and souls of people throughout the world....you must have been touched by an angel....... illuminataxxxooo

Satriella - thanks for your words.

No, none of my family plays guitar, outside of my dad. But I'm only 34, I'm still young enough to learn! I've often thought about it, but I'm now in a "doing" phase of my life. I realise there's no time to waste, and if you feel like doing something with your life, then do it, because you never know what's around the corner.

So maybe once the Joe show has been and gone, it's something I'll work on starting. :D
