Quick question for anyone in the UK that ordered the Diamond package, or anyone else that would know:
What should we expect to receive before the show? I've got the show tickets, they came ages ago. Do we receive tickets for the backstage event, or an e-mail telling us what to do on the day? According to the e-mail I received when I ordered the packages, I would "receive tickets 14 days before the event". Well, it's now 14 days before the event, and I'm none the wiser.
Anybody else in this situation, or that knows how this all works?
Cheers. :D

PAUL- I e-mailed ETIX a couple of days ago about the same thing as you (I am going to the London gig) , they replied with this message:
"You will receive the merchandise at the show. We will send an email early
next week with meet and greet details closer to the show date.
Thanks"
So just have to wait and see for a bit longer which is a real pain as it's not clear if you need to be there really early / or if it's after the show.... you looking forward to meeting Joe then? I can't wait, have still to come up with a sensible question to ask him though... :)

Thanks for that, Suzie. As I suspect is the case with you, it wasn't the merchandise I was concerned with, rather the timing of the whole thing, and whether we had to bring anything (ticket, printed e-mail, whatever).
It looks like we'll just have to wait a bit loinger to find out the specifics. Thanks a lot for posting that. :D
EDIT: And yes, I am looking forward to meeting him, although I've met him once before, in Detroit a few years ago. I want to clear up with him that I'm not actually stupid, because I probably came across that way the first time! Obviously, my accent stood out in America, and Joe asked where I was from, and I just said, "England!". To which Joe replied, "Uhh.. yeah... which part?" and I just said "The North-East!".
I think Joe probably knows his way around England quite well by now....
Really, though, I got this package for my dad. He's a huge Joe fan, and a guitar player of more than 40 years, and it's Father's Day the day after the show. We've had a hard time, losing my youngest brother in November aged just 26, and anything I can do to help put a smile on my parents' faces, I will do it. And believe me, this will put a BIG smile on my dad's face! :D

PAUL- Somebody did say to me on here once to bring along receipts etc as well, I think if nothing else does come through will just get there v.v.v.v. early and see what they say at the desk??
The pain in the neck thing is though... June 20th is the same day as England play their 3rd World Cup Match! Sod's law.... but seeing Joe is worth a million England football games :)
I hope you and your Dad enjoy the show too! Sorry to hear about your loss though, I can't even imagine how awful that must feel and be for yourself and your parents. A very thoughtful gesture by yourself though :)

Yeah, Suzie, I think I'll take along the printed e-mail receipt, at the very least. Plus some ID, of course!
Thanks for your thoughts. It was a hard time, but we're coming along. I can't wait until I tell him what's happening... he still thinks we're just going to the show!
Unfortunate timiing for your show, with England's game being on. You'll just have to hope we've already qualified by that game! I'm alright, the biggest match I'll miss on the 17th will be Italy - USA!

Let's just hope they play like that next Saturday!
I am not having much luck with the World Cup games, next Saturday afternoon we have to play at a wedding service, (so miss the England game) then on 20th it clashes with Joe!!! Just have to hope they make it through past the group stage... :)

davealan - I have "A Friday Night in SF" by the same three. It it some awesome shred on acoustics. I have also been into Stanley Jordan since he first came out. I like both of the titles you mentioned. I even have them on vinyl!!
Chee, Little Chee - Great news!! Hope it all works out well.
Delfino - I love the Journey. I have a couple of the new DVD's. Some cheesey videos. Man the 80's were bad. Anyway, I have always been partial to Dixie Highway , and Faithfully.

civgeek.....Hey Matt yes you mentioned the one I haven't listened to yet by Stanley Jordan but I want to badly. He seemed disappear for a while but he is playing within a group now. I was lucky to see him play in NYC and also he opened for Bill Cosby early in his career. I just think someone with his talent would be a great addition to G3. He would captivate and play to a appreciative audience who may or may not have heard of him. http://www.stanleyjordan.com/ worth looking at.

The following made me chuckle....
Wife on phone to Newcastle venue to confirm no probs for children to attend. Says City Hall person 'No probs at all for children to attend but we supply earplugs to protect delicate ears'. Wife 'Oh, i'll definitely want some of those'. Son 'Aw mum, I don't want any, I won't use them!'. Wife 'Shush, they're for me not you!'.
Keep rocking everyone
Steve.

Lol- not so bad as when Matt was about 13 he had to go to watch AC-DC with his dad (who hates rock music) - and his dad sat down reading the paper all the way through... cringe
