Hi I joined a few days ago and this is my first posting. I haven't been listening to Joe for very long but what i've heard has made me sit down and think about how i've approached my guitar. Can anyone tell me what effect Joe was using that made his guitar sound like a church organ in the greeting video?

Rubina and Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness are the most beautiful songs!.....theres just SO many emotions and feelings in these songs. Same with Until We Say Goodbye, Love Thing etc..... but those 2 songs.....i think are really the most beautiful. I dont know, its to hard for me to choose that kinda thing. haha....

ZINC Master: Steven Wilde is alive and well....not well actually. Which is par for the course for Steven. I Jammed with him and recorded some more "virtual" tracks at his place recently and he is still coming up with some cool new stuff. Shredd of course. Thanks for asking. We are trying to go throught the "Best" of the stuff we've done as of late....to put on the web site. Our digital sales have blossomed this month and last. Almost 500 hits on just one song!!! "Rock me Gently," our only lullaby, has stepped out as the front runner. Kinda preachy, but fun enough from us. Check out AboveTheNumbers.com for more music from Steven and ...Me.

Ken, Stevee T, illuminata, Suzie.....

We survived, LOL!! Chris feels he did well on his speech and ended up with a B+. They liked his song :) ....even though the cd player shut off at one point and he had to start it again and fast forward....he handled the pressure well.

I had bought him dress pants, shirts, belt, tie, shoes....and he wore everything except the "stoopid tie mom", LOL.... I suppose the outfit worked wiffout it... ;)

So now we wait for final grades to see if he passed everything and can go on to graduation June 11th....keeping my fingers crossed....I need to grow my nails out again now, LOL!!

So tonight...eye yam a proud cheese! :D

random thoughts..........
A suggestion if anyone hasn't listened to an old but never dated masterpiece try Passion, Grace and Fire featuring Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, and Paco De Lucia. If you want to taken away just close your eyes.....I am sure Joe has enjoyed this one.

Another: Return To Forever's Romantic Warrior well if you don't know about it you certainly will be awakened. Check out "any" Return To Forever's release featuring Al Dimeola, Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke and Lenny White and other top players. You will enter a world of some of the greatest musicans you will ever hear.
I also just finished listening to Alex Masi's "In the Name of Beethoven". Jaw to the floor, amazing.

Also Stanley Jordan's "Standards, Vol. 1" and "Magic Touch". Truly one of the best guitarists (now on Favored Nations label) in the world with a mastering of tapping beyond all others. It boggles the mind to think he is all that you hear and he still fly's below the radar as far as popularity. I would think that it would be incredible to have him on board for G3. Talk about Diversity. And many of you have seen those blank stares in the audience at Joe's concerts well you will be guilty of that watching this man play. If you have never heard of him you have missed so much..........I had a great night of music and bs with friends. I wonder if many of you have some secret music that you feel is magic?...........I know Joe of course but beyond Saint Joe.
Just some random thoughts and BTW Kayla no problem it wasn't hard to post the truth.

civgeek, cool stuff indeed! I've often found, when talking to an american, that differences in american regional accents can be more obvious to people outside the US than they are to you natives! Not that I'm saying that's always the case though! haha.

An interesting case-point on actors who develop accents: check out the difference in James Gandolfini's voice between season one and season five of The Sopranos. It's amazing, his evolution as a character is so strong that you'd almost thing he IS Tony Soprano!

Ibanezplyr, hey that's great to hear that you and Stevie are still working on stuff together, and particularly good news that you're making sales out of it! Way to go amigo, rock on!
anyone who's going to the Bournemouth show: have you recieved your tickets yet?

Quick question for anyone in the UK that ordered the Diamond package, or anyone else that would know:

What should we expect to receive before the show? I've got the show tickets, they came ages ago. Do we receive tickets for the backstage event, or an e-mail telling us what to do on the day? According to the e-mail I received when I ordered the packages, I would "receive tickets 14 days before the event". Well, it's now 14 days before the event, and I'm none the wiser.

Anybody else in this situation, or that knows how this all works?

Cheers. :D

PAUL- I e-mailed ETIX a couple of days ago about the same thing as you (I am going to the London gig) , they replied with this message:

"You will receive the merchandise at the show. We will send an email early next week with meet and greet details closer to the show date. Thanks"

So just have to wait and see for a bit longer which is a real pain as it's not clear if you need to be there really early / or if it's after the show.... you looking forward to meeting Joe then? I can't wait, have still to come up with a sensible question to ask him though... :)

Thanks for that, Suzie. As I suspect is the case with you, it wasn't the merchandise I was concerned with, rather the timing of the whole thing, and whether we had to bring anything (ticket, printed e-mail, whatever).

It looks like we'll just have to wait a bit loinger to find out the specifics. Thanks a lot for posting that. :D

EDIT: And yes, I am looking forward to meeting him, although I've met him once before, in Detroit a few years ago. I want to clear up with him that I'm not actually stupid, because I probably came across that way the first time! Obviously, my accent stood out in America, and Joe asked where I was from, and I just said, "England!". To which Joe replied, "Uhh.. yeah... which part?" and I just said "The North-East!".

I think Joe probably knows his way around England quite well by now....

Really, though, I got this package for my dad. He's a huge Joe fan, and a guitar player of more than 40 years, and it's Father's Day the day after the show. We've had a hard time, losing my youngest brother in November aged just 26, and anything I can do to help put a smile on my parents' faces, I will do it. And believe me, this will put a BIG smile on my dad's face! :D

PAUL- Somebody did say to me on here once to bring along receipts etc as well, I think if nothing else does come through will just get there v.v.v.v. early and see what they say at the desk?? The pain in the neck thing is though... June 20th is the same day as England play their 3rd World Cup Match! Sod's law.... but seeing Joe is worth a million England football games :)

I hope you and your Dad enjoy the show too! Sorry to hear about your loss though, I can't even imagine how awful that must feel and be for yourself and your parents. A very thoughtful gesture by yourself though :)

Yeah, Suzie, I think I'll take along the printed e-mail receipt, at the very least. Plus some ID, of course!

Thanks for your thoughts. It was a hard time, but we're coming along. I can't wait until I tell him what's happening... he still thinks we're just going to the show!

Unfortunate timiing for your show, with England's game being on. You'll just have to hope we've already qualified by that game! I'm alright, the biggest match I'll miss on the 17th will be Italy - USA!
