man oh man...what a night last night...just finished watching the NBA finals, (game4) , and decided to play some basketball with some friends...got into the gym and brought my CD player with my newly mixed 'Satriani's best' CD...wow, nothing better than flying through the air and listening to the sounds of Joe Satriani...
only problem was, I was flying sooo high that when I came down my ankle went snap, crackle, pop!..aaaahhhooouucchh!!!! busted it up bad... but still had enough in the tank to finish a couple of games...Joe's music kept me going during those last games...
the next day though...
my ankle has swelled to the size of a baseball ! ! ! boy oh boy...I had to drag my lame leg into work today too! Yeah! ! ! feels sooo good! :)

Hurray! Tomorrow's the day, at Newcastle City Hall!
Anyone know what kind of ID we need for the backstage stuff? I've managed to keep this a secret from my dad up until this point, so I'd hate it to be wrecked because we get there and he hasn't got the right ID!

Will there be another G3 US tour.
I would love to see one live rather than on DVD.
I really dig the allstar jams... it reminds me of my early years and the jam sessions we used to have...(if only the tapes were not lost over the years) we did some cool stuff. I think you would have liked it.
If you ever get to Toledo Ohio look me up.... we'll have a Jam session that will make you want to come back for more!
Laterz....

Hey Joe how's it going? Hope this new phase of tour life has been treating you well! I actually had the pleasure of getting to meet you at the Skip's in Elk Grove when you came down during your Super Colossal promo meet-n-greet gig. Thanks for coming out to Sactown (home of the kick@$$ Deftones), it was a good time, and the new album is of course amazing (I think the Meaning of Love might just be my favorite song on the record, but I love em all)!
Anyways, got a few questions for you. I just watched the G3 Tokyo DVD today (great show, sorry about the mysterious hexed electro-noise, it was still great though) and I observed (as I have in the past) your wah-wah technique. I noticed that you use you left foot to step on it and lean on your right, which I thought at first was simply to prop the guitar on your leg to access the higher frets easier (much like John Petrucci does with on-stage monitors or his steel boxes that he uses in DT shows). However, I just recently watched DT's "Live at Budokan" DVD (absolutely mind-altering) and noticed that Petrucci uses his right foot to step on the wah. This amused me and led me to think "Maybe there isn't necessarily a most effective foot to wah with, just a matter of personal preference." Then I got to thinking about what may cause this preference. I know for me, I skateboard goofy foot (right forward) so I naturally attack the wah with my right. So my question (finally!) is I wondered, is your snowdoard stance regular foot? Just a curiosity I had as a guitar/ board sport enthusiast. Also, I think it would be pretty cool if perhaps you could write a piece of music that captures the feeling that you have experienced while rushing down the slopes on your board. Maybe the song could be about something as simple as just being up at those heights and breathing in the the crisp mountain air while viewing miles of white landscape. Just a thought!
Whew, sorry it was a little lengthy, but I hope it was a fun read for you and I hope you get to see this post and get back to me. Hope to hear from you soon, good luck, and best wishes with the new tour, the new album, guitar playing, your family, and pretty much life! Thanks for all you do Joe, you've inspired me; keep rockin!
Ryan

Put the tissues away..........tears won't help you see clearly thru this issue.............
ask your father if it would be acceptable to have the guitar sent to his work address
I'm a father.....and there is absolutely no way i would allow a situation to exist that could have the potential of jeopardizing any of my children!!
Its so sad that we live in a world that has us backed so far into the corner that we have to scrutinize acts of kindness.....
I love to believe in the goodness of people!!
Unfortunately.....we must keep a responsible guard knowing that what happens on a daily basis, shows us that FAITH and TRUST cannot be given BLINDLY!!!!
take deep breaths.........exhale slowly and imagine all of your
emotions about the guitar traveling out of you along with the
air leaving your lungs......inhale and tell yourself that you smell
something clean, beautiful ,and calming.......do this intentionally!!!
Once you have done this.......calmly approach your father.....thank him for caring about your safety...... tell him you love him.......don't say a word about how you can get the guitar!!!
later in your day......do the thing with breathing again
When the right moment arrives.......you'll know.......don't approach your father with a request.....wait till he's just chatting with you...or whatever comes closest......and very casually say something like......i was wondering something.......{remember....be calm}...when he asks what...{if he asks.....or the expression on his face shows that he's prepared/interested}........ask him if it would be ok to have the guitar sent to his work address..........there is probably a 90% chance you'll get your hearts desire...
Remember "little one"................there is a power greater than all of us................and it can be found within us too....but we must reach for it........btw.....i'll send you a guitar if Randell can't do this for you...............I'll address it too you by name and have it sent to the County Sheriffs office....if they agree to that......I'm sure that with the national focus on internet predators they would understand this and possibly agree!!!
remember NEVER>>>GIVE YOUR >>>>ADDRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......
Peace..................................................John
RANDELL.........your gesture is NOT under any suspicion as far as I am concerned.....I applaud you......just trying to help our darling K develop a solution that works out great for all involved........
ps...................please send her the guitar bro.......i only have one that i could give........and it has nowhere near the versatility that an Ibanez would have.....
Peace (for all)..............................................................John
