A woman runs into a clubhouse at a golf course and says that she was stung by a bee.

The golf pro asks where she was stung and she replies between the first and second hole.

The golf pro says the the first thing that she should do is narrow her stance.

'Super Size Me' Filmmaker Sizes Up Jail

The West Virginia filmmaker who chronicled his decline during a steady diet of fast food in the superpopular documentary "Super Size Me," spent 24 days behind bars for another video report and discovered, he said, that inmates are not all bad guys.

Morgan Spurlock checked into the Henrico County Jail in February and left with some shattered stereotypes.

"One of them is that you imagine jail, and prison, being filled with all these bad guys," Spurlock told the Richmond Times-Dispatch. "And I'll be the first person to say there's people that are locked up who should be locked up. But at the same time, I think there's a lot of good, honest, genuine people in there who made a mistake ... "

Spurlock's experience will air July 26 on the FX network, launching the second season of his "30 Days" documentary series.

Spurlock said he chose the suburban Richmond jail after reading an article about Sheriff Mike Wade and a drug-rehabilitation program his department started.

"Henrico is one of the few places that recognizes that just punishing somebody for being a drug offender isn't enough," Spurlock said.

An agreement was signed, and Spurlock was processed at Henrico's Jail West on Feb. 8, after he was "sentenced" to 30 days in jail for a phony contempt-of-court charge. The show's production company paid for the cost of the incarceration.

Wade said Monday that prisoners were told Spurlock was the focus of a documentary but was not identified as the filmmaker.

"He lived in a cell like everybody else," Wade said. "We treated him just like an inmate."

The county jail system includes approximately 1,200 prisoners accused of offenses ranging from drug counts to murder.

"Of course he didn't stay with any of the capital murderers," Wade said, adding, however, that Spurlock did spend 72 hours in solitary confinement.

Many of the inmates took to Spurlock, after some initial skepticism.

"There were some people here that kind of doubted his sincerity on why he was here, but he dealt with that, he got over it pretty quickly," inmate Wesley Stanbach said.

He went to church, tutored inmates, worked 15-hour shifts in the kitchen and eventually made it to the trustee dayroom.

"I think Morgan was a great guy," Stanbach said. "I consider him a friend."

Spurlock also got to know 25-year-old Michael "Travis" Ramsey of Highland Springs, who was filmed going through heroin withdrawal during Spurlock's stay. "He definitely showed concern for my well-being," said Ramsey, who shared a cell with Spurlock.

Wade said Spurlock did not "serve" his full 30 days because he was satisfied with the footage he had over 24 days.

Slanshroom- thanks for the computer warning- but it's all virus-free on my Mac... sorry you got a virus though, hope the pics didn't cause it. I think it more likely to be from a music download site, don't know... when I used to have a PC that was where the probs always seemed to start.

Cap Steve- I was in the chat last night but must have checked out before you were there... C.I. Holmes

Zenfish- lol definitely pizza for Matt... we will see you again one day!

Good Afternoon Satchland..... Simply A Gorgeous Day In Chicago. How Are you Today?

Water Proof Soap..... Some nice words about Kayla. Yeah, we're all kinda stuck on her....lol...... That was Cool of you.

OPCS470...... Nice Vid. Did your keyboardist happen to see the vid on Billy Preston sing "That's The Way God Planned It" from The Concert For Bangla Desh posted last week?...lol..... Really you all played well. That's a great song. Congrats on the Jemfest Gig.

Have A Great Day Everyone ! ! !

Edit..... Civgeek.... Flexable is one of my favorite CD's. "Call It Sleep" is unbelievable. Best song for Whammy Bar techniques ever. Plus you have a very young Stu Hamm and Chad Wakerman on there. Spectacular playing. Ohh ! ! ! Can't forget "The Attitude Song". I have that also as Guitar Player Song Page when Vai was commin' up. Remember those?

I'll tell ya ZEN there is clearly one of the true musical geniuses of our time......rest well frank.

as to the influence on steve vai...............its SO obvious and has been for those of us who have been listeners/fans of Frank Zappa......and Mr. Vai has made ample statements to that effect!!!!

While on the subject matter of genius .......just wanted to make sure and give the "NOD OF APPROVAL" to the following:

The Mahavishnu Orchestra

Return to Forever

and all the respective members of those groups who went on to create music that not only displays the virtuosity they posess as instrumentalists............but the true genius of composition and form!!!!!!

SILLY JOKE someone just sent me...

A letter was left on the dining room table. My Dear Wife,

You will surely understand that I have certain needs that your 54 year old body can no longer supply. I am very happy with you and I value you as a good wife. Therefore, after reading this letter, I hope that you will not wrongly interpret the fact that I will be spending the evening with my 18 year old secretary at the Comfort Inn Hotel. Please don't be perturbed.

I shall be back home before midnight.

When he came home, he found the following letter on the dining room table:

My Dear Husband, I received your letter and thank you for your honesty. I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that you are also 54 years old. At the same time I would like to inform you that while you read this, I will be at the Hotel Fiesta with Michael, my tennis coach who, like your secretary, is also 18 years old. As a successful businessman and with your excellent knowledge of math, you will understand that we are in the same situation, although with one small difference: 18 goes into 54 a lot more times than 54 goes into 18!

Therefore, I will not be back before lunchtime tomorrow.

right on the money with the P&W album.......Vai actually commented on becoming aquainted with re-harmonization thru his experience with FZ.....he was reffering to the "Liberty" cut off of P&W................

btw.........its really awesome to be reading posts and gaining new insights from musicians who truly appreciate geniuses rather than icons..........

one more expression of thanks:..........Rest peacefully Jaco Pastorious
