Satchiella - Tell me to mind my own business if you want but i'm only trying to help. I would guess that 369 is quite proud of Kyoto dream (he should be, it's a fine piece of work) but I get the feeling that it's more than just another tune for him. I get the vibe that there's some deeply personal stuff in there and possibly an element of catharsis and that is why Simon objects (if that is the right term) to your saying it's not 'Simonified' because it IS him and the way he was feeling.
And BTW i'll be seeing the Maestro before you!
Keep rocking
Steve.

Captain Steve, THANKYOU! It's nice to know that what I'm getting at does seem to make some sort of sense, 'cause you're right....I don't mean it like there's some sort of deep, hidden spiritual meaning to the tune, but I know when I really enjoyed recording it 'cause there was a lot of feeling and emotion going into it, and I still feel that if I practice playing it now.
It's not focused emotion about something specific and private, the tune is not about something personal, but I'm pretty sure it still has personality...my personality...in it!
Anyway, it seems that quite a lot of people basically agree so I'm happy about that! Thanks again dude, and also for saying "he should be [proud of it], it's a fine piece of work", hehe, much appreciated!
Hey 6th of the 6th....isn't it Steve Vai's birthday today? Happy birthday Stevie!
waterproof soap, there's no obligation, but you're welcome to check out the tune if you like! Feel free to let me know your thoughts (good or bad), if you do have a listen!

just checked out your tune Simon......i like the changes.....i like the synth bass lines ( i'm a bassist and usually loath that type of thing) to me it sounds like Tangerine Dream, only not as complex on the keyboard/synth side.....and of course with guitar lines that, by the way, are really executed with feeling and ability........keep it up.....all in all.......i give it a thumbs up.
If ya need a bassist to collab......gimmme a holler.......
Peace................................................John

Google to unveil spreadsheet program
SAN FRANCISCO - Google Inc. will introduce a spreadsheet program Tuesday, continuing the Internet search leader's expansion into territory long dominated by Microsoft Corp.
Although it's still considered a work in progress, Google's online spreadsheet will offer consumers and businesses a free alternative to Microsoft's Excel application — a product typically sold as part of the Office software suite that has been a steady moneymaker for years.
To avoid swamping the company's computers, Google's spreadsheet initially will be distributed to a limited audience. Google also wants more time to smooth out any possible kinks and develop more features, said Jonathan Rochelle, the product manager of the new application.
The Mountain View, Calif.-based company planned to begin accepting sign-ups for the spreadsheet at 9 a.m. EDT Tuesday through the "labs" section of its Web site. Rochelle wouldn't specify how many people will be granted access to the spreadsheet application.
Google's spreadsheet isn't as sophisticated as Excel. For instance, the Google spreadsheet won't create charts or provide a menu of controls that can be summoned by clicking on a computer mouse's right-hand button.
Rochelle said the program's main goal is to make it easier for family, friends or co-workers to gain access to the same spreadsheet from different computers at different times, enabling a group of authorized users to add and edit data without having to e-mail attachments back and forth.
"We are totally focused on the sharing aspect," he said.
Although distributing software over the Internet gives more people greater access to programs, the approach requires trusting a custodian like Google to save and protect the information from unauthorized users.
That's a leap many security-conscious companies are unwilling to make and something consumers may be reluctant to do amid rising concerns of government snooping.
The spreadsheet represents Google's latest software application to be tethered to an Internet connection instead of a single computer's hard drive. Google acquired an online word processing application called Writely in March and rolled out a calendar service a few weeks later.
All of those free programs pose a possible threat to Microsoft, which established itself as the world's largest software maker by selling its Windows operating system and complementary applications that run on the platform.
As Google invades its turf, Microsoft has been mounting its own attack by investing heavily in Internet search.
Microsoft's assault hasn't hurt Google yet, but some industry analysts believe the competitive landscape could shift early next year with the release of Vista — the long-delayed upgrade to the Windows operating system.

Heather McCartney Photos Published In Tabloid
Pornographic photos of Paul McCartney's estranged wife, Heather Mills, have surfaced in the British tabloid The Sun and on newspaper's website, http://www.thesun.co.uk
The photos were taken for a hardcore German book titled Die Freuden Der Liebe--The Joys Of Love in 1988, five years before the motorcycle accident in which Mills lost one of her legs.

The New Wal-Mart Testing Machine
One day, in line at the company cafeteria,Joe says to Mike behind him, "My elbow hurts like hell. I guess I'd better see a doctor."
"Listen, you don't have to spend that kind of money," Mike replies. "There's a diagnostic computer down at Walmart. Just give it a urine sample and the computer will tell you what's wrong and what to do about it. It takes ten seconds and costs ten dollars . . .A lot cheaper than a doctor."
So, Joe deposits a urine sample in a small jar and takes it to Walmart. He deposits ten dollars, and the computer lights up and asks for the urinesample. He pours the sample into the slot and waits. Ten seconds later, the
computer ejects a printout:
"You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water and avoid heavy activity. It will improve in two weeks. Thank you
for shopping @ Walmart."
That evening, while thinking how amazing this new technology was, Joe began wondering if the computer could be fooled. He mixed some tap water, a stool sample from his dog, urine samples from his wife and daughter, and a sperm sample for good measure.
Joe hurries back to Walmart, eager to check the results. He deposits ten dollars, pours in his concoction, and awaits the results. The computer prints the following:
1. Your tap water is too hard. Get a water
softener. (Aisle 9)
2. Your dog has ringworm. Bathe him with anti-fungal shampoo. (Aisle 7)
3. Your daughter has a cocaine habit. Get her into rehab.
4. Your wife is pregnant. Twins. They aren't yours. Get a lawyer.
5. If you don't stop playing with yourself, your elbow will never get better!
Thank you for shopping @ Walmart

Musicians - I have a question.
A number of you put links to sites where your efforts can be downloaded from for others to listen to and or comment upon.
Many of these I have really liked, others less so (no ctiticism intended, just my personal taste).
I would like to collate some of these into a file on my mp3 player under a title such as 'the Peeps at Talk to Joe'.
I don't want to create something like the T2J CD's, basically just a loose collection of tunes/songs that I like.
So my question is this:
Is this a no no, would you guys be cool with that or not?
Keep rocking everyone
Steve.

Just got done installing my new tachometer man rpm guage yeah i eneded up getting it for 30$ instead of 40 and i picked the best one went through 4 recycle bins full of em you see ,it,s rocket science man like on a ski-doo when your engine is running that how it makes the power for everything right!well most people dont know this nor do it but like me when your proted and polshed with big race craburaters that are bored out even bigger your making more horsepower which inturn means your electrial charging unit makes more power man so inturn more power runs through your light,s your tachometer everything so my factory one from 85 lasted about 7 yr,s with the factory tach in it so now i put a 89 mach i tachometer in it it,s exact same just way beter it has bigger numbers on it plus it,s desighned to have more power running through it so it should last quite a bit longer and yeah im a registered tachometer with the opp you wont see one now for a while it,s been running with the new one and when im riding there,s not suppose to be any near me man it had the same wiring code (colours) man just a differnt plugh so i had to use the plug off mine she already registered heard from them aready on the radio buddy fouck she,s nice buddy later wolf2.

Yoda - I just got some news that Envy is almost done... not long to go now....
awesome...
Suzie - we're all meeting at the Trout again....
I should still have your phone number...
I'll call..
OCPS - hmmmm there's more out there than just the Triaxis..
and be sure in your search not to discount looking into older kit like 2120, GMP-1 etc
also the GT PRO looks nice.. I goofed with one and was well impressed
even though I opted to a 2nd 2120 instead, if I couldn't get one, I was going to go for a GT PRO to become my other processor...
go try one..
Satriella - lmao... so know I know how to identify you...
"the strange girl with her arms around me"....
hmmmm..... and which one of them will you be.. lmao..
Keniko - there are a few more theory items on the site now...
over the next few months I'll be adding to them reasonably regularly..
Slansh - the stereo spread is huge yes.... my back-line is a stereo rig so I get that on stage too..
the cool part is that overdrives sound dirtier than they really are, the bass is thicker and the tops are brighter as a result of all this stereo imaging.....
it's well worth looking into..
mthead - hahaaa... very cool... I'm glad you like the site..
Delfino - although the theoretic principles are in your head... it never hurts to have reference material... I still find occasions where I have to look things up.... and that's cool... jogging the memory is much easier than learning from scratch..
