Sammy Hagar
Sammy Hagar's latest album, Livin' It Up, reportedly will be released July 25 by Rhino Records.
The Red Rocker currently is supporting the disc on a U.S. tour that, as previously reported, features a set of Van Halen songs with his former VH bandmate Michael Anthony.
In a recent interview, Hagar said he and Anthony don't think there's much chance for another full-scale Van Halen reunion, since "everything's not cool" between the pair and the Van Halen brothers.

Michelle - She went before her time at 10 but maybe there is a reason. She missed the other one so much "Lucky". I told her she would see him again. Did not know so soon.
MikeSB - They were not a problem 30 some years ago when I moved here but over time they have lost the fear of humans and the pets are an easy meal. I won't have another cat here as I can't go through this again. So sort of an end of an era as I have always had one since 1979. Sad about that too.

Hey kids,
Satriella - Thanks for the get well wishes... I'm feeling WAY better than the last time I talked to you. I'll keep an eye out for the envelope! :)
ZincMaster - Good news for Sammy, but man that sucks about VH. I love that band, but there's just a little too much drama going on there.

A friend of mine used to have a cat. Can't remember what he called it but I renamed it after stopping at his house one night. There I was, sleeping like a baby with 8 pints of Joshua Tetley's finest sloshing around inside me when the damn thing leapt from the top of the wardrobe and landed right on my head. I nearly crapped the bed thinking I was being attacked. Ever after the cat was called lard in homage to the first two words out of my mouth (cooking fat) when it happened.
Steve.

Good Morning Satchland..... What Up Everyone?
SteveeT...... Thanks so much for the comments about my son Aaron. The Kid did good..... Speaking of which......
Cheese..... I'm so happy for all of you. Definetly a mild stone graduating high school but.... a JS1200 included. Well, that's the coolest thing I've heard in a while. Like I said before. You're Chris' biggest influence. I can feel the love and it's great. Congrats to the both of you. Hugs
gottahavejoe..... I've been in the same boat you're in for over 30 yrs. No support. I say f..k them all like I've done. As far as being a young women and never being any good becuz you're a young women. F..k them again. I seem to remember great women players out there like: Bonnie Raitt, Jennifer Batten, Ana Popavich,Mimi Fox...etc. Yes, you can say it's male dominated.....So what? There's always room for talented guitarist no matter the gender or race. So shut up and play you're guitar....lol..... I'm paraphrazing and not being rude. (of coarse you knew that) Always hugs for ya sweetie.
ZZBOGMAN..... Thanks so much for you're comments and again for sighning our guest book. It really does mean alot to me. Whew ! ! ! I didn't expect that at all. Thans again.
Suzo.... Nice pics of the gang. It was great to see Zenfish and Joelle. You seldom get to see pics of the people here at T2J and it's cool to put a face with a post. You're guitars are awesome.....very nice collection. Hugs to you.
Zenfish..... Nice to see you and Joelle....I mean really see you....lol....I haven't forgotten about you're Sinphony. I've been so busy with auditions and mixing the bands I recorded. But I definetly want to be a part of your project and I thank you for your patience. Take care.
Have A Great Day Everyone ! ! !

cheese101 That's awesome! I graduate this Friday, it would be unbelievable to get a guitar or anything guitar related (amp, guitar...guitar...lol)... I doubt it though. You never know though.
Suzie2000 I actually know someone selling a new JSX, he was in an accident, so has to sell all of his gear. Which really sucks for him, I'll probably buy it off him this summer. $700, how nice is that!?

Hey joe, registered my self with your website to mention that I'm a Reception teacher (that's year 4/5 yr olds) in the UK and we always use your music to 'tidy up' to! They love it-though I do get lots of air guitar! There must be something genetic and deep grained in the human psyche to react to rock n roll that way! Love the latest album (as always!). Thanks for providing peace and harmony in my classroom (albeit with a fair ammount of freaky dancing)!

Mikesb:I,ve started work on an Alt tuning book which will highlight creativity & ridding yourself of getting stuck in a rut.
It seems to me a lot of musicians, ESPECIALLY GUITARISTS are so preoccupied with honing their technique, amp tone etc they lose their sense of self, by that I mean the enjoyment of music. After giving many lessons to students over the years, the same priority of technique etc came up with many feeling perpetually depressed because they cant obtain what their dreams demand. So what I aim t do is make the person feel in a different angle.
Let me put it this way
Q…When Frank Zappa realized he couldn’t play on guitar what was in his minds eye…What did he do?
A.He hired musicians that could
He could harness his ideas because he could read, write & score for an orchestra, which it seems is what he did his whole pro life
Trouble with most varneyesq guitarists before is they were so tunnel visioned on being the next fast gun, preoccupied with a flaw in technique & the persue t perfect it, they lost the whole concept & beauty of whats inside their very soul..my opinion, doesnt mean shit. Some say"well that’s what I feel"…I disagree & feel that competition varney bull died because it was ego based. The others copy their heros with no thought of self voice & suck the other in at the same time.I used to be one, lol.
Perfection is an illusion, only water is perfect it seems
When I changed environment & style of playing pro, man I was beating myself up, until I read this from Bruce Lee some 10 years ago
Take a cup and pour the water in…it becomes the cup
Be like water my friend
What happens if you cant become like the water then?
Simply move on,under, over, left or right till you find your place & waste no time doing it.
Maybe the technique you so crave to play, isnt really what you need at all, think about it
LEAVE THE WOODCUTTIN T ZEN , lmao

Hi Joe. I've got a bit of a tech question for you. Might be too specific but I'll throw it out there anyways. At about 2:10 into "Searching" (and again at 3:54) on "Is There Love in Space?", there is a very tripped out almost pitch shifter effect being used. Can you tell me is that a pedal, post-production effect or just some live effect tweaking (as you've mentioned comprised quite a bit of this track)? I've heard a few other guitarists use the same effect and I'm dying to know what it is.
Anyways, I'll close by saying thank you for creating some of the most intriguing and accessible instrumental rock around. For the last 12 years, it has served as encouragement to fully embrace and comprehend every technical, theoretical and emotional avenue of the guitar. It's a long journey, but I'm glad to know that your music will continue to inspire me to move forward.
Best regards,
Dave Young

I'm still about. The ass wipe know it all bully apparently !!!!
It's so hot at the moment. I love this weather walking round naked scaring the neighbours !! As World cup fever has hit the UK and God don't the media ram it down your throat here's one I've heard that may put a smile on yer face
It is just before the England v Brazil match. Ronaldinho goes into the Brazilian changing room to find all his team mates looking a bit glum.
"What's up?" he asks.
"Well, we're having trouble getting motivated for this game. We know it's important but it's only England. They're sh*te and we can't be bothered."
Ronaldinho looks at them and says, "Well, I reckon I can beat them by myself-you lads go down the pub."
So Ronaldinho goes out to play England by himself and the rest of the Brazilian team go off for a few jars. After a few pints they wonder how the game is going, so they get the landlord to put the teletext on. A big cheer goes up as the screen reads "Brazil 1 - England 0 (Ronaldinho 10 minutes)
". He is beating England all by himself! Anyway, a few pints later and the game is forgotten until someone remembers,
"It must be full time now, let's see how he got on." They put the teletext on.
"Result from the Stadium 'Brazil 1 (Ronaldinho 10 minutes) - England 1 (Owen 89 minutes)."
They can't believe it; he has single-handedly got a draw against England!! They rush back to the Stadium to congratulate Ronaldinho. They find him in the dressing room, still in his gear, sitting with his head in his hands. He refuses to look at them.
"I've let you down, I've let you down."
"Don't be daft, you got a draw against England, all by yourself. And they only scored at the very, very end!"
"No, no, I have, I've let you down...I got sent off after 12 minutes."
The media is drivin me up the wall though talk about over the top. Every other advert is World Cup orientated. Don’t get me wrong I'm patriotic and would love to see the guys win, but it's as if nothing else is happening in the world while this tournament is on. Every time as well they remind you of 1966. Cmon it's over forty years now are they still going to be banging on about it in 2066? Wots it going to be like if England do win ?
You get all this hype and England will struggle to get through to the second round having to win by so many goals and then we get knocked out in the quarter or semi finals on penalties !! Don't mean to be cynical but that is what usually happens to us. What a choice on the old goggle box though programmes about the shirts of 1966 or Big Bloomin' brother !!Don't wanna get started on that one !!!! That is with out doubt the saddest show of all time !!! The show that gave us Jade Goody and she didn't even win !
Bit of a madun !! Must be going crazy from the heat!!
SATRIELLA
NOT LONG NOW 8 DAYS AN COUNTING !! NO SLEEP TIL HAMMERSMITH !!!! WERE GONNA GIVE LONDON YET ANOTHER COAT OF RED PAINT. The last coat still isn't dry yet from last week end !!!!
KENIKO
Hope all's well !! I've got a new tune I've just done. Its Hard House and it might not be up your street but I know your gonna love the samples I picked for the tune !! I'll email it to ya later…..

Haven't posted in a while (thanks for the note, Satriella). Too much stuff going on. I finally got the chance to try out a JS1000 at a local guitar shop, and I have to say, I really don't like it much. It's just not my style. Or maybe I'm just convincing myself that I don't like it because I can't afford it :-)
Also, a while ago, on the local radio station (105.9 in Pittsburgh), the morning DJ. Alan Cox, was talking about some contest where you have to play a Dave Matthews song on guitar. He said something like, "you don't have to be Eddie Van Halen or Yngwie Malmsteen to do it". I was thinking it would be nice to give Joe some props - just then he played a bit of "Hordes of Locusts" and said, "or Joe Satriani". Pretty cool. Still though, Dave Matthews stuff isn't the easiest music in the world to play, either...

A worker goes to his lawyer to make a complaint about his work conditions affecting his health. He drives radio active waste to the ports to be dumped at sea.
" Have the company given you any protection from the materials you carry in your cargo," asks the lawyer.
"Yeah I wear a lead lined overall, the cab I drive is lined with lead the truck is lined with lead and the waste is in lead containers," replies the driver.
"Hmmmm, well it doesn't look good for your claim against radio active poisoning," the lawyer informs.
"I'm not claiming for radio active poisoning I'm claiming for lead poisoning !!"
CLARKY / 962 / KENIKO
Can't wait to meet you all next week. I'll drop you both a line later !! I'm thinking about getting a new guitar. I'm into Charvels especially the model 4s or a Jackson. Just love the necks on those instruments. I have my heart set on the old Ibanez Frank Galmbles. Remember them? The banana yellow finish. Just clocked a beautiful Jackson Robin Crosby Firebird prototype on ebay but the guy wants 2.5K for it. A bit out of my price range at the mo!!
That was a nice instrument too the Ibanez Reb Beach. What do you guys reckon to the Roland Synth Axe? I'm interested in that because I could midi it up to my computer. Have you tried one I'd be interested to know your verdict. I know you won't be at the gig Keniko me ol muka but I'd appreciate your views on any of the gear I've mentioned. Clarky what guitars did you demo at the guitar show.
OCPS
How's the new band working out ? Have you recorded any tunes yet. Send me MP3s I'd be interested in hearing you.
CAPTAIN STEVE
I don't think the Cockneys or Brummies would take kindly to that remark bud !! Any where north of the Watford gap is the third world to the Cockneys !! Did you know that the word Cockney comes from the expression a cockerel's egg!! Draw your own conclusions E BY GUM, ECCY THUMP!! You don't seem to get any pigeon fanciers in London for some reason. I think that’s a northern thing !!
Hi to all the regulars. To all those that have posted me I will get round to it when I get time. I've been really busy lately guys and I've got to play catch up with all the posts again.

Actually, while I'm at it, does anyone here know what effect was used on "Searching" on "Is There Love in Space?" I know that Joe has said that he tweaked a lot of the effects live, but there's an effect (almost like a real-time delay) at about 2:10 and again at 3:54 in the song, and I cannot figure out what it is for the life of me.
