HI guys hows it going. You are all going to see joe before me. I see him on 22nd

I am a bit worried though .

A) Whats the deal with bringing camera. I dont understand. Guys please please please let me know from your experience of joe's current uk tour if i can take a camera backstage or even ion gig .

B) I really want to get my guitar signed by joe. Does Joe sign guitar backstage. I know Joe is a really cool guy, but the letter i got from the platinum ticket people is not at all welcoming. Please let me know.

C) A few people from american gigs are saying that they never got their picture that was taken with joe from their prem package. I am worried if something like this can happen in UK tour aswell. Afterall John Iverson took control of platinum ticket holders in US as he is Doing in UK.

Njbeast - You said you talked to joe after the gig. Did you go backstage to see him or does he talk with normal audience after the show. Lol Plus how was your experience. Do get back to me

SATRIELLA and SUZIE and the REST OF YOU KIND PEOPLE....lol let me know how was your experience.

Guys the reason i am kind of worried ( ok a lot worried) is because i have spent a lot of money for the prem package for me and my friends ( lol the bast***s still haven't paid me yet ). Anyway guys I know Joe is super friendly and a real cool guy, i dont want it to be ruined by the management. I want to have a great experience and hopefully i will. Lol sorry to be paranoid i guess i want everything to be perfect.

Dear Joe, I was able to come see your show 4/19 at Tower Theater. Despite the new addition to your band(rockin' bassist Dave LaRue) you guys were phenominal! I was SO glad to hear you ply Redshift Riders, and Summer Song. I immediately bought "The Extremist" so I could jam to those trademark harmonics on S.S! You guys are great, and hopefully I'll see you soon.

Little Tim was in the garden filling in a hole when his neighbor peered over the fence.

Interested in what the cheeky-faced youngster was up to, he politely asked, "What are you up to there, Tim?"

"My goldfish died," replied Tim tearfully, without looking up, "and I've just buried him."

The neighbor was concerned, "That's an awfully big hole for a goldfish, isn't it?"

Tim patted down the last heap of earth then replied, "That's because he's inside your stupid cat."

A burglar broke into a house one night. He shined his flashlight around, looking for valuables. As he picked up a CD player to place in his sack, a strange, disembodied voice echoed from the dark saying, "Jesus is watching you."

After nearly jumping out of his skin, the thief clicked his flashlight off and froze. When he heard nothing more, after a bit he shook his head, promised himself a vacation after the next big score, then clicked the light back on and began searching for more valuables. Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard, "Jesus is watching you."

Freaked out, he shined his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice. Finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot. "Did you say that?" He hissed at the parrot.

"Yep," the parrot confessed, then squawked, "I am just trying to warn you."

The burglar relaxed. "Warn me huh? Who the hell are you?"

"Moses," replied the bird.

"Moses?" the burglar laughed. "What kind of stupid people would name a parrot Moses?"

The bird promptly answered, "Probably the same kind of people that would name a Rottweiler Jesus..."

kangaroo kept getting out of his enclosure at the zoo.

After recapturing the kangaroo, the zookeeper put up a ten-foot fence. Again the kangaroo was out the next morning, roaming around the zoo. So the fence was extended to twenty feet. But again the kangaroo was out the next morning.

Frustrated zoo officials built a fence forty feet high.

A camel in the next enclosure asked the kangaroo, "How much higher do you think they'll go?"

The kangaroo said, "About a thousand feet I guess -- unless somebody starts locking the gate!"

SteveeT - You must have enough to do another album now....winter migration was great....you can hear the wings flapping but at the same time you can see the birds soaring...great piece of work!

ome - revenge of lunatic mystery (very joe)
tomcat surprising taking you off in places you didn’t expect
Drysands very deep, yep got that Arabian vibe very subtle
groove not what I expected!

Walking through windows – hmm strange indeed!…I think I would have called it mirror maze
Mood light love it
Before midnight love it too
Midnight – too jazzy for me

Got a bit lost after that as I was concentrating on doing something!

All in all great stuff!

the_beatrix_kiddo - I rang the Apollo the other day and they said to ring back on the day with regard to cameras coz they have to check with the artist! Also I wouldn't worry about what people say about not getting their stuff...you know what it's like when you are waiting for something it feels like longer than it is....they are just impatient that's all.

A mangy looking guy goes into a restaurant and orders a hamburger. The waiter shakes his head and says, "No way. I don't think you can pay for it."

The guy says, "You're right. I don't have any money, but if I show you something you have never seen before, will you give me the food?"

"Deal!"

The guy reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out a hamster and puts it on the counter. The hamster runs to the end of the counter, across the room, and up the piano. He jumps on the keyboard and starts playing Gershwin tunes.

The waiter says, "Wow, you're right. I've never seen anything like that before. That hamster is a really good piano player."

He brings the man a hamburger, which he promptly eats and asks for another.

"Money or another miracle," says the waiter.

The guy reaches into his coat again and pulls out a frog. He puts the frog on the counter, and the frog starts to sing. He has a marvelous voice and great pitch. A fine singer. A stranger from the other end of the counter runs over to the guy and offers him $300 for the frog.

The guy says, "It's a deal." He takes the money. The stranger takes the frog and runs out of the restaurant.

The waiter says. "Are you crazy? You sold a singing frog for $300? It must have been worth millions."

"Nah," says the guy. "The hamster is also a ventriloquist."

telling jokes to pass the time....

TWO DAYS TO GO!!!!!!

GROWLER

178 posts total | IP Logged

Man, it has been along time since I have posted. Read a few of the latest, but have no idea about the past. Been busy. CRO, you can now call me Dr. Growler as I have completed my Ph.D. Still will remain unemployed though. I enjoy playing the bass much more than working.

SLANSHROOM Really enjoyed the SRV/Healey link buddy. It looked to me that Stevie was more than surprised when Healey jumped out of his seat and nearly hit him in the groin! That was a mean jam, but nobody outplays SRV period boys. Even when he was blown out on coke, he still kicked ass! Aint nobody displays the POWER, quickness yes, POWER no. SLANSHROOM, you may want to make an analogy here. Have you heard or witnessed the Bruce Lee 1" punch? There is a video of it as BL demonstrates to the top masters of world martial arts, at that time, as he draws an inch from the stomach of the opposition and delivers a blow that sends the dude about 15 feet into cardboard and cushion. This comes from the origins of Wing Chun. POWER, my friend. Not that JH cant rip. It was an awesome video S thanks.

Just got done watching the new HENDRIX 2 CD SET at Woodstock. Much better quality on the first cd than previously released. Picked it up for 10 bucks, how can you afford not to but it? It is always great to see the best every so often. Almost every guitarist worth a damn holds Jimi in the highest regard. Joe being one of them, of course. How may G3s are loaded with Hendrix material? Answer: All. How much of Joe's original works include Hendrix licks? Again: All.

I remember seeing Hendrix live here in Hawaii in 1969. Never seen anything like it since. Pick up the cds. Love the reverse hand snake slides on Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) and on a couple of other attacks. As a bassist Hendrix gives you ALOT of freedom. Just lay down the chords and fly. I have learned one important thing about repeatedly watching and listening to Billy Cox. Bass players do not need more than a 4 string bass. This 5 and 6 string bass thing is b.s. Here we have the greatest guitarist ever and does he require a 5 or 6 string bass? No. Billy Cox rips! Dont spend needless cash on something to impress. Cox is cool. Even around Mitch Mitchell who goes nuts trying to keep up with Hendrix. The guy is a puddle of sweat after half the jam! Could Jimi play with a better drummer. No way! Jimi is bad, bad, bad to the bone. Just ask Joe. I wish alot of you younger guys and girls could have seen him live.

Anyway, ANTON SHRED if your still out there. You know 4th of July is getting here fast. Ask your wife what its like here. It is nuts! The last 4 years I have had a jam here with 4 bands that starts about 8pm and ends at 2am. Thats when all the fireworks are going off. Its like WW3. So we stack the amps and make a block party. 1 metal band, 1 hawaiian, 1 rock, and 1 blues/funk. We then have a jam at the end when we all rotate and play with each others bands. Good fun, bruddah! By 9pm everybody is here! No more fireworks. Our set list is partially off the last G3 with a medley of JS shorts Up in Flames, War, then Searching which then turns into who else Hendrix when Joe slides in Machine Gun with Matt B. then on to Ezy Rider, Purple Haze, Voodoo Chile, Hey Joe Satch, and then an original Gas Chambers. If your wife knows Sandy Beach well she will know Gas Chambers as the most dangerous surf spot this side of the island. Its a surf tune much like SRVs Pipeline only more bluesy. Thats it!

Suzie 2000 / Glad ..... We where not allowed to take pic's during sound Check or on the stage area. we where told we could take as many as we wanted during the show. I dont think anybody asked about afterwards as we where all getting pic taken with him as part of the package.... Jon would take 2/3 pic's and you have a link sent to you in about 10 days when he has uploaded them and you can down load them all from there......... Hope that helps.....

It will be a night you will Never Forget. I just wish I would have had the transport to do it all again.

Stay Safe. Dave

P.S just a waring to the guys / girls that may be taking guitars down........ I phoned the Apollo and the guy there said I could store it there through the show......But when we got there they said they had no where to put them.......So they had to take them out and leave them in there car's until after..... they where allowd to go and get them but it was a lot of messing about

Hi Guys,

Just recovering from an amazing audience with Joe last night in Newcastle. Joe and crew were just awesome. Managed to get front row seats and some great photographs. My son was open mouthed throughout especially when Joe knelt down right in front of him after a particularly tasty lick and shouted yeah baby!. He went away with a pick and JC stick so he was well happy.

A big thanks to Joe, Jeff, Dave and Galen for a truly memorable night. You never cease to amaze me!

Fish - thanks for the invite on Tuesday, I will try and make it to the pre-meet work permitting.
