the_beatrix_kiddo, JohnnyB, hmmm, if the e-mail you got specifically says don't take cameras then I probably wouldn't. Normally I would say it's fine to take a compact camera along, even a decent compact digital with zoom functions and video capture, as long as you hide in a pocket in your jacket!
Usually you won't get asked and certainly wn't get searched unless the show is being filmed. The first of Steve Vai's Aching Hunger shows that I went to in Holland I took my digital compact to and took a load of photos. It's hard to take decent photos in concert lighting with a general purpose compact, which I guess is why nobody gave 2 sh*ts that half the audience had cameras out.
The second Aching Hunger show that I went to I didn't take my camera, and it's a good thing because, as the show was being filmed for DVD, everybody was frisked (searched) on the way in.
But yeah, anyway, if you've had an e-mail saying you must not take cameras or backpacks then don't. Take a camera phone instead, if you have one!
I know it may seem harsh that you've spent so much money and you can't take a photo, but remember what you're there for and enjoy it.....after your platinum ticket experience you really won't be too bothered that you couldn't take your own photos. And you'll get your mugshot taken with Joe anyway, and it'll be done by a pro!
Have fun!

Proud to be British?
Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.
And the most British thing of all? Suspicion of anything foreign.
Oh and......
Only in Britain... can a pizza get to your house faster than an
ambulance.
Only in Britain... do supermarkets make sick people walk all the way to the back of the shop to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.
Only in Britain... do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries and a DIET coke.
Only in Britain... do banks leave both doors open and chain the pens to the counters.
Only in Britain... do we leave cars worth thousands of pounds on the drive and lock our junk and cheap lawn mower in the garage.
Only in Britain... do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place.
Only in Britain... are there disabled parking places in front of a
skating rink.
well I thought it was funny...

the_beatrix_kiddo There is a place with pics on here already. 'Road' - 'archive' and just go through the tours and shows, they usually have pics of the aftershow pass winners for each show... not everybody that posts is lucky enough to win a pass, or as lucky as some who get it without really doing anything at all.
Suzie2000 You got it.
