Just got back from Bournemouth after National Delegates Conference and from the second Satriani show within the week. I delayed my trip to see him in Manchester and also had the luck to get hold of a ticket for Wednesdays show too!
Had the lovely pleasure of meeting Joe in person and I would like to thank him for signing my ticket and for being as pleasant as possible albeit a little quiet, at gone 12.30 am Thursday morning when quite a few of us decided to wait by the stage door but I'm not at my best that time of the morning either.
I would also like to say hi to Davina who I also met!
Johnny A and the rest of his band were also very sweet and their talent as the opening act would warrant the £25 ticket themselves!
Once again a big thanks to Joe and would like to ask if you have any plans to visit the UK again this year and when we can expect the next G3 concert.
I hope to meet you again soon ata more social hour.
Thanks

SATRIELLA...
have sent you this email.....
Hi Satriella
! I am completely besotted with Joe's music too, I think you were sitting about 6 rows in front of me & hubby in London, we were on the right , at the end of row too in the aisle R31 & R32. I can't say too much on Joe's site , as my hubby thinks I'm nuts! He loves Joe too, but gets sick of me talking about him all the time...well he loves football, and I looooove Joe so much.....
I would have loved to meet up with everyone, but not to be! I thought you might have jumped on Joe's bus to go to Bournemouth on Wed......

mikesb..... Thanks for the vid. It's just as powerful as the record. It sounds like a band of 50 musicians are up there. Do you know what Carlos Rios has been doing lately? I haven't checked what SteveeT found. Just curious. Thanks again.
Enjoy yourself Al. Congrats. That's really cool.

mikesb: Awesome man! I've always thought blues's tone was THE tone. It's my idea of great tone, fluid defined bridge distortion with neck tonal qualities. It's similar to what Andy Timmons is getting out of his Lone Star (Mesa) rig, and similar to what the JSX crunch channel can sound like, but man, I wish his dad would mass produce those Dirty Boy amps that he builds just for blues....they seem to get every tone possible and make it sound amazing.

SLANSH AND MIKE SB You guys are killing me with these video links! The "chi" is pretty amazing huh? The dude in the first video with the dual safety chuks definitely didnt have the "chi" working. I think he would do better dragging the tree stump with his balls! That guy was funny, especially when his wife came into the picture. This is the type of stuff you dont do around the wife.
There was a little bit of everything in all those links. The Jackie Chan guys were great as well as the finger stand. Unreal! One of my sifu's Cheuk would sit in a cross leg position on the floor with ink on his feet, spring up, kick the ceiling and come down. Prints on the ceiling. He was 60. What is up with these guys?
The Wing Chun/ Jeet Kun Do videos were interesting. Did you see the WC dummy in the backround? Expensive, but easy to make. Great for training!
These Shaolin and Taoist priests are not unbeatable, however. Actual fight situations prove to be a whole new story. As I mentioned before, I fight full contact about every other weekend in a small dojo. It is more like a wrestling room. You guys know what I mean as you have taken the arts in one form or another. We are broken down into age and weight class which really doesnt mean much. Rules familiar to UFC and Pride are observed. Many schools and individuals turn out so you only have one fight, if that. I have found that strict Chinese and Japanese stand up is sufficient. But the samurai mentality is hard to change. Once you pass the strike zone to take down you pretty much have it in the bag. Most are easily submitted. Some, mostly Kung Fu masters are able to counter choke holds with practice. I dont f..k with chokes on these guys. A simple kimura or arm bar usually will get the job done. At times you must actually break or dislocate the arm as they are very hesitant to tap out. Do not ever stand up with these guys! I'll throw a bat kick or 2 to break em down but thats it.
In a street fight one on one I always think eyes eyes eyes then groin and finally look for a leg bar and break it as you dont want any pursuit. Aint fighting grand! Its hell when you go down though. But I wont go into that.
Loved the links, I wish I had some to post, but I'm a real loser when it comes to computers. I admire all you guys who are keeping the spirit alive and well. To you who practice the arts, we all know one art is never better than another. You really never really know whats going to happen, and thats exciting! I wholeheartedly agree with Waterproof soap. This site is great and supportive. Take care you guys, peace to all and to all a good night. G.

Mikeb...
I've played that Godin that Steve Stevens was playing in that vid... it weighs a ton... It's about as heavy as your average Les Paul... it sounds great... but it's basically a solid body classical guitar... I love the classical sound but I love the fact that it is a light weight acoustic...
I've been really eye balling classicals today... I love the look and vibe that a Breedlove has... problem is the price with me...
GAWD I WANNA BREEDLOVE!!!
Peace
Bear
