Captain Steve:Heres a lil info for y.Sassenach is what my people get called by the Northern Scots even now, it means-Saxon; Englishman; Lowland Scottish.

If i tell even now a highland person where in Scotland i was born..which was Dumfriesshire the air goes cold & the bar goes quiet North!

Why...because it was the lowland chiefs that put into action W.W fate. They decided money & land was worth more.Incredible even now i,m not classed as a true Scot.

My Scots blood line is clan MacLean my mothers side Northern scot, lmao which is pure scot!

My fathers clan is both Fergeson & Marchbank Fergeson goes way back to The Viking invasion

Marchbank goes all the way back to Robert the Bruce & the Knights Templar...Not sure if thats good or bad?

My only English line is my grandmothers family Harrison, I,m still looking into it, my grandmother talked of her grandfather being a bit of a wild man.I,ll have t check with my ma if I get this right or not maybe this is right i dont know

I do know i,m a madman however & love tae get messed up from time t time, not that you would ever have guessed, lmao

I don't mean to be funny but you're a whole lot lighter and friendlier these days than when I first came here. I hope something good's been happening for ya.

Keep rocking and stay away from walls

GottahaveJoe: Be sure to loosen the string locks when you try to restring the axe I sent you. It'll make it much eazier to tighten the strings. Don't lock it back down untill you get it in tune. Keep in mine you can pull up quite far because the body is vacant behind the trem. Check out Reb Beach at the guitar sucks vids on google. It's one of his best songs! When removing the strings...loosen the smallest strings first, and install from the biggest srtings first. Look close how they are put on. Putting them on that way will save you cutting off the ball ends...and your strings will last 1/3 longer!!! Enjoy Satchgirl !!! KTF Randell

I am looking forward to your gig in Copenhagen. And this time you are taking Adran Legg with you, like my 2nd concert. You didn't come to Norway, so we are going to the gig in Denmark. I've seen you 3 times in Oslo solo and G3 once with my girlfriend. This time her son is going with us. Anyway he couldn't have been to the show in Oslo, because he is 15. Almost everywhere in Norway you have to be 18 to enjoy your guitar live. This will be the time of our lives. Please come back to Norway. Take Steve Vai with you in a G3 gig. We really love him too. I've been a fan of yours since I saw the music video Big Bad Moon.

Satriella- how did you get your backstage pass? We spent a fortune on plat tickets, looks like we needn't have bothered to as so many people seemed to get passes... I have to wait 2 weeks to get a photo, you were allowed to take as many as you like and then meet the band too... ???

Cap Steve- no probs :)

Hey Joe thanks for a brilliant night in Birmingham on monday, It really is amazing seeing you live and it really does make you appreciate your music so much more seeing it played in its raw form. Myself and Alex thank you again for signing our junk for us. Much appreciated. Me and Alex where over whelmed with the conversation you had with us about Hendrix and your as alex would say: Joes magic hendrix pedal. Lmfao. Thank You Again. Jamie Blues. Anyone know if an original floyd rose will fit a JS1200? If i cant find replacement saddles that is for the edge pro. Thanks. mrbluesclues@hotmail.com

Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness has this unbelievable guitar solo at about a minute and thirty eight seconds into the song and lasts thirty seven seconds...I wish it went on forever...it's such a beautiful part in the song...and at the end of the song it sounds like bagpipes and marching drums...love that part...always reminds me of Scotland and Braveheart...
''Sons of Scotland...I am William Wallace...
What will you do without freedom!?...Will you fight!?''...

Joe Satriani has many amazing solos...certain parts of certain songs have a great affect on me, it takes me away to another place and time...thank you Joe... .. .

OME...

Yep, Jeff's Canadian all the way... he doesn't do a whole lot of touring anymore but owns a Nightclub for live music called "Jeff Healey's" of course... Steve Vai has been a guest there once or twice... Jeff plays there all the time... and it's an open jam setting... if you wanna go up and perform, it can be arranged... and Jeff usually runs the show...

Hi Satriella - thanks for inadvertently answering my post with your great story ("he injured himself playing with his kid..") - the limp seemed to be gone tonight, which is cool.

Just got back from Cardiff. Got last minute tickets this morning (although pushing it a bit having gone to bed at 4am, then up at 7 for work), which is kinda greedy considering I saw and met the maestro in B'mouth yesterday.

Anyway, you all know how addictive this can be!

So a great show with a magical performance and I think improved sound over yesterday. Couple of stand out moments:

1. Hopeless (drunk?) air guitar guy crowding Joe during the MPHGT arpeggio, who was eventually removed

2. The Chicken putting in an appearance and inspiring Galen to sing kill the chicken(?) as part of crowd chant, amidst bursts of laughter as Jeff managed to rhythm "wind" the chicken into the mic....

3. The crowd getting up and staying up, albeit only for the encore tracks. I think (hope) the band really dug that

4. And..... a VERY jazz moment on the ascending scale in verse 2 of Always. Me thinks that just went into the wrong key right Sir Joe? And that's what the little grin was all about? Maybe someone else who hit Cardiff will tell me if I dreamt that.

HERE's the killer though.... whilst my parents hung out with Joe I was asleep - D O H !! Will anyone here forgive me????

After the show I did the usual of hanging around and as my parents are such big fans they came too. Security started getting a little anal with "don't go any further and we won't have a problem" - at a point when I was about (not kidding) 200yds from the stage door!! followed about 2 minutes later with "the crew have confirmed Mr Satriani has left".

Sorry matey - he was Platinuming it with the lucky few who'd signed up for that - so less of the power trip please. By this time my father had SAS'd his way to the stage door, and my mum seemed to have glue on her shoes after hearing the scary mans voice.

Knowing that it would be at least an hour, and how I nearly froze to death yesterday, I went back to the car to catch a catnap - BUT not even super colossal (my Pa on mobile with a "get your arse in gear" message) was enought to wake the kip that ensued.... SORRY Joe, wasn't being rude : ) You know how I like to catch 5 minutes here and there with you.

End result is Joe chatting and signing with my parents for 10 minutes and me catching Z's oblivious to the whole thing!!

Thanks again Joe for being such a gentleman, especially at the end of a long day, and adding some extra magic to the night for a couple of fans. Oh, and 24hrs later my little boy can't get over the fuss you guys made of him yesterday and how he met his fave 2 musicians in the universe! You are too kind by far Sir!

Take care Joe and crew, and have a good rest of the tour. Can we have some more road photos and perhaps some comments in T2J from you please?

G'night fellow T2J'ers - it's 3.30am and at any minute my head may hit the keyboard for some random messaging!

SLANSHROOM Impressive website dude. This is kind of a strange remark but its peaceful. Dont ask me why, but thats the feeling I get. Like all the cd cuts and find them original and CLEAN. Shows me your a perfectionist. Will pick up the cd no doubt. Good title that reminds me of a road that my wife and I almost crashed on while having the time of our lives on the Big Island, Hawaii. Its a shortcut from Kona to Hilo called Saddle Road. I found out later in my rental car contract that it was illegal to drive the road due to the number of fatalities, which is evident by the amount of memorials along the side of the road which is all sharp lava rock. Could of used your cd at that time to mellow me out as I was being tailed by a Camaro. Nice link to Phillip Sayce.

MIKE SB Didnt know about JH and the cancer condition. You would never know it either by the way he seems to enjoy life. Very special man. Great also to hear about his own club in Canada. Would it be cool to jam there or what? I'll be sure to bring my ball bra. Thank God for that thing slansh. Did you know my dogs are pit bulls?

Well gentlemen, gots to be going. The lawn needs water. G. OUT............

Hi Mr. Satriani, how are you doing? I wish you were here still touring. =(. Anyway I was wondering do you have a song, with lyrics, that you wanted to write and play because it meant somehting to you? I am doing this project for school and I wanted to play your songs but it has to be a song that you wrote it because it meant somethign to you. Can you please email me at Shabdeezjelvani@hotmail.com and tell me if you have any songs with lyrics that means something to you? like why did you write it? What is the song about? Who is the song for or speaking to? And when was this and how did it effect you? I actually don't know much about you, so this would be so awsome if you or one of your asistant manager or something would be kind enough in telling me some things about you. I have like never seen your wife or children. I don't even know what school you went to and who taught you how to play. But I think you have taught Kirk Hammet and Steve Via... or was it Steve Ray Van? Anyway it would be so cool if you can atleast give me a website or book that tells about you! Thank you for spending your valuable time reading this post. If I get no answers or anythign I respect that as well and you have a good night. US, CA, Westlake Village.

Hi there

New poster here.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to see Joe in the UK this time round, but my band mate in Vivify was able. The wife picked a really inappropriate time to be pregnant!! :)

Brilliant show in the UK this year by all accounts.

Clarky has been telling us all about his meet n greet with Joe over on the intermusic forums (UK Guitarist mag). Amazing for Clarky that Joe had heard his playing!!!

Anyway - this seems to be a very cool place.

Hope you don't mind posts from a bassist!!!
