was flipping through channels and saw E! true hollywood story on rod stewart so i watched it for a few seconds to see if they would mention jeff beck.... they did, for 5 seconds, some shit face from rolling stone mag said that he didn't know how the two shared the same stage together with their egos.... news to me, jeff always seemed like a cool calm humble guy.... yet another reason to hate rolling stone, as if there wasn't enough already....

SRV Thanks for the info on the Trower posters. Sorry you cant make it to another concert but 5 hours is one long drive. Sounds like there are alot of others to go to where your at.

SLANSHROOM In prayer for your dad buddy. Sometimes its harder on the family than it is on dad. Just want to give you a little comforting info. What your dealing with with your dad is in my field. Even though I dont practice orthopaedics anymore, I do miss it. When I did practice it mostly involved pre and post op lower back injury. The good news is that most ortho or neuro surgeons are EXCELLENT with what we call internal fixation or fusing of the vertebrae. It seems over time, along with bodyweight, genetics and activity the discs degenerate. Its happening to all of us. Some quicker than others, especially if there is some trauma associated with the condition. Anyway, degeneration at multiple levels is a problem, but one that can be overcome. Now that he is out of surgery you will be able to get a better idea of his prognosis. In most cases the surgery will need time to heal and stabilize. It is truely amazing what great outcomes happen post surgery. Some return painfree and have the ability to function great, which is what we are praying for. Others take a little time and have some limitations that need to be rehabilitated. Of course, you can expect limitations in mobility, but at the lumbar level we are talking degrees. From T12,L1 to L5,S1 which is the multilevel DDD there is limited motion. Neurologically speaking the docs have to TELL you about bladder and bowel dysfunction, but it rarely, if ever happens, unless there is an initial trauma. Like why I play the bass instead of the lead guitar. Can you believe I was knifed in my left thumb and bit by a human in my right thumb? Thats another story.

Man, I can be long winded! Hey, your the one with the great sense of humor and positive attitude buddy. You cheer me up every time I read your posts. Seems like your dad is in good company. Walk by faith, not by sight. You got some good people praying and supporting you and your dad. Hang tough dude. G........................................

Kenico:Tough question, tougher decision.I was in the same position for just under 15 years, but i did,nt have choices, i had t do the work to pay the rent & eat. It’s the reason I started labour work again, so I could focus on the way I wanted to play.

Theres fors & against on both sides, but ultimately I,d be echoing OCPS post. The good points are learning music that does nothing for you, can at times be enlightening & give you more ideas to bring to the table when writing your own music.I guess it really boils down to how you can multi-task & manage your time as to not interfere with your own dreams.Either way you have to make money

Whatever you decide, there is only one way you,ll know if it’s the right or wrong move, sooner you act on it, sooner y know, best of luck bro

Mikesb;bahduh,marimari,Stevee T,GROWLER,Satriella & anyone I,ve missed

Thanks for the concern guys.Yesterday was hell for me here, pacing the floor like a man possessed waiting for news, however my da so far is doing well.I was,nt sure how much the operation was a success as he was still morphined out when my mum visited yesterday morn but later received a call telling me all is ok, well I don’t want to tempt fate so I,ll end there cause hes still not totally in the clear, I can be sure in around 2 months time

Marimari:Y,ll be telling me you were screaming Hallelujah next but not in church, lmao.No cast, I ripped it off, nearly all healed up now.I fractured the bone in my right hand from punching a wall a month ago, I fell asleep in the metro, someone robbed my stuff while asleep & I lost the plot when I realized what happened, great laugh, lol anyway all is well again for now

Dear Joe Satriani,

I hope this message would reach your heart. Joe "The Extremist" Satriani, I've been a fan of you since 2000. I love all your songs and albums especially the "Is there love in space?" album. I hope I could reach you here eventhough I live in Asia (Philippines). When will you release the "Super Colossal" album here in Asia?? You've been a great inspiration not only to Americans but to all musician all over the world especially here in the Philippines. You know Joe, I also play in a band and I practice most of your songs, but there's a little problem that I hope you could help me with. I don't have enough money to buy myself a good guitar and stuffs like effects pedals but I do have an old amplifier which I bought for only 2000 pesos which is only $35 in US. I wish I could have at least an ordinary electric guitar and some pedals such as delay and the wahwah which I could use. I hope I could have some of your old guitars or those worn out guitars you use on tour that you don't use anymore because I don't have the money to buy myself an electric guitar, I only have an old acoustic guitar. Here is my mailing address in the Philippines (#16 Pantabangan Street NAPOCOR Village Pasong Tamo Tandang Sora Quezon City Philippines 1107). May God give you the blessings you deserve for helping me and inspiring all guitar players all over the world with your great music! Good Luck and More Power to you and your Band (Jeff, Mike, Eric, Dave, Galen, Mick, Jon, Stu and The Crew) Thank You very much Joe Thank You Thank You Thank You..

Sincerely yours,

Ralph Leo S. Lofranco (Butoy)

I would like to do that but I'm so arse backwards right now with bills that I need to put them first and get them payed off or I will never climb out of the hole I'm in.

Kimber is her name. My wife liked the name Kimberly, but all Kimberly's end up with the nickname Kim, which I hate, so I figured if we dropped the "LY" off of the name it would keep her from being called Kim,

So "Kimber" it is.

I'm glad you like it, not alot of people do, but it's growing on people.

bahduh: bro, I finally got a chance to mail ya back, lol, and I feel your ref pain, lol, haha!!.... This is going to turn out to be one of the best World Cups to remember in a loooong time!!.... Brazil will go down (after they beat France, lol, IMO), but I will not give a final prediction till the next matches.... Stay kuul bro, and btw.... Brazil can raise the level of a game within seconds.... Best quote I've heard all tournament, lol!!....

slanshroom: haha bro, I hear ya on the Shaolin Monks and people like Stanley Jordan and Frank Gambale making you feel like a spectator, lol!!.... Thats what years of nothing but each particular art locked in a shed will do to you, haha.... Bastards, lol, I was chasing girls at that time!.... Btw, ROTFLMAO at the rocking monks, haha, and also for the blast from the past Roadrunner!.... I lived on that on Saturday mornin' cartoons when I was a yungin' ;-) And btw again, good vibes for your Dad bro!....

Guitarmiester: Hell yeah on Marty bro, but I still have'nt got his last one Music For Speeding yet, lol, I need too from what I've heard!.... And in my next post, I will scare everyone with Pablo info, lol!!....

Clarky: I'll keep my stuff crossed too, lol, and I'll hold the fort down for ya!.... I know the logistics of a tour can be overwhelming, but if anyone can take care of a host, it is the Japanese, lol, stay lucky bro, and AWESOME AXE btw!!....

alexandrecaetano: Right on my friend, lol, when I was a kid I used to pretend I was Bruce Lee, lol, he was my hero!!.... What a kuul cat, and on to soccer.... Like you said, Portugal has a large mind, and not only that, they have a great tradition, as does England.... Portugal has impressed me so far, and I have not been by England yet.... May the best team win, and have a wonderful World Cup weekend my friend, respect right back at ya! :-)

marimariSRV: Thats the spirit girl, glad to hear the tour is on schedule! :-)

thatChristian: The Bible says "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord". Man, Joe, I don't think I"ve ever heard more joyful "noise"! l love your music!.... Amen brotha!! :-)

....Hope you guys and gals (michelle/mari and the rest) in PA are hanging in there!!!!.... Please stay safe!....

Pablo Gilberto has finished his Instrumental album and is delivering it in August!!.... Look at the cover and you'll see his PGM700 replaces a shotgun, lol, and the best part is.... The first 38 seconds of GET OUT OF MY YARD are impossible to play. But I played them. And you can listen. Get ready, and... Bring it on Pablo!!....

....Love the titles, especially Three E's for Edward.... You know he's talking bout' Eddie!!!!....

Guitarmiester - Hi,I am a Marty Friedman fan too.Satch is no 1and Marty is no 2 for me.I have his 4 albums.Dragon's kiss, scenes, introduction, true obsessions.Introduction and scenes sound like new age more than rock but they are awesome.Does he have another solo albums except these 4 albums?

Satriella - Hi,how are u?Your dream came true ,now what is your new dream? To see Joe again?..or?....

Bahduh - Ooh Brasil ,Brasil...Ronaldinho and Kaka should help to team defensing.Zeroberto and Emerson are all alone. The rival teams past quickly the midfield of brasil. And this time the oppenent rival wont be ghana.Brasil might be willing this time cuz they want to take revenge of 1998 final. My first final candidate team is England. England will beat Brasil-France winner....On the other hand....There is an interesting point at Argentina's formation.Mascherano and cambiasso the defensive players ,maxi rodriguez on the right or left wing and riquelme the free player. If rodriguez plays at the right wing wont be more space at the left wing of argentina?..Honestly there is only 1 team which played good football and deserved to be champion so far.It is Germany.Germany is my other final candidate team..England vs Germany like 1966.And this time Germany.I have always been a little cold to germany but this time they play offensive football.. Before the tournament began my fav team was england. But they sucked so far that's why germany looks favourite to me.But if england shows their real power, quality on the quarter and semi finals then my champion is england
