Let me explain one thing: I like the english a lot! I've worked with lots of different nationalities during the last six years and I really like the english I've worked with. They've got a great mentality! But this past match has shown me one thing that I've never realized before: english can't stand loosing! They prefer to think someone has pull the rug on them (even if there was no rug) than realizing they just felt...

Portuguese might have lots of flaws, but we know when to admit others were better. In football terms, we're better than the english and worse than the french. We always beat England and the french always beat us! I only hope this last part will eventually change! :)))

Sorry about the disagrement, but after losing to a team that did nothing except managing a penalty kick that was offered and almost defended, I think the english could learn a lot about managing defeat... And stop blaming Ronaldo and look at the real causes: lack of quality, inspiration and most of all: nerve condition!

Talking about bad sportmanship, what about that guy that tried to kick the penalty in advance to pressure Ricardo? Did you like the way Ricardo didn't even move? That's nerve condition (from Ricardo) and bad sportmanship (from the english) But even that sort of backfired on him, so...

Well. To your first point, no, but Ronaldo had no place being involved talking to the ref, should have been sent away, and wasn't. Rooney had already been fouled previously. But you don't see that the same way, all you see was that Rooney stepped on someone's groin, then pushed Ronaldo. For me, it was not that straightforward.

As to your second point: We in England saw the wink and the "shush" as a thumbs up for a job well done, as I said he had head butted Rooney just before the game and he knows how to wind up Rooney. Rooney should not have reacted, but Ronaldo shouldn't have done it. I don't think that your team were "better" than us last week, we played with 10 men also for an hour, and there were still no goals. You only beat us in the end for one reason: that we are crap at penalties. That it was Ronaldo who took the final one summed up the game for me.

And against Holland- 7 players booked, 2 of whom were also sent off... You see the entire thing the opposite way but that's only natural.

Anyway, you are entitled to your opinion, as am I, perhaps best to leave it at that and just not speak.

I think that Live in San Fran. is the best concert DVD to date. Joe was really in the zone. The whole band was in the zone. I love Stu's rendition of Lovething. Why doesn't Eric tour with Joe anymore?

Canchito- it was a shame in one way that Eric didn't do the UK leg of Joe's tour... but not in another as we LOVED Johnny A. He rocks! :)

Suzie, very well said (written!) I agree with you: you're seeing it from your perspective and I see mine... I'm just sad everyone's attacking Ronaldo. I don't think he deserves it, he was just defending his team (the same way he did when playing for Manchester here in Portugal against Benfica, I think...) Everyone boo'ed him then.

The reason why he isn't speaking to the english press is because he's not speaking at all! Not to the portuguese or whatever...
