Hey I played a bit in my day too... Four years of Junior Hockey including a few games in the Quebec Major junior league. (I have to admit it was back in the '70's tho when goon hockey ruled and you didn't need to skate as well as today)hehehe...
Have fun on the pond, they're not frozen here yet!!
Who is more popular in Finland these days?? Saku or Teemu? Will anyone from Finland ever surpass what Jari did in the NHL??? It will be very very difficult.......

SteveeT: I think that Joe's dist sounds have been JSX drive channels (since finalizing the JSX) instead of he ds-1 into clean channel setup he was running with the Marshall 6100. I think he's stated that for certain sounds the ds-1 into clean channel is useful. Just like if I wanted an SRV sound, I'd probably get there faster with a pushed clean channel and a tubescreamer in front of it. So, if I'm translating things correctly, when you try to use the dist channels on the JSX with the palmer (for speaker sim) the sound is comming out artificial or odd sounding? I might be able to help you there. I've found when using speaker sims (at least from my experience with the H&K redbox pro) they have their own things that they do to an amp's tone. In the case of the JSX, I've found that I have to increase the presence by 5, and decrease the mid by 1 to approximate the sound I'm used to hearing through my legacy cab live. The H&K tends to fatten or warm things up, so no matter what amp, I'm usually tweaking mid and presence. You have to figure out the quirks of what the Palmer tends to do to the tone. My guess (from listenning to Joe tracks that I know are the palmer) is that it tends to be on the bright side? Anyway, I don't know if this helps, but let me know. Oh, one last thing. If you're thinking of pushing the jsx (all of the volume controls to 10) to get the best tone, don't do it. My experience is that the JSX is at it's warmest with the master on 10 and the drive channel volumes on 5. Anything past five starts overdriving the dist preamps and brings on more of a buzzy out of control, almost distortion pedal vibe to the distortion. If that's the type of chaotic tone you need, it's great, but not if you're going for fluid gain.

OCPS470...I'll try the ideas out...I've already turned down the Treble on the JSX to 0...which as helped significantly...thank you for the input...it is appreciated....
Now with the MoJo' in the bridge, and PAF Joe in the neck of the JS10th, I've extra tones to factor into the new mix....
