Okay...deep breath...once again asking for prayers all around...sorry to keep bringing sad things to the board....seems like a lot of sadness here lately...but....

My dad's heart started acting up again today....he's back in intensive care. I'm not sure what's going on, except that he was doing so well, then someone made a mistake and gave him "real" food when he was on a liquid only diet....he became so sick from that, has a tube in him to take it all out, and again started to get better...but now his heart...

We are also dealing with slowly losing our Sweetie kitty....we've only had her for 5 short years and should have had more time...but her kidneys have failed. Losing a pet is so hard, but in this case, for my son especially, it's like losing a person. Sweetie has always been Chris's special girl, she has always understood him and never been afraid of him even when he gets emotionally upset. She has always run TO him to help him calm down when he's having a "melt down" (he's autistic) while the other cats have run in the opposite direction. Besides me, she's the best thing in his life...and he's losing her and I can't make it better. Our hearts are breaking. We need a coupla miracles here.

So if you believe in prayer, saying one for my dad, my son and our Sweetie girl would be very much appreciated. If you don't pray...just a good thought would be lovely.

And thanks.

123shred
here's the deal kid, read carefully:
playing righty or lefty comes to this decision only, instrument availability... i'm a lefty, i started playing as a lefty cuz my dad is a lefty and i started playing his guitars(righties turned upside down), now that i have my own, getting new stuff is really hard, cuz people just won't build lefty instruments... if you want a standard strat, it's ok, but if you want an eric johnson's signature strat, it's out of the question...
can you get a JS signature guitar for left handed? not really... maybe steve vai's jem... mmmm, not anymore, and good luck finding a jem555L(which might be one of the crappiest jems ever, according to jem freaks...), you might find a unicorn first...
PRS custom? not anymore, unless you are loaded... gibson custom???? ...maybe, for a kidney...
godin guitars??? (they look so nice!), OUT OF THE QUESTION!!! they won't build them, i know cuz I HAVE EMAILED THEM SEVERAL TIMES!!!
fender strat with a GK-2a divided pickup... are you freaking kidding me???? good luck trying to install your own GK, it's all upside down!!!

i could go on and on for hours, cuz i have searched all over the internet for years now and every time i find a 'rare' lefty version of a guitar, it's either very limited, very pricy or just discontinued...

i don't have the money to afford all the guitars that i want now, but just knowing the fact that even if i do in a couple years, i don't even have the option to choose anything but crumbs on the floor... it upsets and dissapoints me... that's why after i get over my new floyd rose fixation, i'll get back to fender guitars, because they're the brand with the biggest amount of left handed products, straight up... and even then, i can't get all the options...

i really hope you are rich, 123shred, otherwise playing as a lefty will get very frustrating... i know i get frustrated every time somebody asks me: "how come your guitar is black? that's kinda depressing...", and i go: "well, it's the only color available for left handed, so..."
i have found out that i need to have a lot of money to get more options... a lot of places will agree to build something 'lefty', but they'll treat your order as a 'custom' order, so...

SO, THERE MUST BE SOMETHING GOOD ABOUT BEING A LEFTY GUITAR PLAYER, RIGHT? well, kind of...

NOBODY TOUCHES MY GUITARS, BECAUSE NOBODY CAN PLAY THEM!!!

even my left handed friends, they all play righty, so they can't play my guitars... i studied music in college and everybody played everybody else's guitars... guess what, when a string gets broken, what do you know? nobody did it... it was a mistery every time... my guitar? untouched, why would somebody touch it??? there was no point...

last thing, does it affect your performance? not at all... playing an instrument means teaching your hands how to do strange movements that are not 'normal', or part of your routine (like brushing your teeth)... your hands don't know anything, you show them the way... a barre chord always sounds like shit the first time, it doesn't matter which hand you use to fret it...
and if you don't think a lefty will play rigthy as good, check michael angelo batio, probably (arguably too) the fastest shredder we have ever seen... he's left handed, and yes, he plays right handed!!! and you know what? being a lefty allows him to perform some sick tricks, cuz his fretting hand, the left one, is his strong hand...
when you don't know, there's no right or wrong... those are comparison parameters, if you just wanna get started, you have nothing to compare yourself to, right???

now, i'm sorry i got carried away, but this quest for guitars has been my thing for years... i just wanted to see what my options were, and i'm still looking...
whatever you choose, it will be completely up to you...

now, choose wisely...

Answer me this....why do teenagers find it so hard to communicate the simplest things!

Cosmic Ape - I have to say I am surprised about the unequal opportunites for lefties....I mean thats discrimination! surely there is a leftie association or something on the net...i mean you get em for blind, deaf etc etc !

Captain Steve - Caught it and I appreciate the hugs muchly....but actually I need a hug every day!

HUGS ARE GREAT!!!!

Guitarmans Girl - I have to apologize that I have been a little wrapped up in myself and I haven't posted to you yet. I mean a 75 year old mum who you kinda expect to go is one thing but to lose a partner/husband (sorry not sure which) at 39 is a whole different ball game....you have been through a lot of suffering and mine is nothing in comparison at the moment, I admire your courage to come here and speak about it...just to keep going with life which must feel so empty shows so much courage, bravery and strength of character...so lift yourself up and be proud of yourself...I am sure Matthew would be proud of you and love you all the more if he knew how well you are coping with the situation.

aussieRGman - Yeah you are right it sucks...I mean the pain...there is nothing you can do about it!!! but hey it does help knowing others ARE thinking of you and would be giving you a hug if they could...HUG HUG!

Cheese101 - Awww you must be on a real roller-coaster of emotions too...I can't empathize coz I haven't been through that situation...my dad died when I was four so I didn't know too much about it...course with mum the way she is....give it a few months and I may know exactly what you are going through (that's whats scaring me at the moment) but ...I do feel for you and wish I could give you a comfort Hug! I do know about the cat thing though...they are always there for you and can be closer than a lot of family members...I have had four cats die (3 of old age) one had a disease that hit its nervous system and he couldn't eat or retract his claws...but we nearly nursed him back to health which the vets were amazed at...but then he got his claws stuck in the sofa one day while we were out and virtually hung himself....we got him off and layed him on a cushion....but next day he let out the most blood-curdling scream and died....it was the most awful pain I had ever felt...I felt such pain in my heart. Yes our pets are loved and its hard losing them....thoughts are with you on that too!

DelfinoPie-Welcome back! they are a bit late in your shopping centres then....lol

Slanshroom - yeah too right! We definitely need something good to happen.....

someone get married or have a baby or win something...

PLEASE!!!!!

Hugs Satriella xx

PS....JOE or anyone....OK so when this guitar arrives what tips have you got for a complete and I mean complete beginner on the guitar?

Satriella:It arrives with the every breath, when life is so bad that you are too numb t move, when all you had is gone & you are but a figment of your imagination.. you still can draw breath for a reason.Everyone & everything is important, we all have a role t play. Some find that role, others wander. You just bought a guitar. You just made a first step to try t understand music & its a beautiful one, enjoy

Hiya fellow Satch fans.

I must have heard Flying IABD a thousand times, either on CD or live, but I can't quite figure out the words at the start of the intro. It sounds like a young boy and finishes with "... and sometimes they don't".

Do you know the full lyrics at the start ? I'd be grateful if someone out there could solve this long time problem !! Either post here or reply to me at actuary@tonyknight.freeserve.co.uk.

Many thanks !

Tony.

Monterrey Trace -

I send my prayers for your dear old dad

That he's feeling better soon

And able to eat his sustenance

With knife and fork and spoon

Good vibes to ease your Chris's pain

Though in truth I don't like cats

Althouh they have their uses

Like catching mice and rats

My best to you as you worry and fret

For you dear old dad and boy

I hope that heading soon your way

Good news wrapped up with joy.

All the best Tracie

Steve

Men Are Just Happier People--

Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack.

You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth.

The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another petrol station toilet because this one is just too icky. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress £2000. Tux rental-£100.

People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.

The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time. Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks.

A five-day holiday requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.

If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.

Your underwear is £4.95 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. Everything on your face stays its original colour. The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.

You only have to shave your face and neck.

You can play with toys all your life. One wallet and one pair of shoes one colour for all seasons. You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can "do" your nails with a pocket knife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a moustache..

You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.

No wonder men are happier.

I'm not bothered if God is a man or a woman. I only hope that when I die I go to His/Her house rather than that fiery hot place where Beelzebub resides.

Peace all.

slansh sticks up mid fingey t it, they can stick their ideas up their ass, religion has done nothing but devide love into quarters that we cant see.Its completely missed the entire point of what love is. My dad is a mason, tryed t tell me when i was young t become one.I knew better myself, i know how they work, i watched as a child, sick fucks most of em.

Dont worry son you,ll be a mason one day y,ll be alright....
