Joe - thanks for the "high five" bro...

that's serious kudos for me....

on the CD cover notes you're listed as a major influence...
and it also mentions our meeting at the Hammersmith not so long ago... that moment still makes me smile from time to time.. lol..

if you'd like a copy of the finished article to scope out then just mail me at paulclark@rocketmail.com
I'd be more than honoured to send you one...

cheers Clarky....

Blue_Moon: Good luck with your job interview Alan!!....

Guitarmiester: I hear ya bro, that is a tough song to handle, and that's what makes it even tougher to play live, lol, have fun with it.... Btw bro, drive safe, sounds like it's bad out there!!

....Hope SteveeT, Mari, Guitarmiester and Rob/Dave and the boys have a blast at the meet up and show!!.... :-) Satch peeps ROCKETH!!....

slanshroom: haha, lol bro, Congrats and.... Lmao, haha....

Zenfish: I hear ya man, and soloing over Classical is an arduous task, and unless you have a brain like YJM, it can seem impossible at times, lol, good luck bro....

Clarky: lol man, I can see what you mean about Michael and phenominal technique, but it's the way he plays/uses that technique that sounds the same to me.... He doesnt seem a jack-of-all trades to me, just a speed picker, but then again, I haven't seen his whole catalog....

he's sort of set him self up for this... because now his fans simply expect it of him... My thoughts exactly bro, and I wonder what could have been without all that hype....

A friend once brought up a good point (in the same veign) about George Lynch.... What would he have become if he wasnt so concerned with his looks and worked more on the guitar.... I thought about that and then looked back at all the magazine ads, lol, but in the end, as humans, we have to use our strong points to get ahead and make a living....

On Petrucci: personally, I think he should set out to prove less, and express more... and no matter what, his jaw-dropping ability would always shine though..... Thats what sets me off when I hear him destroy an otherwise beautiful song with wanking in all forms, sizes and shapes.... He has nothing to prove (like with Joe), but always sets out to prove and ruin (for me) at the same time....

Btw bro, I know Joe will hear your Shrez soon, that is too kuul, and I hope to get it sorted out so I'll order before Christmas, lol, stay kuul Paul, and yup.... What a great start for the New Year!!....

Clarky: I agree all the way man! Speed is tool, it's not a song haah! I usually explain to my students that speed is like dynamics. If I play loud all the time, then loud playing has no impact emotionally on the audience. Speed is the same. Congrats on the album too! When I get around to it I'll be emailing you to order one.

I think the movie link is working now. Per fretless tips, I get a lot of ideas for fretless lines listening to Joe improvising with the whammy pedal. Ned

There is hope yet! ;-)
