...Just wanted to mention - that i had the great pleasure of meeting Joe in person last april in Toronto @ Steve's music store. what gracious guy he was on that day, to take the time to meet fans and musicians alike. Strange bunch we are sometimes! Anyway, just ordered " Engines of Creation " , can't wait to get it in my drive again. If anyone hasn't ordered "Live In San Fransico" yet, do yourself a favour 'n grab a copy. it goes hand n' hand with Vai's DVD as top listening.. dude! later!

Hey Joe~! I am Eliott Janz. I am 16 years old and have bene playing guitar for 2 years. About a month ago I got a phone call to perform at "The Knitting Factory" In hollywood California on August 9th. I desided to put myself to the Challenge and open up the show with your song "Summer Song." Its an amazing song~! Plus a great song to open up a concert with~! If you get a chance joe, It would mean so much to have you make an apperiance there at "The Knitting Factory" on August 9th. The Show Is to raise money for special Causes. "Bill" From "Heart of Gold Entertainment" is gathering some of the best young musicians from around the world, to have them play at "The Knitting Factory" on August 9th.

Hi Joe!

Is there any possibility to release more tickets or to add a night in LA?

I have not missed any of your appearances in LA for several years now, but Roxy now tells me that there are no tickets available (after I called yesterday and they told me that they had tickets but no one was around to take my order!!).

Please help! if you can!!!!!

Thanks a lot, AraG12

Hi joe i have a really good idea for g3 you might like this ok. I just thought of it and im not sure what the people will think of it either, but here is. Why dont eatch one of you at g3 you ,petrucci, gilbert etc all play eatchother's songs,it is quite a change and could be even more fun and maybe a challenge who knows but i bet most of the people would love to see you play petrucci's stuff and petrucci play your stuff and gilbert etc,is it allowed etc. Also when are you next touring the uk. thanks for your time from nathan.

gruskada - as you surmised, some of the motivation for people to pick up the special releases is getting all of that bonus footage, so it would be respectful of that to not copy it all off and put it up. i think a few excerpts that give people an idea would be fine, however. it's a similar approach we'll take here on satriani.com over time.

Hey joe...I hear your voice....right now...

No I am not barking mad..

I got a radio interview going on in the background with you!

yet again you are being asked about when hendrix died and the football playing....*sigh* you must be so fed up with answering that one....but being the lovely man that you are you answer...well done!

THATS WHY WE LOVE YOU COZ YOU ARE NOT ONLY AN AWESOME GUITARIST

YOU ARE A LOVELY GUY TOO!

AraG12 - Welcome to the board...shame you have missed joe so often...hang in there you will see him eventually....you got more opportunities than we do thats for sure!

Cork1 - Well I wouldn't say replaced...like its permanent or anything....I actually prefer Gilberts Style to Vai's now anyway...but lets face it 3 guitarists playing together when one is joe is just fab, whoever the other two are!

slanshroom - this is not like you....you really peeved...please try to calm yerself....remember there are kids that come on here....and it's upsetting for us concerned types too! LOL

gruskada - Yeah I would agree with the extremist being Joes best...although I do love Surfin and Flying in a blue dream too as a close second! (well all of em really...but they is me favourites!)

daimer - welcome...you do love joe and you got the hang of posting all right haven't you!

gotta have Joe - YAY there you are...we have been worried about you! Wow cool uncle you got there...glad you are OK....is your email fixed now then?

js1200js1000 - Big cyber hug for your pain of heart....you may not believe it now...but it will go with time....just go with the flow for now....you will go through different emotions, anger, pain, laughter, regret, tears...many things...but its all the natural way of dealing with such a terrible thing.

roffler - LMHO - cranking it up to 11 does it every time!

jblaze1 - Guitar Guard eh...yeah I think I could do that job too! hehe...you do pretty much everything eh...not that you are boasting or anything!

maximagnet - time fer your bath just don't scrub away the good bits! LOL

webmaster - thanks for the response. I wasn't going to pull any footage, just some liner note song info quotes. But, from what you've said, it sounds like the same still applies - I can quote a few things here and there, but don't pull off everything.

cosmic_ape - thanks! Glad you like the site. Sorry I didn't see your post before. Hmm - I really hope I get a signed version. I've had good luck before from the Sony Store.

Satriella - yeah, FIABD is way up there too. The great songs are easily some of Joe's best, but I can't listen to the album all the way through without skipping a few here and there. Probably my 4th favorite album.

About Joe politely answering questions he's been asked a million times, I don't know how he does it. Eventually, I think I'd be all over a reporter, telling them to do some basic homework (but then people would probably say I'm the jerk. All part of being a true professional, I guess. Good thing I don't get many (um, any) press interviews about my job :-)). The coolest thing is that even when asked a question like that, Joe will many times add more information than he's talked about before, so it's not a total loss.

Daddariosoul - ok, thanks. Yeah, me too. Like I said, Surfing isn't my favorite album, but it is *the* big release for Joe, so having that signed would be awesome.

"the weeping demonwah" - now that's a seriously cool phrase. I feel like writing a song to that title, but I don't think I could do it justice :-)

BTW, I'm not trying to make fun of you, kreak - I can't speak or write any other languages. Speaking of which, anyone know Russian? http://www.guitars.ru/05/info.php?z787

Also, if you're asking about whether or not Joe uses a wah, he does use one quite a bit. He started using one in the 1970's, gave it up for a while, then picked it back up again starting with the song, "Surfing With The Alien".

I had a dream that Joe pulled a "Baba O'Reilly" with some of the posts from T2J, and assigned each letter in each word a musical value, then used it as a background to a song. Very strange.
