First of all, I would like to say that I am new to this site. I was just recently introduced to your music from a friend about a month ago and instantly fell in love with your music. You are truly an amazing guitar player. When I found your site I decided to write to you and ask for a little favor. I am currently attending Stevens Henager College working on my bachelors in Accounting. One of the classes I have right now is a speech class and I have an informative speech that I have to perform on Monday, Sept. 10, 2007. I have decided that I would do my speech on why you are one of the greatest guitar players in the world. I was curious if you might be able to give me a little insight on your life to help me out with the speech. I would like to know more about what inspired you to start playing as well as becoming a teacher. And anything else that you may feel is relevent to what you believe has helped you to become one of the greatest guitar players in the world. If you do not happen to get this by Monday that is ok, at least I tried, lol. I would like to thank you in advance though for any help that you may be able to give me. Keep up the spectacular music and you are truly and inspiration. Thank you again. xoxoxoxo

wow the odd things that people post on your page....well...the man im in love with Graham is a huge fan and even has are 19 month old son holding his fist in the air and "rocking out" to your music.he "trys" to keep up with your playing on the cd's but hes not quite their yet hes actually taking lessons from a guy at mc murry music to learn how to speed it up with out tripping over his fingers, but anyways he was so upset yesterday when he went up to guitar center and found out your siginature black ibanez guitar that he bought in march and we saved lots of money to buy now comes with an autographed cd. and you can only get it with the guitar purchace and he was even willing to return his for a new one just for the cd but we cant afford it. so if you read this and you have an extra copy or he could mail you the 1 of the 2 copies of surfing with the ailens he already has to sign that would be awsome if not no hard fealings i understand. Oh and one more thing when is the next time you will be comming to st. louis? id like to supprise him and get some tickets to your next show or pay for a lesson you give at dales music.witch ever hit me up let me know. much love..

HI Joe my name is Alexandre, and i really like your works, and usualy i take then as something that my students have to play before going further in the learning of the guitar (because by playing them , they show me that they have more than enough virtuosity and that i can securely proceed to thins like harmony jazz and etc)
But there is something that i need to ask, maybe i´m not a so good guitarist but, generaly what type of efects you assembly to make those sounds in general , and specially in the surfing with the alien

Hendrix's fiery Monterey concert comes to DVD
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Jimi Hendrix's breakthrough performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, when he transfixed the American rock cognoscenti with a set that climaxed with the immolation of his guitar, will be released on DVD for the first time on October 16.
"The Jimi Hendrix Experience Live At Monterey" (Universal Music) includes incendiary versions of original material such as his first single "Hey Joe" and "Purple Haze," as well as covers of Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" and Bob Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone."
A soundtrack CD and LP, which will also be released that day, additionally feature the tune "Can You See Me." Director D.A. Pennebaker's crew turned off their cameras during that song and there is not a single frame of footage in the filmmaker's archive, according to John McDermott, the Hendrix expert who oversees the guitarist's catalog.
In addition to the usual audiovisual enhancements, the DVD package boasts a new documentary, "American Landing," featuring previously unseen interviews. Also included are extensive liner notes and rare photos.
An audio version was previously released in 1986 by Polydor Records and producer Alan Douglas as "Jimi Plays Monterey." A companion VHS version featured commentary from John Phillips of the Mamas and Papas, who organized Monterey with Lou Adler. Before that, Reprise Records released festival highlights on "Otis Redding/The Jimi Hendrix Experience" in 1970.
Hendrix, the toast of the London rock scene, was largely unknown to his countrymen when he and his Experience bandmates Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell, a.k.a. "these two cats," made their U.S. debut in the all-star lineup at Monterey, near San Francisco on June 18, 1967.
According to Phillips, Hendrix almost came to blows backstage with Who principal Pete Townshend because neither wanted to follow the other. After Hendrix lost a coin toss, he jumped up on a chair and vowed to "pull out all the stops and blow everybody away," Phillips recalled in the VHS release.
The performance began with an introduction from Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones, who described his good friend as "a brilliant performer, the most exciting guitarist I've ever heard." It ended about 40 minutes later with a cover of "Wild Thing," during which Hendrix played his guitar behind his back, set it aflame, smashed it to pieces and tossed the fragments into the stunned crowd. His takeover of America was complete.

Kudos to Sirius (satellite radio) for their decision to designate a channel for The Grateful Dead.
The channel will begin on September 7 with a broadcast of their 1974 Hollywood Bowl performance.
With many, many shows on tape, the selection will be immense.

Hello Joe , Rubina and ZZ .
It's Theodor and Ioanna here from Greece. We have met during the show in Athens. I am the one who was talking for two years with Wayne F. and found the company Astra For this summer. Unfortunately there where plenty of problems with this promoter as I explained to Rubina while you were on stage. Because this is a public post please check your myspace.com inbox for my e-mail. I have some great offers and ideas for your next European tour.
Kind regards,
Theodor
